They have all sizes and everything looks brand new or almost brand new. For my age range(early 30's) and clothing (style and brands) - this place is way better than Plato's Closet as far as items they take back. They have a more "mature" style sense with the more "expensive" brands - Banana Republic, J. Crew, The Loft, BCBG, etc. I found them to be fair in what they accepted and offered decent money back (you can't expect them to give you TOP dollar for used clothing.. esp if you want to buy AFFORDABLE clothing while you are there) I have fond some really nice pieces there, too. A dress and some pants. Lots of styles, sizes, and brands. Nice options with affordable prices (you will pay a little more for higher end, too- $30 for a Cache dress) Over all.. a good option to get rid of gently used, still in style clothing and get a few bucks back. read more

I was referred to Style Encore by their sister store Plato's Closet (next door.) After selling with Style Encore, I will exclusively use them as my upscale resale for selling. I feel I was given a fair price for my items and the experience was simple, quick, and straightforward. Staff members were friendly and polite, and the store itself was clean and well-organized. Unlike other resales, I did not come across any tagged items that I thought "Good Lord, why are they even selling this?!" Nearly every item was in VGUC, EUC, NWOT, or NWT. Some of the designer items were marked too high, IMO, but others were fairly accurate or even less than I expected. Would definitely return! Only one ding-- their location kind of stinks and they really would be better off in a nicer strip, like Burton/Breton or Gaslight. read more

I would not recommend shopping here if you take COVID-19 seriously. I went in on a Saturday morning to sell items and 3 out of the 4 employees were not wearing masks, only "face shields" that don't actually protect them or other people whatsoever (another reviewer posted a picture of said face shields). I should have just left and not even bothered with them. I'll definitely not be going back. read more

Don't sell your stuff here. They wouldn't take any current Ann Taylor, Banana Republic styles but took two off brand shirts from 20 years ago for $3. Whuh? On the flip side, I love shopping here for a good deal, especially on purses. read more

Great spot in Grand Rapids for second hand clothing. I am a lover of discounted clothing prices and this place offers a wide range of clothing at reasonable prices. Much higher quality than Plato's Closet. I once purchased 2 pairs of dress pants and a blouse for work for just $25. If you're searching for professional attire or dresses, I'd definitely give this place a try! read more

So not sure the difference between this store and Platos. It use to be that this was more for the 35+ career-trendy Mom but they have 20 somethings working buying and selling so because they are the buyers it's turning into another Gen X Gen Z store and no longer representative of anyone older who wants to look comfy chic but maybe not show her belly ring or low back tat! So if your body has morphed into a Mom-chic bod you might be better off looking else where the workers might not potentially say the dreaded " Ma'am" when ushering you into a dressing room. I like this store a LOT better than Plato's closet. The quality is a lot better and I feel like the store is better organized overall. However, I feel some items are a bit high priced for a discount store. read more

This place is amazing! I've noticed that with vintage shops, they often have a lot of bad reviews by people who tried to SELL their stuff there and were unhappy with the money. But if you're looking to BUY designer, brand name clothing for a fraction of the price, this is your spot. Really amazing designers like BCBG, Frye, Max Factor, etc. Also all their clothes are in excellent shape and look like new. I love vintage shopping because it's really good for the planet and my wallet :-). Clothes today are awful - why would you pay $20-30 for a piece of disposable low quality paper made by slave labor at H&M or Forever 21???? Love this place and will definitely come back. read more

I absolutely love this store!! This is where I come to get my work clothes. This store is a little more expensive than a thrift store BUT you get name brand things at a great price! And they have so much variety of good things. And yes, when they buy stuff they don't give you much. But that is because they have to make money off of the clothes also. I love selling here and making a few extra bucks! read more

I have shopped here several times and attempted to sell items. I would rate this store exactly what the title states, "Meh. I've experienced better!" Their prices are too high for used items. whenever I've attempted to sell items, if the item isn't brand new or recently purchased, they aren't interested. They will make you wait 20-30 minutes to tell you that too. So, if you have all kinds of time to waste, this is a great location to visit! read more
