This is the absolute worst store when it comes to customer service. Today, there were over 100 people in line and the girl at the jewelry counter refused to ring anybody up...not her choice but apparently management's decision. The Kalamazoo store always puts customer service first at least when I have shopped there. But in Grand Rapids, it seems instead of waiting on customers they would rather a woman just stand there and mark things down then serve customers. And management seems to care less that people are frustrated and angry . Is this how a customer service base should be in this day and age? It is no wonder brick and mortar stores will eventually be nonexistent. I would much rather order from a store online then experience this. If I could read it a zero I would and that all falls on management it's not that employees working aren't working their tails off. read more

Great store. Always great finds. Especially love that it's a HomeGoods and a TJMaxx. Granted this isn't a high services kind of store. It's just great for great products for cheap prices. read more

We went to TJ Max looking for summer shirts. Tried on several and chose three. Two were Jack Nicklaus's brands and all are very comfortable but a bit price. The dressing room ladies gave great us some advice and my wife approved. read more

This place being a duo with Homegoods really ups the game. You get the fullest selection of each. Hot tip. Park on the TJ side because the registers kind of force you to exit on that side. read more

TJ Maxx - Department Stores Near Me - Grand Rapids, Michigan

Doooood this TJ Maxx/Homegoods hybrid is DOPE. I have an entire storage unit dedicated to Christmas decorations so I've basically been cut off from purchasing any more but if I COULD this would be the place to do it. It was stuffed to the gills with holiday stuff. Like, falling off the shelves because they have too much merchandise kind of stuffed. They also have a really nice selection of furniture, kitchen/pantry items, bedding and more. Their pet selection is also very solid. I miiiiight have purchased my dog a few holidays sweaters here. Oops! On the TJ Maxx side they have a really large clothing selection (since they don't need to make space for the housewares and such as everything from those departments are located on the Homegoods side) and some very nice handbags and jewelry. Outstanding selection. The one drawback is that since the stores are essentially merged there is only one check out area. I was there on a Tuesday afternoon and the line was very long. They do have a lot of cashiers to make up for it but it still took a fairly long time to cash out. Not the end of the world but something to consider if you're popping in for a quick shop and need to be out of there quickly. read more

The line to check out was 35/ 40 minutes on a Monday night.They had 3-4 registers and had other associates standing around talking. I thought they would get more registers open but never did. I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

This was a very messy store. Unorganized The front door remained locked even after I told costumer service. No sales people recognized or offered to help us. While I was looking at pictures the sales associate step in front of what was looking at and moved pictures. I see no reason to go back to this store. read more

I love TJ Maxx back home so I wanted to see what the bargain shopping looked like in Grand Rapids. This location didn't have the same selection and variety that I'm used to back home but, I did find some great Polo Ralph Lauren button up shirts for the fall. The men's clothing area was very neat and well organize which made sifting through the racks much easier. The women's selection is much, much better than the men's though and there is even a Homegoods store attached which is a part of the TJ Maxx and Marshall's family. Definitely worth a look. read more

Great store with lots to find in tjmaxx as well as home goods! The people working there are very kind and helpful. At first glance the line can be intimidating but in reality it moves very fast. The Grand Rapids location (off the Beltine) is by far the best TJ Maxx I have visited. Even in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday, the wait time was VERY minimal. Hats off to the updated store/location and to the employees that make shopping here a pleasure. read more

I love this place. Obviously all of their items are discounted because of a manufacture defect, but those defects are almost always nearly impossible to find. They have a huge variety of brand name clothing and accessories. I always feel like I am getting a great deal when shopping here. If you're looking for any sort of apparel items, I suggest checking here first. read more

Awful staff. They are useless and lazy. They are more interested in talking amongst themselves than helping customers, which accounts for the long lines. You can get better deals at a Macy's or JC Penney sale and better customer service too. read more

I am a frequent visitor of TJMaxx. I love the place, however, today I was in there returning a yellow puffy dog jacket (it was too big) around 1:15pm and the women at, I believe, was lane 4 (heavier set and shorter build, shorter blonde hair) was incredibly rude to me through the entire process. She questioned my honesty throughout the entire transaction and after putting the $18.01 in my hands she asked me to place the returned change back on the counter so she could go back and find the dog coat because she believed that I was being dishonest and was returning a different jacket of the same brand to get a higher return. I'm not a rude or confrontational individual, so I placed the money back down and waited for her to go and check. It was INCREDIBLY embarrassing and eventually I was told that I was fine and could leave. The cashier when she finally came back was apologetic, but it was still very embarrassing. I had planned on using the money I got back to get a different jacket (I actually brought my 6 pound pup into the store to fit a jacket to him), but after the customer service that I received I couldn't bring myself to want to give them my business. read more
