Kung Pao "chicken"
Karen H.

This review is being made during covid but I can't imagine that had anything to do with our to go food, or the quality of it. All I'm going to say is the picture shows what's left after I picked out 6 teeny tiny pieces of chicken This was by far the worst Kung Pao chicken I've ever had. It was ALL veggies and they weren't even very tasty. Yuck! None of it was good, not even the fried rice, it tasted old and bland We will never go back! And I would give this bad review even if my name wasn't KAREN

Twice microwaved "chicken" bits that we received in our 2 large chicken fried rice orders.

Ordered online, after 10pm. Should've known better. We spent $78 and the only decent thing we received that was edible was the edamame, and let's face it how can you screw that up? We ordered 2 pork eggrolls- they were obviously store bought frozen and heated it up in a microwave because it was chewy, not the least bit crunchy as you would expect an eggroll to be. The contents of the said eggroll was very alarming. I took one bite and it stunk to high heaven, like rotten vegetables. I spit it out threw & the rest away. We ordered steamed dumplings and as soon as we opened the container, it was so rank, no one even dare try it after that smell lingered among us a few seconds. I couldn't get the container closed fast enough. 2 large orders of chicken fried rice, requesting chicken be cooked for an additional time in a wok with soy sauce to ensure cooked thoroughly. (Not our first experience at this location, so we knew to request this already) and we also requested no vegetables. What we received was twice microwaved disgusting bits of unknown origin, that was rubbery and absolutely inedible. Same goes for the large shrimp fried rice and the large house fried rice that my husband requested. When you're on the ordering app, it says requires you to check a box that says add vegetables and you would assume the vegetables that are normally in traditional fried rice would be carrots, peas, onions/shallots. Because the app was very vague in regard to what was included in the original meal, and what vegetables were included when you select add vegetables, he received: Carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, zucchini, peas, bell peppers, cabbage, and who knows what else was in that concoction, but with all the vegetables, they had zero room for any meats that I selected, I think he had maybe two pieces of "beef", 2 mini shrimps, some "chicken" bits that looked gray. With all of that nonsense being said, I haven't even touched on the orange, sticky "microwave" fried rice part of the meals that had zero flavor. I think I had to put about eight packets of soy sauce, just to stomach a couple of bites of my rice. This was the worst $78 I have ever paid for a meal for my family in our lives. And to think I gave you a 10% tip on my online pick up order... we will never be back... And don't you people dare call me a Karen, you all know what I'm talking about when you get Chinese food) #mysterymeat #sickofshittycustomerservice

Raw 63. General Tso's Chicken

Went for the second time after they gave us two orders of orange chicken instead of what we ordered, which was 1 general tsos and 1 orange chicken. Today we got home and the General Tsos was raw, like not even close to being done. This is very gross, considering how I would not be able to tell the raw chicken apart from the cooked chicken before I ate it. This is not food safe.

Great prices, especially if you go in person, as well as good food. Their delivery is prompt and makes sure everything is there.

Our server was extremely friendly and quickly brought us drinks. Since this was our first time it took us a while to look over the menu which was quite extensive. The entire back page of the menu was filled with lunch specials which are priced very reasonably at $7.99. We all ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered Chicken lo Mein anda cup of Hot & Sour soup. The other people in my party ordered Sesame Chicken and General Tso's Chicken. All three of us were extremely pleased with the service and the quality of the food. My hot and sour soup was extremely delicious. It was chock full of sliced mushrooms and several pieces of tofu and it was almost a meal in itself and was served very hot. My Chicken lo Mein was equally delicious. The others in my party praised their meals as well and all three of us felt that we had finally found an excellent Chinese restaurant. I look forward to my next visit.

It's been ages since we have been to Chengdu. I don't know why because it's probably my favorite…read moreAsian restaurant. I like it because of its authenticity. You can get all the common dishes here but you can also get some unusual dishes that are very authentic. My grandson once ordered jelly fish. You can't get that at very many local restaurants. Another thing I like is that they have a couple of large round tables with lazy Susans. Our extended family sat at one of those tables once. It was fun putting the things we wanted to share on the lazy Susan and being able to spin it around and try what we wanted. It made for fun conversation talking about the different dishes. That was when our grandson ordered jellyfish. The restaurant is fairly small but the large tables make the restaurant good for groups. I think this would be an excellent place for a Yelp event. They have a lunch menu but you have to ask for it. It includes some of the popular Asian dishes for $9:95. They have smaller portions that come with a choice of soup or egg roll. Danny and I asked to see the lunch menu, but decided to order off the main menu. We split Crispy Tofu with garlic sauce and egg rolls. I liked the presentation of the egg rolls. They were cut diagonally and arranged nicely on the plate. The tofu dish was quite tasty. Next time, I plan to get Mei Fun. I have had it here before and loved the variety of flavors. The service wasn't terrible but it wasn't wonderful. We got our food in a timely manner, but we felt rushed to order and she didn't check to see if we needed anything or refill our water glasses. Service here has been excellent in the past. I am glad we came back to Chengdu and were reminded of how much we like it. We will be back soon.

We had a small group and were able to get a table right away. Our table had a lazy susan in the center which is great for groups. The service was efficient and our food came out quickly. Our waitress did check on us periodically and did refill drinks. The portion size of the food was good and a little salty. I enjoyed the green beans but they had a little bit of a lemony flavor that had a weird after taste. I think the Kung Pao could have used a little more heat. The price for the food was decent.

The restaurant still caters Korean/Chinese food hybrid, predominantly Chinese food though. A few positive features worth mentioning. I really like the inside of this restaurant. It always appears very clean. The food is relatively cheap when comparing to the like of Chengdu. Hot tea is served in a hot tea pot, not in a cup. YES! YES!! YES!!! I feel like the Korean food at Chopsticks lack the "Korean" flavor. If the server did not tell me the Jampong soup is Korean, I would have thought it's Chinese. The beansprouts, cucumbers, Napa cabbage, and seafood scream out Korean but the taste says something otherwise. It really does have a generic taste. The Mapo tofu has soft tofu in some sort of shredded meat sauce. It's a little salty but goes well with white rice. The white rice was a little hard on this particular visit. I guess it's going to be another 6-12 months for me to come back to try Chopsticks again. Sigh...
