    Needs cleaning inside and out.
    Quention A.

Cleanliness. I understand this hotel has history and is old but it can still be cleaned. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue meaning not enough or it's needing a manager to manage its personnel. We enjoyed the park and the convenience of the hotel location but it's definitely not a Universal Studios hotel resort.

    Smashed bug.

Very convenient- very short walk to the park. I was very disappointed in the room though. It smelled musty. Luckily I googled it ahead of time and knew there was no coffee pot so we brought ours. It wasn't very clean. There was a giant bug smashed with guts on the wall. The floor was dirty and someone left a piece of a fingernail on the desk. The room is VERY basic. Plain Jane. The shampoo and body washes were all different companies and very random. The room is Very plain, beds were not comfy and pillows were hard. I was expecting so much more for the cost. I pay the same amount for our Disney hotels we stay at and I guess I was expecting something similar. I would stay again...just for the convenience.

We stayed here for five nights and had a three day pass to the Cedar Point Amusement Park. Pros: The views and proximity to the beach were great. It was also nice to be steps away to the park and could unwind at the beach & pools. They had huge fire pits at night and always a band playing at the sand bar. Cons: The internet didn't work very well. There were no coffee makers located in the rooms and there was not a daily room turn down service. I was told to request service and it still took them two days for an initial cleaning. They will not let door dash to your room. There were restaurants on site but we chose to drive into town for other options.

We had a wonderful stay here and can't wait to go back again. The staff was so friendly and our beds were way too comfortable. I like that they have everything nearby so we didn't even have to move the car over the three days there. My only complaint would be the available (or not available) parking. We had to drive in circles for a while hoping for someone to leave. I didn't want to leave to the store fearing I'd find no spot and unfortunately the vending machines are awful expensive. $5.50 for a bottle of cherry coke. Yikes! I'll be better prepared next visit. My teenage daughter and I loved the beach and games they had available. ( corn hole, volleyball and connect four to name a few). The restaurants were delicious. Make sure to get a reservation if wanting the hibachi as we did a carry out since it was a few hours wait. We'll be going back again for sure

The Good and The Bad - Breakers Hotel We arrived at 4pm for a 4pm check in time. The line was winding around the lobby and our room wasn't ready until 6pm. This is not a cheap roadside hotel. We paid $800+ for 2 nights not including park passes. Why aren't the rooms ready on time? We have less than 48 hours to enjoy the amenities and amusement park and I think they owe us for the 2 hours that we missed due to their inability to properly manage this hotel. A positive: free parking. Once we got to our room it was fine... nothing spectacular but adequate. The entire outdoor area could use some TLC. Light fixtures were dirty, patios needed a wash etc. The swimming pool was very buggy and needed skimming, which eventually happened, but not before the pool opened for the day. One of the elevators in our wing didn't work and there were often long lines for the elevators. The kids loved the early park entrance and convenient location to Cedar Point. Everything within the hotel was extremely overpriced, which is sort of to be expected but it seemed more than necessary. The location is perfect for Cedar Point goers and we did enjoy the beach and relaxing on the pool decks (once we wiped bird droppings off of the chairs). Lake Erie was surprisingly shallow and warm here and there were lots of people enjoying that area which was nice to see. I don't think I'd stay here again, unfortunately. I had high hopes, but the price per night was a bit of a splurge considering it was just one stop on a road trip. I don't mind paying for a great place with great service, but unfortunately, I don't think we got what we paid for.

We stayed at Hotel Breakers on a long Holiday weekend for the 4th and had an absolute blast. Having said that there are lots of pros and cons of this hotel that you may want to be aware of prior to booking or arrival upon your stay. I'll start with the cons so we can end on a positive note. The rooms are very basic for the price. No coffee machines, comforters on the beds, and they are tiny! They do not clean the rooms throughout your stay. If you would like your trash taken out or additional towels, you have to call to request it and the front desk staff sort of gave me a bit of an attitude when I remarked that I found it unusual. We ended up just putting out trash out and requesting new liners daily and doing the same with the towels. The other thing that was weird was they have staff monitoring the indoor pool every hour or so to make sure they have wristbands on, that we weren't given during check in. We were temporarily kicked out, and not in a friendly way, until we got our wristbands on, despite being the only ones in the pool at that time. It was just super odd to me that they have enough staff to monitor wristbands, but not enough staff to clean the rooms. We also found a corn kernel on the floor of our room that our toddler could have choked on if I had not found it first. Having said that, the pros do make up for these issues and we will be bringing a small vacuum, cleaning wipes, more towels, and a coffee machine when we stay next time. The pros. The hotel is right on the beach which is absolutely stunning. They have multiple pools and restaurants and there honestly is no reason to leave the hotel the entire trip. The kids pool was perfect for our toddler, and they even have a semi heated indoor pool which came in handy on the one rainy day we were there. The proximity to the park is amazing, although our son is too young so we didn't go, but the view from the beach gives it a very Coney Island feel. The outside of the hotel itself is beautiful and it has an amazing history to it. They have a band playing on the beach as well as a Tofts ice cream parlor and arcade. It's definitely the type of place you pay for the experience and convenience and we will definitely be back!

