WARNING - DO NOT EAT AT HOPS AND THYME IN LAKEWAY!!!! 1. After being seated I waited a long while - when no one came to table to take my order I had to go find my waitress to ask her to take my order. 2. My order came - fish and chips and a cocktail - sent fries back cause they were cold 3. waited for check a ridiculous time finally went in to ask cashier to bring check - i gave them credit card - they picked up bill and didnt return 4. I went inside to get finalize bill and they couldnt find my credit card. After looking for about 20 minutes when they couldnt find it they accused my of having my card and trying to scam them - mind you at this point I'd never signed off on bill although owner locates a credit card slip - no it wasn't signed. 5. Now I'm annoyed because owner begins accusing me of trying to scam them out of bill when I'm just trying to pay and get the heck out of there. I say "How do you lose a frickin (actual word i used) credit card. Now manager asks me to leave and threatens to call police. 6. I say great please do call the police - by this time I'm now being kicked out the door and I call the police. 7. Police come - check all my belongings and pockets and see I don't have my credit card. Police report filed - credit card canceled. 8. THEIR FOOD WAS VERY MEDIOCRE - SERVICE SUCKED AND HOW THE HELL DO YOU LOSE A CREDIT CARD??? read more

First, I love the atmosphere, the giant patio and live music but y'all...the food is to die for. All of Hops and Thyme's food is delicious and fresh. The first thing I ever ordered was the burratta and pesto appetizer with crispy crostinis and OMG, I got the same thing numerous times before branching out because it was that good! (I even make a copycat version at home but don't tell them LOL). And then there's the brussel sprouts- crispy, flavorful and hearty. My go-to entree changes between the salmon with sautéed veggies and either the burger or the chicken sandwich. The salads are ALL delicious and fresh with house made dressing and just the right amount. Today I finally tried the prosciutto wrapped melon. It was just the right amount of greenery, with savory elements and the sweet melon. My husband isn't normally interested in that sort of thing but by the end of the plate I was sharing bites with him too. Seriously, I wanted to write this review and go on and on about how they are absolutely nailing everything they are doing. read more

Wonderful eating outside and the music was great. The chicken salad came with a handful of greens with no dressing or croutons as described in the menu. The chicken was placed beside the greens. Probably slightly overpriced in comparison to other venues. The other food item, a chicken sandwich was good, although the choices in sandwiches was extremely limited. The bill was paid on the credit card reader with my tip of 20%. I asked for a printed receipt and saw that the 20% was calculated on the total bill which included the tax. I guess I was partially tipping the government. That practice is not acceptable nor is it standard. My suggestion would be that when you go, put in your tip manually. read more

Menu seemed enticing. Back patio was really nice. Brussel sprouts are amazing, as is the Mac & cheese with pork belly. But sadly, the burger, which was split between two in our party of 7, made them ferociously sick all night. Grilled chicken sandwich was tasteless. Service was very slow. read more

This place is amazing! Love the selection of beer and wine. The food here is also so yummy! I recommend the cornbread and charred carrots which happen to be a couple of my favorites! Inside is more of a bar like atmosphere (in my opinion) but they have an amazing outdoor patio where you can relax and hang out. Oh, the service has always been exceptional -- everyone is super friendly and very knowledgeable of their food and drink offerings. Our group walked in the first time and we immediately smelled that restaurant-greasyfood-stick-to-your-clothes icky not-fresh smell that signifies they don't clean the grill exhaust system regularly. Not fun after you've taken a nice shower and smell pretty for date night and you leave smelling like greasy fries. So we moved to their nice outdoor patio. On a high note, their burger was great albeit a bit pricey, the carbonara and salmon and polenta dinner was fab. Low note included the allergy- laden stems that fell from the overhang tree onto my plate from dining out the patio. Nice friendly folks though that offer attentive service. Hubby says we may be back if we can get better seating. read more

This place is delicious! We started at the lake Travis resort and took an early lunch here. Everything is local and so tasty!

This was our first time going to this restaurant and all I have to say is YOU HAVE TO GO!!! The food was amazing, and reasonably priced for the portions you receive. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff was so friendly!! And there is live music!! We sat outside on the patio, and what a great time we all had. Our new favorite restaurant! Amazing, scrumptious food. Great service. Good for date night or kid night. Went first with just adults and had a blast, savored every bite. Chef Nate made sure we were enjoying our meals and they were extra careful about my food allergy. Went with the kids next, seated on the huge back patio with live music and my 5 year old exclaimed "this is the best pasta I've ever had in my life!" Their BURGER is the best burger in town. Be sure to order it with the perfectly cooked over easy egg. Everything is great. Fried black rice or seared salmon with polenta, you can't go wrong. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Renee and Claire behind the bar are very knowledgeable on all beers and wine. Didn't get a chance to try food, but the folks next to us highly recommended the Chicken and Pancakes (which looked amazing). The beer selection is great, lots of IPAs. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. They also have a shaded patio, which is where you'll find me over the next few months. read more

Lovely patio, great beer selection, but the food is way over priced. I got the Asian chop salad with shrimp. The salad is served in a small salad bowl and you are charged $7 for four shrimp. I will say the shrimp were seasoned well and the salad was good, but I wouldn't pay $18 for it again. Our party of four tried 3 of the 4 dessert choices. Cheesecake, lemon bars , and bread pudding, all freshly made. All of them were yummy. My favorite, however, was the bread pudding. The chef and waitstaff are great. Everything we had was tasty. We ordered the appetizer special of the night which was broccoli with a mixture of goat cheese and cream cheese gratin for dipping. This set the tone for the evening of great food to come. I could go dish by dish, but that's not me. In my opinion most places mail it in for veggies. I typically do not like carrots (raw or cooked). Their roasted carrots were the star of the show. Don't get me wrong the steak skewers were seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the attention to detail on everything else was on point. Huge beer selection, nice wine list, great waiter....we will DEFINITELY be back! I am going to crave the kale salad...added avocado and chicken. It was soooo good!
