Visited, a week ago, on a Friday evening. It was not packed or busy. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I sat at the bar and ordered an Ever After. It was very refreshing and delicious. I ordered to-go. The fries are reminiscent of Checkers/Rally's. I enjoy those fries and these are good, as well. I chose to try the Southern Hospitality. I love pimento cheese. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the pimento cheese was delicious. A tad messy, in a good way. I would definitely go back. The inside is skirts bar. Very relaxed and all. Game Plan opened earlier this year in Midlothian, and I made sure to visit during their holiday popup. Wow - they went allll out, it's so well done! It's a sports bar, so it can get pretty loud. I was grateful we were sat in the back corner, especially as that gave me a perfect viewpoint to admire all of the decor. The food was just as great. I ordered the crunchy club wrap with a side caesar, plus the "Grinch" deviled eggs (avocado) and their rice krispie treat special, which ended up being pecan. I got a to-go box for the krispie treat and had to crush it down so it'd fit...it's genuinely quite large. The festive holiday cocktail I ordered (velvet slopes) was soooo good too. Not boozy at all, either. Our server was sweet and prompt, and everyone we encountered was friendly. We arrived around open for lunch, which was perfect as the space filled up rather quickly. There is parking but make sure you don't park across the street from the restaurant. Upon walking in there are TVs everywhere and plenty of seating. We sat at the bar and were greeted. They have a good draft beer selection though I had a unsweetened ice tea and my wife had a lemonade. Both were good. We ordered the soft pretzel and we saw it come up at the window as ready but it took the staff a few minutes to come and put it in a hook for our table. It was hot and good. The cheese was a little too runny for me. I ordered the turkey and bacon wrap and my wife got the chicken tenders. She was not impressed with her tenders though my wrap was good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. We were there at lunch in a Saturday and it took us a while to get our check to leave. I'd like to give it another shot but the team there needs to work together to provide more timely service. read more

A 1st time here- I LIKE IT.. were trying a lot of stuff. Normally we wouldn't eat this much. So here we go. The Motz sticks are outstanding and the sauce is spot on. Wife had the cauliflower- good and garlicky if you get the garlic. On a Side note the fries are really good. Crunchy on the outside and well seasoned.. The dipping blue cheese sauce has real chunks of cheese. My wife had a "Golden Hour" cocktail and it was light tasty and just a faintest hint on the sweet side. My millers were only $5. Unfortunately our eyes were bigger than our stomachs so we didn't have the main dishes. All the handhelds looked good. We tried some of the sauces and the Garlic Buffalo was spot on and the sweet sizzle was nice. Service was very attentive. The stadium seating in front of the big screen is a nice touch. We gathered at @gameplanbar to celebrate with my bestie as he runs another lap around the sun . It gave all the sports bar vibes and nestled right off Midlothian Trpk (not much past the mall). The highlights of our visit: our waiter Abenezer was simply amazing and handled our table of 15 with ease, patience and kept a smile on his face! Their HH offerings were cool (3-630p) so I opted to try one of my Sister's signature drinks an old fashion and it was good and strong (shout out to the bartender because our party overall was pleased with their cocktails). We didn't have any showstoppers regarding the food but mostly everything was served hot and fresh which was a plus. As a part of their HH they offer $2 chicken and $3 beef sliders. I ordered the buffalo and the Korean which were ok but I craved more flavor (2.8/5 for both) but the slider buns were amazing! My mom enjoyed her classic beef sliders (cooked and presented well but on the smaller side for sliders 3.8/5). Mimi ordered the jumbo chicken tenders which were huge but all the flavor was in the batter and choice of sauces on the side (3.8/5). The O-rings were your typical run of the mill beer battered variety which doesn't hold temperature so they were lukewarm at best when they came to the table but Abenezer brought out some warmer ones (still not hot) and we just made do. Unfortunately, as hungry as I was I sampled the fries and though they tasted odd, in addition to be gummy and cold. The tenders were burning hot. My son enjoyed the chicken sandwich he got. The sliders were ok and definitely felt a size too small. The chips are decent and a good replacement for the frozen fries. I got the sweet potato tots by accident but they were good. Small menu and feels like everything is fried. This was 2nd trip and it will probably get 1 more. read more

