I am new to the Livermore area and wasn't exactly won over by the classic or "go to" spots, so on a Friday night I popped into this place and didn't regret it. There was a bit of a wait as I went during the dinner rush, but it was worth it and the staff were attentive and accommodating (I had 6 kiddos with me). Tried this place for the first time with on an outing with coworkers. It's a really great place! It has over twenty beers on tap and the food is really good too. I had the macaroni balls and brussel sprouts. The macaroni balls were really crispy on the outside and soft, chewy, and cheesey on the inside. The brussel sprouts were crispy, balcony, and flavorful. They had a little to much balsamic vinegar for my taste, but still really good. I will definitely be coming back again with friends and/or family! read more

I can't believe it's been so long since I've come back! I came here yesterday for drinks with a friend. I love the face that I can pour my own drinks and decide how much I want. I tried a sour beer and a cider. I loved the cider-it was a strawberry pineapple cider. It was pretty sweet, but I didn't pour tooo much so to me it was worth it! Yummy appetizers, like this balsamic glazed brussels sprouts with parmesan-cheese traditional comes with bacon, but I asked them to remove it. Cool idea. Self pour beer with a decent selection. You have to walk up to three counter to order cocktails and food but the beer you grab a glass, tap your issued card, and pour the account you want. What to like...? Everything we seen and tasted! 1st, they have a wall of self serve beers on tap with a cool card you scan and pay by the ounce; so you get to try everything... dry cool! Food....I've had a few different hongs here and everything has been great. For the best possible dish - go for the Korean tacos!! They were epic! Side note though, the tacos are street taco size and you get three. 4 would be perfect but three is fine with dessert! For dessert, probably the best ice cream I've ever had, served with custard filled churros that were cooked to perfection! It's a total s...show. The poor people (3) of them were so sweet but you walk in and they give you 2 plain white plastic cards? Then they put your credit card on file & point you to another place in the back of the restaurant to order. They give you your drinks there and a # stand for your table. Then you order your food. My Chinese Chicken salad had a dressing not Asian, not sure what it was, spicy. Later as someone walked by I asked for a desert menu & they brought the same plastic menu that had Jce cream fried or ice cream with sauce as the only choices. Server NEVER CAME BACK. Needed a refill on club soda but food runner was flustered by this request. A fresh drink made its way to table. Pretty good vibe for a Saturday night spot. Not too jammed packed and not too sparse. Was able to get a table without having to wait. You go to the counter to get a tab going and they give you a card to swipe at the self serve beer area. Also order food at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to your table. Pay at the end after you've finished drinking and eating. For the beer area, you can get sample sizes and dont have to get a full pour. ~38 beers to pick from and ciders. I got the pineapple guava cider. For food, we shared the hummus and fish tacos. TVs mounted around to watch the game. Board games too if you want to play a game while drinking. Beer Drinker's Dream! I may not be a beer drinker myself, but I know enough of them to know this place is basically heaven on earth. You get a wristband when you come in and then just scan the beer you want and pour. All beers are priced by Taste, Half, Full Glass. Most seemed very reasonable priced $2 for taste, $4 for half glass, $7.50 for full, although I did see some as high as $25 for a full glass (12% alcohol). I also saw 2 wines and 1 cider. My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience here! We are bigger wine drinkers than beer drinkers and it definitely turned us on to beer tasting. Big menu with a large variety of different types of beer for everyone! I recommend getting a flight of different types of beer then grab your favorite for a second drink!:) their food paired perfectly with the drinks. The atmosphere is great, they rotate the beers enough that I'm not getting board going back and they even have cider and wine. The staff is externally patient with people having issues pouring their beverages. The auto dispenser displays a max allotment which I've haven't reached yet, but it taunts me - as if challenging me to stay and keep pouring until they cut me off. Oh, you must try the sausages. We've enjoyed the food and being able to sample various beers many times in the past. Would have given 5 stars except for a recent experience that has us considering if we'll return or give our patronage to other of the many downtown restaurants options in the future. 1. This evening we stopped in for some food, beer and a cocktail. I asked the female bartender for a cocktail to be made with vodka instead of gin and she said she wouldn't substitute an alcohol in a cocktail for me. Are they pre-made cocktails making it impossible to do? No! Is there a price difference for a shot of Vodka instead of gin? No! I have been able to make this substitution many times in the past. So why not? Power trip?! I ended up paying for a drink that I didn't like as much. 2. we ordered fried Mac and cheese balls which the menu indicates comes with beer cheese AND marinara sauce. When it arrived at our table there was no cheese sauce. I asked the server and was told it no longer comes with the cheese sauce. Were they out of it? No (note they still serve it with their pretzels). I point out that the menu (both online and print version) says it still comes with cheese sauce and the server apologizes and walks off. when a customer specifically asks for what their menu says was included and what they definitely have in the kitchen they decline to provide it. If you advertise it's included, you have it on hand and a customer makes a request for it the answer should not be "no" until you update your menus. All in all just poor customer service this evening. the bartender and server seemed unable to think for themselves and ask themselves "what makes sense here?", "what if I was this customer?l, etc. TBD if we'll be visiting this establishment again. read more

An awesome new spot in Downtown Livermore that offers a casual sports bar environment (complete with TVs) and is family friendly. Genius concept to put 15+ self pour beer taps with great selection from local breweries as well as some more well known ones. Just check in at the front counter and get a wristband that you can scan at your chosen tap to get your glass filled. They even have some wine on tap if beer isn't your thing. We also ordered both burgers - aptly named the Hops Burger and the Sessions Burger - and they were both delicious! Nice shiny brioche bun with juicy beef patties and delicious toppings. Great value for the burger and fries or burger and yummy wedge salad for $15 all up. I'll certainly be back! read more

I really, truly, loved this place. They have a great selection of beer, wine and cider on tap - and I really wish I lived closer! I enjoyed the "self serve" style of this taproom with the high-tech bracelets that let you pay by the ounce. Great new place in Livermore for beer, cider, food (and there's a small wine offering as well.) At the door you will be asked for a credit card which will be linked to a wrist band- that band is your ticket to try all the beers and ciders. You hold the circle on your wrist band up to the circle under the beer you want and the top of the sign will light up- green- and then you can select a "taste" a "half" or a full" drink. When we were there you could try a huge selection- white beers, ales, porters, ciders, fruit beers- just about anything you could want. Tables are available- both bar chair tables and tables with regular chairs. And there's a nice menu. We had the sausage platter (18 dollars, 3 large sausages and condiments) and we tried the burger- huge and delicious, 15 dollars. There was a hummus platter, fish tacos, and lots of other choices. Everything everyone ordered at our table looked good. We were a party of 7 so we took one of the big tables. It's a nice place to go with a big group. But it does get LOUD. So if you want somewhere quiet, or even of average noise level, this is NOT the place to go (and we were there in the afternoon- I assume it gets packed at night.) Parking outside is on the street (1st Street)- you may have to park behind the place off of first street- which gets pretty packed. I think this building used to be an equipment rental place- it's much nicer as Hops and Sessions ( pretty much across from Sauced and the Bankhead- if you're trying to locate it.) Service was great. You'll be given a table number when you order your food at the counter- and then it will be brought to you. It is easily handicapped accessible- it's all flat, and a wheelchair could easily roll up to one of the low tables. They've done a great job with this place, It's a really nice addition to the Livermore downtown. read more
