Shiny and new. A nice collection of shops. I love that they have a Lindt Chocolate Shop and I even got a free Bon Bon. Bustling and feels more upscale than some others. Some bargains to find for sure. read more

Seemingly well organized and set up shopping center. All the stores are adhering to COVID protocols by limiting the amount of patrons entering each establishment and enforcing the wear of mask. So with that being said, there may be a wait at many of the stores. And with the weather being brisk as it is this time of the year, it can be a bit trying. So come prepared and if you need a little warmth, there is a protected fire pit the provides a little warmth when out and about. From what I could see, the selection of stores to choose from is perfect. Plenty of deals to be had. And customer service was inviting. read more

I'm not really into shopping, so this starts off as a biased review. There are a lot of outlet stores, for big brands (and some foods), and I thought they were kind of 'discount' spots for last season or whatever. I know I'm cheap, but dang those prices were still high! More than that though, some stores staff were darn near rude - I can only assume because of our appearance and seeming lack of financial resources. A great place to go outlet shopping in Grand Rapids. They have everything like clothing stores, shoe stores, and even a Coach Outlet, I got myself some good items from these stores and I think is never going to die. There's also a lucky find of only a few fragrance stores that are doing very well. I'm also happy that the customers and employees are keeping this place alive as possible. If they keep this up, then there's no stopping from the bigger competition. I'm also planning on shopping there for the Holidays along with another successful shopping area named "Woodland Mall" which is also in Grand Rapids as these 2 places help me get the fashion and fragrances I want. I'm also hoping for new places to open up in Tangor Outlets like Club Monaco and DKNY as it could make this outlet center better than ever. If you want to shop for your favorite items then this is the place for you, that and Woodland Mall as well! read more

Tanger is a great outlet mall - there are a good mix of outlets and regular stores. My personal favorite is the banana Republic factory outlet - always find a great deal there! The only downside is that there aren't many food options so you'll want to grab something before or after if you're not craving pizza, a pretzel or hot dog. Great outlet mall smack dab on the edge of Byron Center but really close to GR. They have all the typical stores you would at an outlet. One thing that stood out is the place is well maintained. It could be because it's so new. Either way it's just clean and very walkable. So happy to see my old hometown finally get an outlet within a decent distance from town. Back in the day we'd have to drive so far to get to any outlet. Not anymore! This a sign of the growth of Grand Rapids and it's outlying areas. My favorite outlets are here: Banana Republic and The Gap to name a couple. Easy in easy out and the highway is super close. Just a nice new shopping place to hit up on the way into town. read more

Wow! I know this outlet mall is fairly new; however, the cleanliness is outstanding, the parking is plentiful, plus the ease in which getting to and from the outlet is great too! There are a ton of great shops; my favorites are: Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Under Armor, Nike, J.Crew, and trust me, I could keep the list going! This outlet mall also has some really great common areas! Today happens to be a bit cold for my southern blood (44 degrees), so when I saw that here is an amazing fire pit surrounded by an artistically designed iron cage I was elated! You have to see the photo I posted, my text description just won't do it justice! The stores were also having some amazing sales! 50% - 60% off and then an additional percentage off on top of that! Wish I could give them a -5 stars. I paid $90 for a pair of jeans last week, came into exchange them but since I didn't have a receipt they said no. It is so busy here. I felt really uncomfortable in the covid era with such crowds. I went into the banana republic which was fine.

One of the nicest versions of a Mall. This outlet mall is easy to get around in and has most of the top brands. We especially like the Merrill, Columbia, Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, Carters, and the Kitchen stores. BIG outdoor fire pit is a nice touch for the colder months. Starbucks is right at the entrance too. I wish they would add EV parking places though. read more

