I had a good idea what I wanted but needed to know what final points I had to think through. It was a long while to get done due to their backlog and COVID resource rework, but after the 4 hour install of everything, it looks and functions perfectly. The craftmanship is fantastic and their design choice guidance was really helpful along the way. I would highly recommend them for any important project in your home. There was a safety issue and also it needed a "custom" touch so that furniture could be moved up and down stairs in a very tight spot. I was so thrilled at how the banister came out that I hired them to make a custom "Dutch" front door for me based on lots of pictures I'd obtained from Etsy and Pinterest. I shopped all over for a door like this and the standard Home Depot version was the only one I could find and I didn't like it. Peglars designed the most amazing door including all my "wish list" items and incorporating specialty hardware I bought off Etsy. I absolutely LOVE my front door. It is so beautiful that I can't stop looking at it. I know all my neighbors are jealous.

Top Notch can do almost anything you need done for your house and they'll do it for a reasonable price and at the time they said they would do it! It's even nicer that both Lana and Robert are great at responding to emails and texts as s that can make it WAY easier to communicate while you're stuck at work. I would highly recommend having them come out and give you an estimate on your next project. I mean.. now that they've finished all that stuff for us I guess it's ok to let you all know how great they are :)

I talked to Robert for about ten minutes. He didn't want to do quotes on evenings or weekends, but my husband and I both work. He eventually said "my wife will kill me, but I'll do it on an evening." He then said we both have to be there in case my husband and I argue and disagree on the work he does, and he couldn't put himself in a position between married people. That sounded a little weird to me, but he sounded nice otherwise, so I figured I'd give him a shot at the work. The next day, I got a voicemail from his wife canceling our appointment saying that we "weren't a good fit for them." I just wish they'd been honest from the beginning and not wasted my ten minutes writing down every detail of the work I wanted and all my contact information and where I'd heard of them if they were just going to cancel immediately afterward. The whole encounter was weird.

STEER CLEAR: HILL COUNTRY FLOORING…read more Please learn from my mistakes. I started a bathroom remodel with another contractor who was highly underqualified and took on too big of a job. He tiled my primary shower without hardy board or any waterproofing and left the shower valve leaking behind the wall. Chris Campbell of Hill Country was very helpful at first. He revealed to me how poor the other contractors work was and showed me mold infested walls surrounding my shower. At that point, I released the other contractor and engaged Chris to complete the work. Chris/Hill Country started out fast and furious, but quickly turned to weeks with no action at my house. He was also quick to demand payments, but never sent workers. The workers that did show up all complained that Chris does not pay them fairly nor on time. Hearing that started to explain why it was so hard to get workers out to my house to finish the job. There were no fewer than three different subs sent out to cut one arch in a wall between my kitchen and dining room. The last sub was of such poor quality that he redid the arch twice, and it still looks like a kindergartener did it. I had ordered some cabinets for this same space, which Chris said were ready weeks ago. But once the arch was "completed" he said there was an issue with some of the doors and that they would be delivered the following week. A week later, the cabinets never showed up. I still have never seen these cabinets. The more I pressed Chris and asked for explanations and schedules, the more he ignored me. He does not respond, he will not answer his phone, he does not come out and check the work of subcontractors. He talks a really good game but does not deliver. Do not use Chris Campbell of Hill Country Flooring . You will regret it.

We began working with Hill Country Flooring earlier this year to help us remove carpet in our…read moredining room and replace it with laminate flooring. When we first reached out to them, they were very responsive and polite. Shaine gave us a quick estimate. He was very good at helping us choose flooring. There were a few delays in scheduling our service, but nothing that was a red flag. On the day of install, the worker showed up before Shaine and unfortunately spoke no English. While not a problem, we do not speak Spanish and had trouble communicating right off the bat. When Shaine arrived we hoped he'd be able to communicate with this worker. But Shaine spoke about as much Spanish as we did. Which was our first red flag. After pulling up the carpet, the worker only used a small amount of leveler which was our second red flag. When the worker finished placing all the panels and left, we immediately noticed the majority of the floorboards were loose (third flag). We messaged Shaine and didn't hear back for several days (all the red flags). Finally he returned our calls and sent the worker back to our house. The worker returned, pulled up all the floor boards, and added more leveler. This still didn't help. I'll give the worker credit, he stayed at our house until 8pm trying to fix it the best way he could. But clearly he was out of his element with this material. We texted Shaine and asked him specifically to come back and look at the issue and see what could be done. That is when he stopped responding. Both my husband and I called, texted, and reached out with every form of communication for weeks with no response. Finally, we called three other contractors we trust to come look at the issue. They all were appalled by what they saw. The type of laminate we ordered required a pad to go underneath that was not mentioned to us at all. They also did not pull up the baseboards to allow the floors to go all the way to the wall, leaving gaps on the edges of our flooring. All three contractors told us that Hill Country Flooring screwed up this job and they recommended we contest the charges for materials on our credit card. Which we did. While we waited on their response we discovered lawsuits that have been filed against Chris the owner. We've discovered that in the past two years they have screwed over multiple contractors and customers. It looks like Chris is attempting to open an media consulting firm now that is also getting called out for being a scam. I looked at all the reviews and I saw they had overall a good rating. I wish I had looked at the most recent reviews. I would have clearly seen how far this company has fallen.

