He then went into politics and that is when I stepped in. He was ruining what could've been a great dinner. When I challenged him for his behavior he then started questioning my parenting. Hooters on Huguenot Rd is excellent. We frequent Hooters and do experience some "off" days in the kitchen but overall the experience is great. We recently went on 8/8 and enjoyed the all you can eat wings that are currently going on until Sept sometime. They were cooked perfectly and sauces great (we like our wings saucy). The staff is very friendly and attentive. Craig is an excellent manager and attentive to his workers and his visitors. Kelsey behind the bar is awesome. We love her and enjoy sitting at the bar when she is working. Tonight was around my 4th time at this Hooters, and it wont be my last. Their smoked wings are to die for! My fiancé and I both got 10 smoked wings each; 5 Jerk which were especially spicy today, but delicious none the less & 5 Texas BBQ which were especially salty today, but as juicy as ever. There are only 3 dry rub options, but you can have them tossed in any sauce you please! Our server(s) tonight were very efficient! One was in training and was kind of nervous.. her trainer seemed to be a bit on the strict side, saying things like "what did you forget?" "You need to ask them another question" but they worked well as a team and continuously checked on us to see how we were doing, if we needed anything, etc. The only negatives to this evening were the bickering waitresses throwing around the F-bomb like a sentence flavor enhancer & the bar tender (directly across from our table) SCREAMING across the floor for a manager to pick up line one. I came in to place an order to go and was shocked at the behavior of the bar waitress(caucasian woman) who should have been assisting a DoorDash delivery driver. She blatantly ignored his arrival notification and inquiry of whether his customers food was available for pickup. Before he could finish his question she would yell out, "its not ready yet!". I watched her do the same to another DoorDash driver, however, she assisted Grubhub drivers and regular customers as they came in and made inquiries. The whole time there was a food container on the counter and it was for his customer. That man waited for 30 minutes while the food just sat on the counter. Utterly disgusting. I wish hadn't already purchased my food, but my family and I will never be back. Unkind treatment to anyone is horrible but he was also a service worker like herself; she should know better. Went to Hooters with my bud for a dinner mid-week on a Wednesday around 8:30pm. The place was nearly empty and no one seated us, so we sat ourselves down in front of the bar. No service for 30 minutes before I had to walk to manager and ask if they were closed or were refusing us service. He replied they were short staffed, but when I looked around at waitstaff, they were goofing off and paying what other customers where there all their attention. The waitress that came to us walked by us earlier in evening and wouldnt glance over noticing we were sitting at an empty table with menus in our hand. She was mostly unattentive. Once food was brought out my food was undercooked. I was served cold boneless wings with a drizzle of wing sauce and old and hardened curly fries. When the manager on duty stopped by to ask how food was, I showed him the food and within 10 minutes I had a plate of warm TINY boneless wings and fries. In my experience, when the restaurant performs poorly they usually apologize. None here. Some even comp the meal as a nice gesture and recognition of failure on their part to proudly serve their food warm and timely. Here after the 30 minute wait, no apology for the wait, being ignored, and being served cold food, their way to make things right was using the short staff excuse. Next time when I hear those words, I'll eat elsewhere where they want to have dining guests and have the staff to properly attend to dining guests. The waitress only came back once for a refill but was mostly non-existent. Would I go back there? NO!! Should you? Prolly not unless you are a regular and get special treatment. Since the local management lost their control of the these Hooters and corporate has taken control, they have spruced them up. New floors, flat screens and completely non smoking! Very nice upgrade. South Side even has a pool table. Just spoke with the manager and they are going to do more renovations to the bar areas. Keep it up! New look and new menu. read more

For being a Wing place they actually have pretty bad wings. They are too small, usually pretty dry except the flood of sauce poured over them, and never really flavorful enough. The service is awful, usualy a museum of "cold sores". They even claim to be a "Family Restaurant"??? Ok, who am I kidding? This is your average run of the mill Hooters and here is my review. The Good: The Food- I ordered Fish and Chips and the food was not only hot, but it had a decent taste to it. I usually order the wings, but I wanted to be daring and try something new. Prices- Its Hooters, so the prices are reasonable. The Bad: The Deception- The name of the place is Hooters, which could be slang for an Owl or a set of big bodacious bahama mamas. Neither were present at the restaurant. The server with the biggest bust size was probably a 34 BBB. While I dont discriminate against women with small chesticals, at a place called hooters, the lack of hooters could be deemed false advertisement. The Service- It took 5 minutes to be seated and give my drink order when the restaurant was at 35% capacity. The food also took a while to come out. Overall: If you like chicken wings that are sold at a reasonable price and you like to watch sports outside of the home, this is the place for you. If you are looking to take some of your church members to an elegant venue for lunch or dinner, you might want to stick with Red Lobster. THREE STARS. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch today with my brother who was visiting from Florida. It was a drizzly Sunday afternoon and the place was nearly dead... only about a dozen or so cars in the parking lot, and no doubt some of those were the staff's. We were greeted and seated promptly by a very attractive young lady. She came back to take our order shortly thereafter. My brother ordered a burger & fries ($9) and I ordered spinach salad with shrimp (new menu item -- $9). Our drinks arrived shortly thereafter, but our food took about 20+ mins. Strange, since the restaurant appeared to be fully staffed and there were fewer than 20 customers in the whole place. The nice thing about the restaurant not being very crowded was the noise level was manageable (it gets very loud when there's a crowd). During our wait, our server stopped by a couple times to check on us, but never offered an explanation or apology for the tardy food. However, when it finally arrived, the food was quite tasty. I live less than 3 miles away and used to frequent this restaurant at least 2 times a month about 8-9 yrs ago. Now I stop by maybe once a year... mostly when I have an out-of-town (male) guest visiting. The restaurant's "scenery" is still quite pleasant and the prices are reasonable. Not sure what was up with the long wait for our food today, but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal. read more