Just got into our rooms. Paid a small fortune for two adjoining rooms for 10 of us. Supplies were beyond inadequate so had to get towels, washcloths as well as soap and shampoo (only had enough for 6). Mold is everywhere along wall and floor corners (see pictures). So frustrated with the entire check in and get to the room and it's not even close to worth what I paid. Worst of all, while putting away supplies I'd just gotten from housekeeping, I found blood on the bathroom door. That is a serious health concern. When I spoke with front desk, they said both housekeeping and a supervisor must have missed it. This place is very, very sad.

We had a good stay at Breakers while staying at Cedar Point. The access to the park is awesome. There was an entrance right next to Magnum and about 100 yards from our building. The rooms were spacious enough and were clean. The main building had everything that we needed. There are several restaurants on site, as well as pools, laundry, and an arcade.

Reviews were great so we quickly pulled the trigger! Check in process was super simple. You can check in on the app and you can actually pick your room. Receptionist were both very friendly and even offered us waters. They do have hot coffee and hot water for tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. They also have a 24/7 store at the desk with sooo many snacks and drink options! They have multiple TVs, sittting areas and shuffle board/foosball in the lobby, which we saw lots of people enjoying. Our room was spacious. Plenty of room for storage. It smelled fresh and clean. The shower was perfect size, just wish the water was a bit warmer. The good: Waterpark and room were clean. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Kids really enjoyed themselves (10 and 14). There are lots of restaurant options within 3-5 miles to fit any budget. The majority of lifeguards took their jobs seriously and enforced rules. It was less expensive than other indoor waterparks. Room fridge was great for storing snacks and drinks. Nearly everywhere in the hotel is crazy loud, but, the craft room was a great place to take a sensory break and slow down for a bit. The area by the aquarium on the third floor was also quieter often. There was a seating area for reading and tables available for boardgames with a view of the bay. The bad: We waited in line at 4:15 pm for a half an hour to just check in. They had a line of people filling the entire lobby with 4 staff checking people in. It was not streamlined at all. The changing room did not have a curtain or door on it. Nor did the bunk room. The only place to change privately was the small room off the bathroom with toilet and shower. Walls are paper thin. You will hear everything going on in the hall and the rooms around yours. We also happened to be right off the elevator bank which added a whole new level of noise. Elevators are slow and tiny. With luggage, you can fit 3-4 people tops. We chose the stairs almost every time despite our room being located on the 3rd floor right next to the elevators. That said, the stairwells are super loud as it's all metal and cement/concrete. Large attractions do close. The wave pool was closed half the day Saturday which was our kids favorite thing. You need a special card for any arcade, bowling, or golfing you do and that's an extra $3 charge plus what you load onto it. They have cute character "room doors" throughout the hallways. These are often right next to a room door and kids will push the buttons to make them talk all day/night. So many of the areas were unnecessarily loud. You couldn't hear anyone speak in the arcade or waterpark. Stairwells were like banging on metal drums while they echoed between 4 floors. The ugly: Their mini golf (albeit it glow course) is highway robbery. $10 per person (despite being told it was $6 by staff) and only 8 holes. The 9th hole was just putting your ball up a ramp into their skee-ball cup. If you mad it a fun sound went off, if you didn't, it collected it and played a failed sound. Our "bay view" window was COVERED in bird poop and cobwebs on the exterior side. The entire side of the building was filthy to look at. I would not suggest paying extra for the view. This might have been a one off experience in the activity pool but the one time we tried it, I had teenagers tackling me from behind as they fought over basketballs. I was pushed over multiple times by them when they crashed into me (and others in the pool) and nothing was done about it by parents or lifeguards. My kiddo and I eventually left because the ball he and another younger kid were playing with kept getting takin by the teens. Overall, it was a cheaper room option than other places but I'm not sure we'll be going back again. The extra fees for everything else adds up quick and sleep was nearly impossible with the noise level around our room.
