Met up with some friends here. We sat outside at the picnic tables. I guess there was no waitress assigned to our table. So we got our drinks and food from the bar. Band that was playing, phenomenal. I'm sorry I didn't get their name. But they rocked the music and the audience was eating it up. Journey! Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, Elton John, No Doubt, Pink. Lady Gaga. All the stuff that gets you in a good mood. It was blazing hot and humid, but the breeze was fantastic. I got the watermelon colada. Didn't have a strong watermelon taste. But the coconut part of the drink was refreshing. I thought it was a great drink overall. I also got the chicken quesadilla. I wish I took a picture of it. But I was starved. It was cut up in triangles with sour cream and salsa in small containers. Was delicious. And would totally get it again. Great food. Great drink, fantastic band. What made it fun was we had a good waitress Adriana and we watched the Detroit Tigers play Cincinnati Reds! Got a variety of wings, beer and had a good time! The service was great. Came here today with my brother to watch the Longhorns game. The restaurant was super busy (standing room only); however, we lucked out and got a table. The outside has lots of tables, Astro Turf area, big screen TV. Best place in Bee Cave to watch games! Our server was great! She was super nice and worked so hard today! All the servers were so busy and did a great job! We ordered a couple drinks and had boneless buffalo wings with fries. They were excellent! The chicken was cooked perfectly. I'd order them again! The smash burger was unremarkable and very small. The fries were actually good and plenty. I like the band playing 80's music, but when they opened up the garage door, without asking, we couldn't hear each other talk. Sitting enjoying a cold beer. Ordered another draft, Maribeth says there is no more tap beer because our cooler is broken. I said: I am ok with it as my last beer was cold 5 min ago. Pour me another. I can't sir. Why? I am just supposed to say I can't. New menu. Italian Chop sandwich was recommended 3 visits ago. We all hate menu changes. It was awesome. The next time, it was a no chop salad sandwich. I ate it and mentioned it to my bartender. Not Meredith. She said everything is off and every sandwich is different. "I told my manager and he doesn't care". Leadership issues. Not staff issues. Service was great, this place will struggle until they get a leader/team/win.... I'll venture to guess the numbers suck. Unfortunately each time I visit here it just gets worse. We were at Woodys earlier this evening arriving at 7:30. It had been raining but there were customers already sitting outside waiting for the band to start. We saw a server out and about but never came to our table or the table next to us. Someone from a neighboring table even went inside looking for the server. They left at 8:00 and we left right after that. No one should have to wait 30 minutes for a menu. They are great when they choose to serve you. It takes minimum 15 minutes for a waitress to check up on you. I have waited tables before and wouldn't feel right making eye contact with a table and then continuing my conversation with another server while I have been waiting 20+ minutes to order. Maybe they are under staffed and I am understanding of that. read more

One of my least favorite things to do is write a bad review but this place is lucky I am even giving it a 1 star (zero options to give it 0 stars). Was just heading over to enjoy my evening after a great afternoon. Wanted to enjoy some chips and salsa, a few beers, and a nice entree. I let the waiter know I was looking forward to eating some chips and salsa and gave her my beer order. I got a pile of chips and salsa and went through the salsa really quick as it's not that much plus it's not even hot. I asked the waitress if I could get some more salsa and she told me it would be $4 for a refill of salsa. I was thrown back. I asked her if that was correct and she said she would ask again. She spoke with the manager and he told her because of the amount of free chips we get it would cost $4 for a refill of salsa or I could order the chips & salsa again for $8. At this point I was thrown back. I told the waitress I would like my check and to speak to the manger about the situation. The manger came and met me and told me this isn't a Mexican restaurant and they don't hand out free salsa. I'm also Mexican btw. Don't know if he was implying anything but I told him it was ridiculous that they would charge $4 for 2oz of salsa. He said it was a corporate thing and they have to do it. I asked him nicely again to if there was any way I could get a refill and he said it would be $4. To make a long story short told him I would have spent an additional $20-$30 on food and beer if he would have just given me 2oz of salsa. Instead I decided to leave and let him know I would never be spending my money here again. Lost a lifelong customer as I have been here 10 times in the last 2 months and have never once been charged for a refill of salsa. Blows my mind that this would happen. We have dropped into Woody's a few times after work for dinner. It's a great little neighborhood bar. The Cheeseburger Egg Rolls did not sound good, but let me tell you, a-maz-ing. You get enough of them that you honestly don't need ANYTHING else, but you know we ate more anyway. The Firecracker Shrimp is really darn good, too. My husband said that the Fried Green Tomatoes are good, too, but they were out when I was there. Boo! I plan to make additional trips and I'll update you on the other nosh options. read more

