Worth. Every. Penny…read more My wife and I are both artists (she professionally and I for expression) and have backgrounds in design. We approached ATC with sketches/drawings of the desired work we wanted accomplished on our 1967 custom home and quickly realized we had the right crew for the job. Bryan and Patrick are incredibly precise carpenters who go the extra 500 miles to deliver to the customer. Their cabinetry skills are par excellence and it is quite clear that they adhere to the adage "Measure twice. Cut once". Their strongest suit? When we hit occasional snags with previous design, they were quick to develop and implement lasting solutions that were not only functional but attractive as well. This can be evidenced in the attached photos in the woodwork on the ceiling and walls over the bar and in the photos of the shelving and cabs above the refrigerator and glassed cabs. I can't say enough good things about these guys, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing precise, professional and prideful woodwork accomplished. They are indeed, the "Real Deal". Several of my neighbors in our condo community had him replace windows and doors, paint spaces and replace floors in their units, and recommended him highly. I gave him a call, he picked up on the first ring, got all the information he needed and literally completed the job the next day. (Check out the photos of his work that I posted -- the vertical matchstick mosaic kitchen backsplash turned out awesome!) I found him to be professional, skilled, pleasant, considerate and reasonably priced. His attention to detail was impressive, especially since the mosaic design I chose for my backsplash was intricate and technically difficult to install. He takes pride in the finished product he delivers, and even removed one small piece of tile that came irregularly shaped, and replace it with a well-formed piece -- even after he had completed the install. I based the hiring of him off of Yelp review but unfortunately this has not been a great…read moreexperience. Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

We were a little nervous about putting down a deposit months in advance (he was booked so far in advance!), but the end result was fantastic. He was always forthright in communication and reliable. He did what he said and was honest when he had to reschedule something. On top of that, he was always friendly and direct. Josh listened carefully to exactly what we needed, talked out any possible issues we'd have, and accounted for all the outlets and such that would have to brought out through the piece. We also had to re-do the crown moulding around the piece, and he noticed the poor installation of the rest of the moulding in the room, so he agreed to re-do the rest of the moulding, too. He's meticulous and thorough. We got to watch the progress as he built the piece, because he posts pictures on his Twitter account, which is great! The installation went smoothly, and the final piece looks great (as you can see in the picture) - it's exactly what we wanted and discussed. The new moulding also looks great! I would absolutely recommend Josh for any carpentry project!
