I had previously contemplated giving Bootbarn another chance. However, the staff appears to be idle, conversing with one another, and some are using their cell phones. I am astonished by the manager's demeanor and the assistant manager's absence. The assistant manager's lack of knowledge regarding their role and the inappropriate conversations they are having with customers and employees are concerning. Unfortunately, the situation has not improved but has instead deteriorated. Consequently, I would not recommend this store; however, I suggest exploring alternatives in nearby areas like Lansing, where my family and friends will shop. Attract employees who are dedicated to working at Bootbarn, aware of their job expectations, and focused on customer needs. How do certain employees still work here? read more

Store layout and organization was on point. They were well stocked on most things, including things my local store runs out of fast. This location was clean, felt nice and is in a good location. They have a lot of potential. With that said, our experience was positive given it was clear they were trying to get this store up on their feet. The manager was knowledgeable and friendly but you could tell the rest of the staff was very new and still learning. I needed a new pair of boots and had Christmas money to spend. I did my research and found that Boot Barn had just opened a store near me, in Grandville. They had the pair of boots I wanted, so I thought I'd order from them. I placed my order, and upon checkout there is an option to 'Ship to Store' instead of having the order delivered to your house. To incentivize this method, they state that this is the faster method and will result in the order arriving between 1-3 days.* They also offer "$25 dollars" to use this method. I'd like to be very clear that there is nowhere that suggests that this offer is anything BUT a $25 certificate to the store. Due to both of these factors I thought it a no-brainer to have my boots shipped to the store for pickup. I received the confirmation and order number in my email moments after placing the order along with a "$25 dollar off" coupon. This coupon is good for $25 dollars off a $75 dollar purchase only good when you pick up your order. So, I've already spent over $150 dollars on a pair of boots, and this offer requires me to spend, at least, another $75? I was a little disappointed, as well as annoyed at the way the offer was marketed, but I moved on. I placed the order on a Monday night. On Thursday I still had not received any communication about my order. I had received plenty of marketing emails that I asked NOT to receive, though. Thinking that something was wrong, I reached out to their customer service line. I wrote an email detailing my order number, when it was placed, and what was ordered. I explained that I selected the 'Ship to Store' option because the website said it would arrive within 3 days, yet I had not received any information about shipping or picking up the order. I sent the inquiry at 8:00am Thursday. As of 5pm Thursday I hadn't heard anything, so I called the support line. After not speaking to a human for 45 minutes I gave up. I woke up to an email saying *that I was wrong about the 1-3 days delivery timeline, and instead that it was a 1-3 shipping timeline. I've made errors before so I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong about what it said, but I remember it being delivery. No matter, it had still been more than 3 days and my order had not shipped. The tone of the email, written by a "Krista," was rude and condescending. It also stated that my order would be shipped out on the 21st. Well, guess who is writing a review on the 22nd after receiving zero shipping notifications? Yep, it's me. I understand shipping is crazy right now. I work in shipping/receiving. I also work for a company who has some of the greatest customer support in our industry. It is one of the main reasons we gain and keep customers. Maybe that has spoiled me. I understand what it is to keep and have high standards for myself and my team, and maintain those for other companies. I can promise you this, customer service and delivering on what you promise can gain or lose you customers. In this case, Boot Barn has lost me. I'm very disappointed. I was excited to have somewhere to shop for western boots besides Cabelas. read more

Store was very clean, good customer service. Emma helped me out and was amazing! She helped me find the perfect Christmas presents for my family. All together I highly suggest coming to boot barn if you are looking for a nice pair of boots. read more