I hate brick and mortar shopping. No, for real - I HATE BRICK AND MORTAR SHOPPING. I literally couldn't name 5 things I have purchased from a physical store since I got fly at the internet 15 years ago. That said, this place wasn't that bad. In fact, this is the nicest outlet mall I have ever been to. The fact that it appears to be brand new doesn't hurt. Most of my outlet mall experience comes from the Tanger outlets in Howell or the outlets at Birch Run - neither of which I really care for. Both have decent selections of stores but both are too damn spread out. It looks like some civil engineer finally got wise and realized they would make more money if they didn't make old people run a marathon to hit all the stores. Also, Birch Run and Howell have a lot of booty stores that nobody cares about just to keep occupancy up. That isn't the case here, all the stores are names you would recognize and if they can't find a tenant they just leave it empty instead of having 9 stores that sell summer sausage and popcorn tins. My only complaint would be that this place is really light on eats. The only thing I noticed on site was a Starbucks at the entrance and a Subway within the mall itself. I (and I suspect most) would like to see some more choices for dining either on the premises or on the perimeter. All in all it made a miserable day of shopping with my old lady and kid less miserable. If you are in the greater GR area and need a new pair of Air Max and some cotton thongs you should swing thru. read more

I went on Saturday, Nov. 14th for the first time since this outlet opened. I was very impressed with the look and layout of this outlet mall. Very pretty and fun accents. Lots of places to sit. Only downside is the lack of food vendors. I think that this place could only be made better by an anchor restaurant directly in the mall- not located outside of the parking lot, etc. Also, the traffic off the highway into the mall's parking lot is pathetic to say the least. Poorly designed and not large enough to accommodate the flow of traffic. The mall itself is great, getting in and out is not. read more

Where to begin?! With the somewhat ridiculous concept of outlet malls in general? Although years ago, outlet stores had 2nd run and ding/dent merchandise that came from the original stores, nowadays, most outlet merchandise is manufactured specifically for the outlet market and has never seen the inside of a 'regular' store. That said: Tanger Outlet is Grand Rapids' first outdoor shopping/power center concepts. When I visited, I stopped in at Torrid, Yankee Candle, Kate Spade, Mountain Outfitters, H&M, Old Navy, Columbia, and Corningware. The selection of stores at this time is rather small for your typical Tanger, but it looks like they will be developing an additional area of shops to the west of the parking lot. Oh, the parking... What a weird layout for the lot to be on one side with no storefronts that face it except the few on the very south. I found it very easy to lose my bearings within the labyrinth of stores and it was no easier to locate my car's row with little by way of exterior signage along the buildings. Are there deals? I suppose it depends on how you look at it. If come down here for Kate Spade alone, just because the nearest KS standalone store is in Troy at Somerset or in Chi-Town. But I would not trek all the way down here just for Old Navy. I will treat this place like a third GR mall, somewhere I visit specifically for the stores it has that RiverTown and Woodland do not. read more

I was so glad to see a quality outlet mall that's so close to Kalamazoo. Ever since I have been to the one in AC, I couldn't wait for another one to be opened in Michigan. Yay! This place is packed and full of stores that we usually shop. It's good for a day trip as well. some of the stores have been added since it's been opened. Well maintained and clean. I am a bigger guy and, as such, other than shoes, this outlet mall had absolutely nothing to offer me in any way, shape, or form. Sure, they have a Lindt shop (yum) and a couple restaurants but, if I really want to shop, it is a no go here. I see "big guys" everywhere I go and this outlet, apparently, does not care about their business and it shows. ...and yes, I know companies rent space there and it is not all on Tanger themselves but, the fact is, I am rating them as an entire shopping center and, therefore, they are severely lacking in one category. Big women can shop there, big men are ignored. Not worth the drive for me and will not drive back out there unless forced to by the wife (which never happens) read more

The staff at the Michael Korda store are incredibly rude. I wanted to exchange a item with tags still on it and original plastic on the handles of the bag, with my receipt and they said no because it was just past 30 days. I was going to actually buy a more expensive item. When I called one of their other locations the staff there said it should have been no problem and it should have been done for me. So I decided to drive two hours to Michigan City Michael Kors where they happily did the exchange for me. I need to add 4 days after the bad experience at the Grand Rapids store the manager left me a message to call her. So I did thinking she would apologize. When I called her and said who I was and was returning her call, her reply was "what ya got for me?" I could not believe a manager of a high end store would actually say that. When I told her that she started crying and saying I should "understand people are human and that this may be too much information but they are going through staff medical issues right now" Wow. Here's the thing, I already had a bad experience in her store. A apology would have been appropriate. Not "what ya got for me?" Then her crying on the phone. Again terrible customer service, inappropriate comments from management. Especially when I go to another location they accommodate me. read more

