Before I start my review of this specific store, I wanted to say something about Torrid in general…read more I love them. They made ordering things super easy for my family at Christmas when they were ordering things. I recieved 2 super cute sweaters for Christmas along with an overwhelming amount on 2 separate gift cards. The gift cards is what brought me to the Woodland Mall location. I knew I was getting gift cards here so I originally planned to buy the hufflepuff sweatshirt but my grandma bought it for me early since it was on sale on Black Friday. So I came in with my only idea being shoes or having my husband help me put together an outfit. They didnt have the shoes I wanted in my size so we scoured the clearance rack. We settled on a pair of jeans, a long sleeve white and black striped shirt, and a gray button up sweater. We also ended up getting a jean jacket because I'd been looking for one for a long time. It wasn't my exact size but I like my things baggy so I got it anyway. I had $130 on my gift cards and spent about $100 so I'll have to stop back by and get something else. Thanks so much Torrid for being a part of my holidays. You guys made it better. The highlight of my Christmas was getting my hufflepuff sweater from my Grandma. Nobody in my family even likes Harry Potter except me, but partnered with Torrid, my hufflepuff dreams came true. Seriously, thank you.

The assistant manager's lack of knowledge regarding their role and the inappropriate conversations they are having with customers and employees are concerning. Unfortunately, the situation has not improved but has instead deteriorated. Consequently, I would not recommend this store; however, I suggest exploring alternatives in nearby areas like Lansing, where my family and friends will shop. Attract employees who are dedicated to working at Bootbarn, aware of their job expectations, and focused on customer needs. How do certain employees still work here?

I went to go return them with the original receipt to get my money back, and a manager named Pam told me they could not take them back or return my money. I explained I was in last weekend, and never worn them. She still wouldn't take them. So I decided to call the supervisor of the store, and I kept getting someone on the other line saying they will send in my request. I called numerous times to try to talk to someone, or to see if my request was read. (This was within 2 1/2 weeks of the purchase) On the third week, the supervisor finally called, and during that phone call, the call got dropped. So I called again, no answer. I kept on them about my request, and finally the supervisor called back AFTER the 30 days was up and said there was nothing they could do. They purposely called after the 30 days so I couldn't return them and get my money back. I will NEVER go here again, I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. First just know that this is a high end fashion brand. I knew that I am not their target demographic going in, but I didn't love the experience at the store. We were not greeted when we walked in, nor were we paid any attention to at any time while we were there. No "welcome in, let us know if you have any questions," etc. Unfortunate because I would have loved to learn more about the brand and their plans for the space, as it looked like they were going to be doing something cool towards the back of the store. I did love the vibe of the store - a dark, moody, academia aesthetic - but I felt so unwelcome that it made me not want to spend much time there. Plus the shirt I looked at was $300 (again, not the target demographic haha). The apparel was very cool and they even had some kids items and Lions gear. Even though this isn't a place for me and I didn't have a great experience, I encourage anyone who is interested to check it out as it is a unique offering in the downtown area.