This is one of those gray areas where the food is pretty good, but the service is down right terrible. So food aside, you get staff that are VERY slow at taking the order, preparing the order, delivering the order to the table, checking on you, and cashing you out. You also get servers who can't properly split checks, have the intelligence of a 3rd grader and down right just don't care. To boot, management is just as bad. If you want a good experience and have some Hooters food, i STRONGLY recommend you check out one of the other locations close by. Ok, let's be honest... I love this Hooters. My boyfriend and I are quite the regulars. The beer is always cold and the food is always hot. Sam, Amanda, Mia and Nicki are four of our favorite ladies... But we have never had bad service regardless of who we have as a hostess with the mostest. The restaurant was revamped about a year ago, so it doesn't have that old school ring it, sling it feel... But all the principles are still there and the girls are still very attentive. The restaurant is also family friendly, which is nice because a lot of sports bar style restaurants are not. Just FYI, spiced shrimp is always on point... Best Wings are hot and naked but Daytona style, trust me on this!!! read more

My cousin is visiting us from out of the country and we decided to bring him to Hooters to experience the iconic restaurant. We were given the various menus and made our selection based off of the advertised happy hour deals given the fact that we got to the restaurant during that designated time. We ordered a pitcher of beer, two buffalo platters, the beer and cheese pretzels, and a platter with fried pickles, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. The first issues pertained to each of the buffalo platters. My wings were undercooked and rubbery, and the wings on the other platter were burned to a crisp. This blew my mind because A) Hooters is supposed to be famous for their wings and B) the restaurant was far from busy so it's not as if the kitchen was slammed and the cooks did not pay attention to our food. I was VERY disappointed (the only good thing was that there was other food to get full on). The second issue arose when we were given the check. The entire time we were under the impression that we were ordering teasers for a discounted price as listed in the happy hour menu. Everything but the beer cheese was at full price. I was just about to talk to the waitress about this mistake when I revisited the menus and in THE TINIEST fine print on the separate happy hour leaflet menu, it mentioned that the buffalo platters were excluded. Way to trick your customers, Hooters, "good" on you. They listed the tiny fine print on one menu and sent the customer to a different one to make a selection thinking they were getting a deal. Also, given the fact that we explicitly asked what the happy hour deals were - one would assume that the waitress would inform us of any excluded items and/or details. Instead, she held back information that mislead our interpretation of the circumstances. At the time, I ultimately decided not to make a fuss about the situation since the error took place on our end but I will tell you this - as a paying customer, I do not respect the decisions to trick me and others who very likely have made the same mistake. I also do not appreciate the lack of attention in their product and having paid close to $100 for both undercooked, and overcooked, overrated wings. Let's just say my intent to "impress" my cousin and show him "great wings" failed miserably and we have 0 interest in returning. read more

This is going to be a challenging review to write, because there are so many factors at play in our visit. First of all, our family has a tradition of celebrating birthdays with a dinner at any restaurant of the birthday persons' choice. My daughter-in-law chose Hooters for her celebration last night because she loves their wings. Even though it's 120 miles away, this Hooters is the closest to where we live so automatically we're looking at a three-hour round-trip. Despite the distance, we've eaten at this restaurant a number of times before and have always found it to be very good. So far as food is concerned, this trip was no exception. All four of us ordered something different, both to eat and to drink. We also ordered two appetizers. The food was delivered to the table hot and the drinks were cold, just as they should be. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately, SOMETHING was wrong in the kitchen. After waiting and waiting, our appetizers finally arrived at the table one hour and twenty minutes after we were seated! Our dinner wasn't too far behind it, for which we were thankful. I do not review waitresses based on their appearance, even at Hooters. Jessica is gorgeous and sexy just like any Hooters girl SHOULD be, but the true measure of her people skills is that she was absolutely sweet and charming throughout an evening that had the makings of a disaster. Quite frankly, she is the reason we didn't just walk out. She checked back repeatedly and apologized for the problem (which was certainly not her fault), kept us in drinks, and even insisted on bringing her manager over to talk to us. The manager was pleasant, she also apologized, and she comped us our desserts. Fair enough. I passed that savings along to Jessica in the form of a bigger tip. I also told the manager that Jessica IS the only reason we didn't just leave. All I can do is hope they realize what a treasure they have in her! A final word: the star rating is misleading because it doesn't offer a way to truly evaluate our experience. I would put it like this: the food was definitely 5 stars. Jessica would get 10, if that's possible. Overall service would be 1 star but only because you can't give 0. A great big "thank you" to Jessica for turning a disappointing experience into a nice celebration after all. read more

I came out to Hooters with family to watch the NBA basketball games.I ordered some wings,which were average.The wings were overly greasy .So much grease made the wings flavorless.The blue cheese sauce was watered down to much.The one bright spot was the drinks.The bartender did a good job preparing our drinks.Our service was average at best.Hooters wasn't packed and our waiter was slow returning to our table.She was friendly.The atmosphere was social and very loud.I was expecting a better experience from Hooters.Personally,I will stick to a sports bar to enjoy NBA basketball. read more
