The furniture had been built to such a poor standard that I had no choice but to find someone who could correct the numerous mistakes. He assured me that he could correct the problems but also had great ideas on how to change/improve the overall look. He and his team did an excellent job, were thorough and professional, timely, and a Great value for the money. I am thrilled with the finished product. The…read morecrew was professional, the work was completed as expected, and up until the very end the experience felt positive. Unfortunately, the post-project payment process left a very bad impression. After the job was completed, I was told that final payment was required within 24 hours because of a clause on the completion form I signed at the end of the project. This requirement was never clearly communicated beforehand when we agreed to move forward with the work. In my experience, most contractors invoice with reasonable payment terms (for example a few days or a week), so being told after the work was finished that payment had to be made within 24 hours felt unexpected and unnecessarily confrontational. What was disappointing wasn't the payment itself -- I fully intended to pay -- but the tone and approach in the follow-up messages. It made the interaction feel more focused on collecting money immediately than maintaining a positive customer relationship. Again, the workmanship was good, but the way the payment issue was handled unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise solid experience.

We wanted to update our kitchen to be more modern and decided to 1) replace new countertops, 2) paint cabinets white, 3) install new backsplash and 4) paint interior. I didn't want to spent a lot of money and get brand new cabinets since mine are fairly new. Austin Painting and Cabinet specializes in painting your existing cabinets to look new. They did a really good job and far exceeded my expectation. The areas they excelled included * Price - The price was very reasonable for the quality of work you're getting. I compared countertop pricing with JL Cabinets. JL initial quote was 2K cheaper but that's just an estimated price before you select your countertop. After we decided on the countertop, JL ended up being 2K more expensive. Tylers price was similar even after selecting countertop, meaning Tyler initial estimate is based on higher quality countertop whereas JL low ball. * Quality - My cabinets had knotty holes to make it looks rustic. Tylers team had to fill all the holes and sand to smooth all the cabinet prior to painting. I was scared that painting would look cheap. However, these guys specialize in cabinet painting. Their work is high quality. The end result was much better than expected. The cabinet finish was as smooth as butter. There are definitely cheaper options out there but you pay for what you get. Anyone can paint, but what Austin Painting and Cabinet excel in is spending lots of time prepping to ensure the paint looks high end. In addition to cabinet work, we had the living area painted. They covered and taped up every inch of the house to ensure paint didn't spread anywhere. The attention to detail is unmatched which shows in their final work product. * Communication - Tyler responded to all text and kept me up to date on the project. He was on time, every time, as well as his crew. I'm very happy with result and recommend Austin Cabinet and Painting to anyone who wants to update their Kitchen.

The quality of their work is top-notch. Also - they provided such great value (they came in below the other quotes for the project) and delivered the cabinets right on schedule. Jon was wonderful to work with - he had great recommendations when I needed them - and was friendly and communicative. I cannot recommend SOSN highly enough.

When he brought the pieces, I did notice that some of them looked unfinished/damaged, but he said dont worry we'll fix that up after everything is done. I was skeptical but trusted him. After the install was done and my other contractors finished their part, his guy came back to do the final touch ups including fixing the permanent scratch marks on the frosted gloss. Despite his best efforts, the glass got worse and the wood defects looked the same. We had to eventually get the glass replaced but after they finally got it done and installed, we realized they glued it backwards so they had to redo it. Then noticed that there was a number that was drawn onto the frosted part that wouldnt come out. Jon even told my wife that day that he "spent money out of his own pocket to get this replaced." We paid almost $11,000 for this project, so no we paid for it out of our pocket. It was obvious that they couldn't fix the glass or the cabinets and it was extreme to redo everything because the backsplash and countertops were already installed. He settled on giving me a partial refund so I can try to get someone else to fix it, but only when his "cash flow was better"...which is an odd comment, but I was understanding. That was in October 2024. Here we are in April 2025 and he still hasnt sent anything. Ive sent him emails and texts every few weeks and if he does respond, he asks me to be patient. We were so excited about this bar as we've been saving up and planning for it ever since we moved into our house; he definitely ruined that by providing a subpar product with even worse customer service. This may have been a harder project than his usual for them, but his quality control should have been better and the cabinets should never have left his workshop the way they looked. He seemed like a nice guy, but I can't recommend using his company to anyone.

Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.