OK, who would've guessed that the best burger in the Bee Cave/Lakeway area would be at Little Woodrow's?! I popped in for lunch -- was hungry so thought I would try. Outstanding! The bread tasted like it was fresh out of the oven; the patty was huge (but not greasy!); the lettuce and tomato tasted farm-fresh; and the shoestring fries were excellent. Service was great! (And can I get a "Amen" for a bathroom w/ tons of stalls?!) Tons of parking. You can run your errands in the same shopping center. 17(!!) tv's. What's not to love?! read more

We've been coming to Woody's for about a year and every time we are here it has been a great experience. The servers are always really friendly and always remember what we like to drink. A nice cold beer greets us every time. They have switched owners and it's not changed the great service and food. Love the live music on the weekends. They have a nice seating area and it's best to arrive a little early even though most every place is a good place. Game day can be fun and a little crowded which always makes for a really busy kitchen. The servers always know it out of the park with fast service. One of my favorite appetizers is the Gator Bites...Oh and the bacon wrapped shrimp. They love my father in law. They know he has dementia so they are always so kind to him. We just moved in the area from Illinois to lakeway about a month ago. Came to this place and absolutely fell in love with the vibe and service. Michael was our bartender who was very attentive. We met the manager David who recommended the food. We ordered the fried pickles which were amazing along with some other great plates. Manager was very friendly and inviting which brought us back here today. The manager greeted us when we walked in the door. 10/10 it's nice to feel at home with a friendly neighborhood bar. read more

Woodys...woodys..woodys Been in the area for a decade. Woodys has always been THE bar to go to. At this point I've been through so much with woodys it felt like home. Love the bartenders, especially Mike and Tyler (the og's) - but all the other bartenders (I can't remember the names of) are all amazing The 1 star comes from my experience here a few weeks ago. I was here with my boyfriend (also a lakeway native that has been frequenting woodys for the past 6 years). We were having our drinks. Chatting it up with Mike when a random man approached us aggressively. He grabbed my boyfriends hand and demanded he leave - stating he had to remove his pocket knife before he returned. We were in shock. After 6 years of coming into woodys, a hill COUNTRY bar, with country folk. Saying we were not welcome at a bar we both have brought an abundance of business to .... The disrespect and utter incompetence of where this manager was left us in disbelief. To top it off - when I reference I've been through a lot at this bar - there was one night I was here and a fight broke out. I ended up getting grabbed by the neck at the bar by another patron (annoying blonde old man that still goes there to this day) and no one did anything about it. Woodys corporate management - let us know when you want to do better and accept you are a bar manager in the Texas hill county and issue us an apology. Usually regulars but the last two times we've been In the service has sucked I ordered a Cesar salad and it was room temp, yuck! Now today 5:30 I seat my self per usual and waited in a booth for around 15 minutes with no service/ help nor could I find anyone to help me besides the bar so I left. If you can get passed the racist jokes thrown around by the bartender. (He's black so I guess it's fine right?) you'll probably enjoy the food. Review during Covid19 "extra safety measures" time: There are those that are pro mask-wearing right now, and those that are searching for places with less strict guidelines. Woody's falls under the last category. No one will question you if you are not wearing a mask, no one will stop you if you walk into the bar area or bathrooms without a mask, and although the waiters have masks on, a few of them wear them loosely below their noses. Tables outside are socially distanced, however the general vibe is "anything goes". We were there on Saturday night (6/20), and there was over 15 dancers in front of the outdoor stage dancing to Hair Metal Giants. There was a large gathering of about 8 different couples all mingling about and standing close to other tables with no one saying a word to them. Beers were served in normal glasses, silverware was not disposable, and the check was brought in a vinyl holder with a pen on top. When we asked for napkins we were brought a paper towel roll with smudges all over it. Woody's is a place that we frequented many times over last summer. Great place to sit outside, see a local band and have a Cold Beer & Burger. Their Woody's Burger is awesome! Staff is always nice. But we are in different times now. I give this review in an honest way for those wanting to make decisions about where to go during this coronavirus pandemic. Choice is a good thing. What happened to this place? Been coming here for almost a decade (since my HS days). Chicken tenders have been amazing... Crispy, hot, delicious. They really fell off recently. The service is so inconsistent at this restaurant. Today, the staff are all acting like it's their worst day in history. Very unpleasant. The kitchen is slower than molasses and there is very little food going out. Yes it's a football playoff game but customers are being nice and not doing anything to the staff. Woody's is a great place to spend a Friday afternoon on the patio or to watch Monday night football. Their selection of beers is quite impressive. Both draft and on bottles. The food is reasonable, but that's not the reason you come to Woddy's anyway. Our burgers were good, not exceptional. There was live music as most weekends, which was a lot of fun. The patio is dog friendly. There were families with little kids, groups of friends, and people of all ages. Service was great. The prices are very reasonable. Overall we had a very nice evening and enjoyed our time with the live music. We will come back. read more

