There are virtually no stores left that sell Craftsman tools. What with Sears and KMart going out of business. One of the benefits of Craftsman, along with Made in USA, was the lifetime warranty on hand tools. Used to be if a Craftsman tool broke (I had one only once before), just go to Sears and get a quick replacement. No more. All that is left in this area is Ace Hardware. And Craftsman tools are now - could you guess - made in China.
So I have a barely-used ratchet wrench that locked up. I search the internet and only find Ace, the LaGrange location being the closest. I bring the wrench and the guy looks around and says they don't have that model (a very common one, I checked). I ask if it can be ordered. He's not sure and spends a few minutes on his computer and says yes. Fills out the paperwork and says will be there in about a week. I will see. Until I asked, he did not think to try ordering. So ... if you are in the same situation needing a warranty replacement of Craftsman and they don't have it in stock, ask about ordering!
Otherwise, the Ace store, downstairs from Horton's, is a full service hardware store, clean, organized and staff seems friendly and helpful.
Upstairs, Horton's has a massive selection of elegant, stylish lighting for every need. Very expensive, but even internet prices for stylish, quality light fixtures are crazy everywhere, so be prepared. read more