After needing intensive mold remediation in our home, my husband and I worked with Rhino to help us…read morerebuild our kitchen and several portions of our living room area including replacing custom cabinetry that had to be removed in the remediation process. During the remediation and rebuild process, we worked with many different vendors and Rhino was by far the best to work with. They treated us with kindness and respect, communicated well, gave us fair and transparent pricing, clearly cared about the quality of their work, and were always open to any requests and feedback I had in order to make the end result great. Eddie was our project manager, and he was always incredibly respectful and clear in communication so I knew what to expect throughout the project, which helped so much with my piece of mind. We found Rhino after beginning to work with another contractor who lied to us and constantly said one thing but did another, so it made us appreciate the quality of experience we had with Rhino even more. One piece of advice that I would offer anyone who wants to work with Rhino Renovations and needs cabinetry work is that their only preferred cabinet vendor, Laguna Cabinetry, only does custom cabinets and gave us extremely high quotes. We ended up working with Laguna for our living room cabinetry because we needed custom work to match some other pre-existing cabinets, but we did not work with Laguna for our kitchen due to how high their pricing was. The end result of Laguna's work in the living room was pretty good, but in my opinion, not worth their premium pricing. I can't recommend working with Rhino enough, but if the custom cabinetry quote you get through Laguna deters you, know that you are welcome to choose another vendor for cabinetry while still having Rhino run your overall project (because everything other than cabinetry is very well priced). We appreciated that Rhino gave us the option to find our own vendor for the kitchen cabinets to help us stay within the budget of what our insurance would cover. We ended up using Austin Cabinets Direct who gave us great cabinets for a great price, and Eddie from Rhino was kind to be flexible in letting us customize which team did each portion of the kitchen in order to stick within our budget. There were a few miscommunications between Austin Cabinets Direct and Rhino, and I had to do most of the work to be the liaison between the two teams, but in the end, the result was fabulous and very much worth the thousands of dollars we saved compared to if we used Laguna for our kitchen cabinets. I know my review is getting long, but I think Rhino deserves a higher rating than what they have here on yelp, and I can't thank them enough for being the one team I felt I could consistently trust throughout our long and often stressful project! They definitely made our lives easier and made our home look even better than before mold remediation started. We will definitely reach out to them for any future projects!

Try 9 YEARS. And telling someone to "get a life" is not light-hearted, and insulting someone's appearance isn't a "joke". This business owner is a classic bully, who thought he was hiding behind an anonymous profile. I didn't "track him down using his email", I clicked on his PUBLIC profile, and read his reviews, which is how I discovered he owns this business. If you care about how people treat others, go somewhere else for your flooring.

The installers were particularly good and dealt with my quirky hall bathroom vanity with the odd angled corner very well and got it all to fit perfectly! They were also fine with my using a non standard little oval sink to fit that space. I decided to keep my Santa Cecilia kitchen granite instead of replacing so that I could do the bathrooms and they did a great job of fixing the chips, reconditioning it, and making the cooktop hole a little larger so that it would fit my new cooktop. I am now looking at re-doing my fireplace with them because they just do such good work at a fair price.

They said they refunded my money over $1000, I have yet to see the refund. Even if that happens, who does that!! I called and they explained I had to get them on the phone to give them some indication I wanted it delivered. Many Emails and voice messages requesting delivery ETA were not good enough from my understanding of why they cancelled order.