"MINI SHRIMP TOSTADA" the menu lists this as 5 mini tortillas.... they weren't lying although they were really talking about CHIPS. The chip size portions were very tasty... even had a bit of a kick. HOWEVER, it was one piece of shrimp placed on ONE CHIP x5 lol the chip was the "mini tortilla" $13 for 5 chips and 5 pieces of shrimp... I'll leave it at that. read more

It's says a lot about a bar when I go there just for the food. The burgers, fries and salads are way above average here. I like the Woodies burgers; sub sweet Asian sauce for house dressing. It's always perfect. I'm never too full or still hungry after. The patty melt rocks it also. The salads are a HUGE surprise in a great way. How does a bar have better salads then most restaurants? I mean, really, they are that good, fresh and presented well. Honorable mention to the fries. I "try" not to eat fries but somehow, from time to time, they end up flying into mouth. read more

I recently came upon Woody's at the invite of some friends to watch a local band last week, and came away impressed by both the music and the place. I have no history save the one visit. It's a sports bar at heart, with virtually every inch of wall space covered with big-screen TVs featuring the day's sports coverage. If that's what you're into, they've probably got what you want. You can sit outside or inside, and there are bandstands at both locations, weather permitting. Outside, the octagonal tables are a tight and very uncomfortable fit, so you might want to try the other seating offered. Seating improves inside, but if you're here for music, it's easy to be accidentally in those coveted front-row seats. I had an appetizer of gator bites, along with a salad. Both were as expected, no surprises. They have a reasonable wine list that pulls up short in a couple of areas--but it is a sports bar after all. Beer and hard liquor are more their forte. Overall, I was pleased and would go back for another band/dining experience anytime. read more

For us Woody's is the closest bar and we tend to go there to catch a game/music or when we want to grab a beer and bar food. Our kids enjoy the food as well and it's not a horrible place to take the kids on a nice day although there isn't a great setup for children outside which is probably intentional as it would change the vibe. Our challenge with Woody's is service is just consistently slow especially if you're sitting outside though, which this time of year is the place to be. It always takes 5-10 minutes to be greeted and for what are not complex menu items I've become used to sandwiches and fries taking 30 minutes to prepare. We've also had numerous instances where food doesn't come out correctly. On 2 different recent incidents I've had to send back sandwiches that I requested with no mayo. I believe these issues to be kitchen related, and not the server. The beer is always cold and they have a great selection, so they've got that down and service at the bar is typically prompt. We will continue to go to Woody's but with realistic expectations on the quality of service we'll receive. read more

Grant it that it was a busy Sunday but we waited over 45 minutes to even order a drink and the food took a crazy long time. We sat around several different groups who were also as disappointed as us.