So many people love it here. But most of the stores here shouldn't be here. They do not have outlet prices. Some of the stores do have some really awesome deals like 25-40% off. Then there are a few who offer no deals at all with ungodly prices. read more

The new outlet mall is beautiful, clean, and a great overall experience. Two stores have had either no service or rude service. Twice, H&M had rude service, Gina in particular, left me feeling as if I wished I hadn't waited in line to spend my money with H&M. Second, the fitting room attendant at The Polo outlet would not have smiled if she had to to save her life. Not rude. Not friendly. I expected more from one of the staff at Polo. read more

I've been here quite a few times. I love that it's on the south side of GR, right off 131, a quick drive from Kzoo. Plenty of close parking is always available. They have a good variety of stores and I think the set up is great. Aesthetically is very nice, lots of places to lounge, very clean, even a nice outdoor fireplace in the center. Sign up for their club to get great coupons a few times a year. My only wish is that they had more options for food, currently only Subway, Auntie Anne's and Rise pizza. A Applebee's or Chili's type restaurant nearby would be nice. New stores are always being added as well. read more

This place looks modern and seems well laid out. Thats what the 2 stars are for. But like any outlet prices are not cheap. You are better off going to Nordstrom Rack and TJ Max at Centerpointe Mall. And there's Rivertown and Woodland Malls. And why is there no food court? And I see there is wifi but it's slow and sometimes does not connect. I wanted to download the Tanger app so I can figure out the stores but could not. Can't even get Yelp to work with their wifi. So I just turn it off and am reviewing them now on 4g. If this place wants to attract people and survive it needs to do better. Otherwise it will end up like all other Tangers - deserted. read more

This is the first outlet mall in west Michigan and just opened back in July. Overall I was very impressed with. It is new, designed well, clean, good mix of stores, and has covered areas to escape some of Michigan's weather while still being outside. The parking lot seems a little small but that could also be because when we visited it was still new and a holiday weekend. Obviously because it is tucked away with US-131 to one side you cant really give it more than one way in and out. It did take a little while to find a spot but when we did...we were good. The bathrooms seem to be a miss though. I cannot speak for the women's but the men's have 1 urinal and 1 stall. That's it! So sometimes you have to wait for others to finish. It does appear that they are scatted all over the property but the two that I visited were designed and set up the same. Kind of strange if you ask me. Seems like you would want to make it quicker and easier for people to use the restroom. Overall it is a nice place to shop and offers some deals that you may not find at the other area malls. Easy access on and off US-131 and close to M-6 so that no matter when in the area you are...you can get there pretty quickly. I also think that once the newness wears off it will be just like any other outlet mall...parking lot traffic wise. read more

I came here today on my way out of GR and home to Chicago. I needed Corelle dishes and the store closer to be recently closed. I was only there and Shinola but the mall is immaculate. Great location being right off the highway too- I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Loved my quick trip to the Tanger Outlets in Byron Center, Michigan! We arrived late morning yesterday, Sunday January 3 and were able to park and shop easily! This is definitely the time to head to Byron Center! My husband need a new pair of shoe/ boots to get through the winter and the Merrell store fit the bill perfectly plus there was a coupon in the booklet! Bonus! I would usually wander into some of my faves like J. Crew and Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger but on this day which was pretty chilly we just got the boots and headed home! Love this newest outlet mall and look forward to warmer weather so I can wander a bit! read more

Stopped out for the first time on Monday (9/7/15) and it was not too busy, was able to find a parking spot with out much trouble. Since I was already a Tanger Club member I did not think I would have to stop in the service office to get my coupon book it, all the deals would be on my phone, but I was mistaken. Apparently Tanger only wants customers to use the mobile app since it kept failing on my Android devise, and would not load the coupons. When I stopped into the service office I was told this was a known issue with their app and the Android devises but the app works well on the Apple devises. Even now at home the app does not want to work correctly... it is not a good thing if they want Android users to be happy with their services. read more

This is by far the clearest shopping mall that I have gone to in Grand Rapids. I love the recurring offers by the Adidas and H&M's stores here. The open flexibility of the mall could possibly leave you as a visitor of all stores which is pretty cool since you don't have to make turns in hallways just like like the majority of malls in the Grand Rapids area. read more