We decided to give this a try during trivia night. Trivia was great, but I have to say the food here was very limited. They really push their sliders and I have to say, these things are just mediocre. Unless something was drawing me here, like trivia, this would not be in my restaurant rotation. It's such a cool little restaurant! It really gives game day vibes, they have TVs all around and they even have stadium seating! The drinks were good & reasonably priced. The fried pickles were very crispy & had good flavor. The buffalo chicken eggrolls were UH-MAZZEE-ING! I've actually never considered chicken dip & eggrolls together, but they did their big one because WOWZA! I was a little confused and disappointed because the chicken tenders I got were not tossed in the sauce, but instead sauce on the side and all the other tables around me got sauced tenders. We even asked our server about this and they said that when the kitchen is busy they'll put the sauce on the side..but the people a few minutes before me and the people a few minutes after me had sauced chicken lol. Icing on the cake...later in conversation our server said that this was a slow day. The egg rolls were good, but the way my stomach was tore up the next day, I don't think I'll ever go back. I placed an order here via DoorDash. I had done this twice. The restaurant botched up my order, but the food is still rather nice. Since I detest drums and legs, I ordered the Sweet Sizzle-All Flats. Instead, they gave me barbecue wings in which I am not a fan of bbq anything. I immediately got in touch with DoorDash to ask if they could reorder and have it delivered or give me a refund for the wings. DoorDash also refused to comply. When I called the restaurant, I was essentially informed that DoorDash would have to take care of issue because it was ordered through a third party and that it was not their concern. If the customer service had been much better, I would have rated them five stars. I had a conversation with a manager and a customer support representative. They didn't accept responsibility for the error, offer an apology, or make an effort to fix it until I pointed out how bad their work was. At that point, he tried to reassure me that they could make it again, but I didn't trust them to make my food again because of their attitude. Without a doubt, I will never again support this location. The food is quite good, therefore it is unfortunate. I hope they take the lesson to heart and improve for upcoming customers. We were in Richmond for the day, headed to a grandson's soccer game. Decided to do an early dinner, and randomly chosen Game Plan as we passed by it on Midlothian. It was a good choice. It was a Friday, about 3:30pm, and there was literally no one at any of the tables in the restaurant, which is too bad. The food was good. To be fair, there were 3 people sitting at the bar, but I don't know if they were eating food or not. My wife had the stiletto salad, and I had the buffalo chicken wrap. We both thought our food was good, and the giant pretzel we ordered for an appetizer was really good. Rob did a good job with our service and was very attentive to us. It's worth a visit, so I hope people start stopping in regularly. read more

Not a great first experience. Looked great, but the burger was very undercooked in the center. Had to eat around it, so I was unable to eat the whole thing. The taste was nothing special. Took the lettuce off because it was brownish black on the edges. Not many onion rings came with it for the price, but the sauce that came with them was tasty. Oatmeal cream pie was good. When you think sports bar, you think bar food. Which is not often the same thing as good. Often Bar food is microwaved or quickly prepared dreck. I am ESTATIC to say, this is bar food in the fact the place has a bar. This is a sports bar in the fact is has a lot of TVs and has some unique setups for Football Sunday. What it serves is NOT "Bar Food". It is on another level. The starter for instance, will make a Vegetarian drool. The fried Califlower was amazing, the Cheese sticks were huge, flavorful, and hot, and there were a few others I didnt try but will. The wings, they were large, fresh, hot and the Buffallo Ranch rub on the grilled wings Amazing. The Handhelds list was equally impressive. Wifes Philly looked and tasted like she got it from a vendor outside Eagles stadium. The Bologna burger was flavorful and the scrumptious. Staff was attentive and great as well. While the vibe is very "Sports Bar" it is in the same way the old Burger Bach was not a Burger joint. It is a sports bar. But where the quality of the food and atmosphere matter. They have something very special here.. and so glad as its so close to me. I plan on being a regular for a while. read more

This location lures you into their establishment with a free entre. But, there is a significant amount of fine print to this free entre. For starters, there are only 5 menu items that this can be redeemed on. In addition, there are specific times that this can be redeemed, and attempting to utilize this voucher outside of those times will result in it not being honored. Also, while the location was not dirty, it also wasn't very clean. This could have been from my visit being on a Thursday evening, but even during other visits at earlier times the location wasn't exactly clean. read more

Terrible service! Our waitress literally acted like we were putting her off just by sitting down. Very aloof. Did not hand the check to us - paid it on the table, no thank you , no refills no cleaning up empty app plates. Unfortunately this set the mood for the visit. And the food was so- so. The menu is very simple- Apps were good, pretzel and nachos. Chili is on the nachos were on the sweet side. The tater tots were overcooked and burned. Philly chicken wrap tasted like pure burnt charcoal. Husband was happy with his bologna slider and smash burger. Lots of TVS and the stadium seating looks pretty nice with the tray tables attached. The food is good. It's bar food. It's the best bar food I've had around here. The manager is nice. The owner is nice. However, there is a they/them(im only saying this because I know of no other way to describe this person) but the way they present themselves made the food unappealing. They are constantly smelling like cigarettes from what seems to be many breaks they take, they have sores/mashed up fingers, and just the overall presentation of this person that is serving food is just unappetizing. I know it seems like I'm singling out a person who has no gender identity, but that's not it... it's the way they present themselves. They are unclean and they make the food unappealing. We thought we'd miss Burger Bach, which Game Plan replaced in this location. But we are happy with the new tenants for sure. The wings are very, very good, and it's one of the best smash burgers in town. Tater tots are also worth having. The service was prompt and friendly. We sat outside and had great service. For food, we had the Italian tatchos, a really unique tater tot and chicken combo that was a hit! We also had the sliders (classic, Korean, and Nashville hot) which were yummy, though the Nashville hot was not Hattie-B's level. The ambience outside was nice, and the weather was good for it. doing trivia there recently. Food in general is good, french fries are excellent. The decorations were very cute and the seasonal menu with it was fun. my alcoholic drinks have been fine in general. My wife gets a tequila drink. She said the price for her double tequila is high compared to other places considering it is a cheaper tequila. She gets silver patron for the same price as game plan cheaper tequila. The staff and the service has been good.
