They were able to make recommendations that actually ended up saving me quite a bit of money, and sent me home with extra copies in case I needed them. What a lifesaver! I was on Yelp, desperately looking for a company who could print a vinyl banner for me the same day. Since I was at work and unable to make phone calls, I saw another printing company that responsed to requests for quotes in 30 min. I typed up a brief note and hit send. Yelp asked me if I wanted the request sent to other print shops. I thought, "Why not?" and clicked yes. And I'm so glad I did! Rod messaged me in less than 30 minutes. He provided me a detailed quote and gave me instructions on exactly how to move forward. The price was right in line with what I was hoping to pay for an order completed on such a short notice. I sent the files and Don responded with a proof in less than an hour. The total process took a little over an hour (much of the delay on my end because I was working) and I was able to pick up my completed banner two hours after that! I really can't say enough about this place. Kelly, Don, John, and Rod are super friendly, welcoming, and just all around great to work with. I have used Hoover twice now in the last year or so, and I am beyond impressed with their professionalism and print quality - not to mention their speed of service. In both instances, my prints were ready the next day, and one of the was a gift that I had ordered right before Christmas Eve. The best thing is that they treat small jobs with as much care and concern as they would larger jobs. I am sure they do business with companies that order thousands of prints, but they treated me and my one-off print like it was an important order. It's clear that they do this for everyone and probably don't even think it's that big of a deal, but that just shows how great they are. And another thing - I have worked with a few printers over the years, and I can't tell you how refreshing it is to find one that actually knows how to handle art files. All I had to do was send them my Adobe file, and they took care of it from there. My prints in both cases came out exactly how the art looked on my computer screen, which again is not always the case with other printers. I have had some really strange stuff come back from printers in the past where it looks nothing like my original art. It's obvious when a printer is just a printer and has no eye for design. That is not the case here at all. I'll be back here for sure the next time I need a print, especially now that I know that they do art books as well. read more

They are pretty responsive. Their prices are a bit high but certainly not the worst. However my main beef with them is after spending over $1000 in services including labor for design time they then refused to give me the design file and instead held it hostage to try to force me to place more orders with them. I didn't want to get them online and have that glossy look that so many people have these days, I wanted real old school professional looking business cards where you can feel the quality of the card. I emailed some images I wanted on the card to Don at Hoover Printing, and drove over there. I got to sit in a chair next to his desk and say exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want. I recently moved to Costa Mesa from Hollywood where I do alot of writing and preproduction remotely for films. I called to get a quote on an easy 60 page script print out, black and white, single sided. Boom. $55. +20 if I wanted it hole punched... what?! It would be $10 at kinkos! How does that even make sense?!! You can't call yourself a print shop if you don't cater to all prints. Bad service, Bad Pricing, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how ridiculous that is. For that amount, I could buy a cheap little printer to print out 500 pages or more. read more

Went down to Newport for the day before going to a hockey game at Staples Center. Driving from my hometown above Bakersfield realized in the middle of LA that I had forgotten the tickets. This was the first place I saw to call. Even though they were a digital printing place they were so kind and let us use their computers to print our tickets.
