We were not greeted when we walked in, nor were we paid any attention to at any time while we were there. No "welcome in, let us know if you have any questions," etc. Unfortunate because I would have loved to learn more about the brand and their plans for the space, as it looked like they were going to be doing something cool towards the back of the store. I did love the vibe of the store - a dark, moody, academia aesthetic - but I felt so unwelcome that it made me not want to spend much time there. Plus the shirt I looked at was $300 (again, not the target demographic haha). The apparel was very cool and they even had some kids items and Lions gear. Even though this isn't a place for me and I didn't have a great experience, I encourage anyone who is interested to check it out as it is a unique offering in the downtown area.

If you can't get to AK Rikk's in person (as I couldn't), check them out on YouTube. This is the first thing I've purchased from them (on their website), and I don't know if there will be anything else from them in my future, but it's a Wilkes-Bashford, Mitchell's, Bergdorf-Goodman, Neiman Marcus level shopping experience from start to finish. When I asked where they were, he claimed they didn't have laces when I brought them in, and that he didn't remove the laces when he polished/refinished shoes. First off, who does a whole shoe polish without removing the laces? No professional I know. Second, I know for a fact that they had laces in them when I brought them in. His solution was to sell me new laces. After charging me $30 for polishing/refinishing the shoes he wanted me to pay more to replace the laces he apparently lost. Of course I said no, I wasn't giving him more money. I will not return to Cascade Shoe Service. There are plenty of others I can go to instead.
