Meal for 1: Steak kebob, peppers, mushrooms, onions, bed of rice and a side salad with rolls.
    Tina M.

A Late-Night Craving Satisfied! Exhausted from the day and in no mood to cook, I was craving a good, hearty meal--specifically some well-seasoned meat. Unfortunately, most kebab spots were either too far or already closed by 10 PM on a Friday night. But not TXRH! I placed a to-go order and was thoroughly impressed. For just $14.99++, I got a tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned kebob that hit the spot. It came with flavorful yellow rice, a fresh side salad topped with real shredded cheddar cheese and crunchy croutons, plus four large, buttery rolls with their famous cinnamon butter--an absolute treat! Honestly, I couldn't have picked up the same ingredients unprepared at Publix for the price. I've spent more than this on a drive-thru order at Taco Bell and wasn't nearly as satisfied. The only minor slip-up was that they forgot silverware, but since I was heading home, it wasn't a big deal. In today's economy, this was an incredible value. I'll definitely be back! P.S. Mr. Hicks, please replace the fluorescent bulbs on your sign!

I had a good experience here! The workers were accommodating to our large party of 10 and were very sweet about seating us and letting us wait to order due to my friend having car issues and needing a jump during dinner time. They were very patient and had excellent service! The rolls were very good, some more puffy than others but I suppose you just gotta be lucky like me . Pulled pork was nice but could have used a bit more sauce !

Macaroni and Cheese the dried out edition

I have ordered here once before the same exact meal and it was flawless, I understand it cant be perfect every time however this mac and cheese is highly unacceptable. It literally looks and feels rubberized and when i called to complain to the host who ironically hassled me for a tip she had the audacity to tell me the cheese may have sunk to the bottom. lady there isnt any cheese in this container at all!

The salad bar was decent, though I wish there were more options. The meats, however, were flavorful and cooked exactly how I wanted. The highlights of the night were definitely the picanha and the lamb chops -- both were excellent. The top sirloin was okay but could use a bit more flavor compared to the others. Service really stood out. They were kind enough to accommodate a group of 23 people, including 5 kids, without a reservation, which we truly appreciated. Our server was very attentive and patient, and the staff delivering the meats were quick and extremely accommodating. They happily gave us extra slices when we asked, and sometimes they came by so fast we could barely keep up! Overall, I highly recommend this steakhouse. It's better than other Brazilian steakhouses we've tried and definitely worth the trip to Richmond. We'll absolutely be back!

Let me start by saying we've tried Texas de Brazil and Fogo de Chao (Fogo de Chao in Short Pump,…read moreBaltimore and Tyson's Corner and Texas de Brazil in Short Pump), and we now have a new favorite in Rio Brazil Steakhouse, which we visited on Mother's Day. All three have good food, but here is what sets Rio Brazil Steakhouse apart from the rest. The lighting in the restaurant is a little brighter but not too bright. You can actually see what you're getting and it feels more welcoming. You aren't dining in the dark. The staff are friendly and more personable. Our server was wonderfully attentive but not overbearing and made sure we received our meats cooked the way we preferred (and that we got to try the fried cheese, which was wonderful). He also made recommendations for drinks and desserts, which were spot on. The gauchos made their rounds with the different types of meats quite quickly; we didn't have to sit there and wait with nothing on our plates for any amount of time whatsoever. Rio offered more selections on their hot, side dish bar than the other two, which were tasty and kept at the right temperature - I recommend the potatoes au gratin, but that's my personal preference. The cold bar had a nice selection as well, which made it really hard not to eat too much before the main course. The Brazilian vinaigrette did not disappoint and is something I always seek out, as I can only find it at Brazilian steakhouses. The meats were seasoned well and we were particularly impressed with the chicken, as it was so tender and juicy, and the garlic sirloin, as the flavor was amazing and the meat very tender. We enjoyed all of the meats we tried, and I believe that, between the two of us, we tried all that were circulating. Then there were the desserts. Rio is the only one that I've seen that had flan in a long time, and theirs is even better than the flans I've tried that friends and family have made (sorry all my Filipino friends and family, yours is fantastic and I love yours, as well). I don't know what they did differently, but by all means, please keep doing it. Our server recommended the Brazilian Cheesecake for my s/o, and he absolutely loved it. It was like a New York cheesecake, but with caramel and Brazilian nuts on the top and fudge in the middle, and with a graham cracker crust. Wait, did I mention the red wine sangria? I knew I forgot something. I decided that it would be alright to have one, even though it was early in the day, since it was Mother's Day. It had a very nice flavor, and had just the right amount of fresh, diced fruits. I'm sure there's probably something else I'm forgetting, so I think we'll have to go back soon. It was all in all a memorable experience and I highly recommend.

The server was overall fantastic and the food was really good. My wife and I split the meal for two which was a tenderloin with asparagus. The décor and dining rooms are nicely setup, modern, and somewhat cozy, as they have multiple dining rooms. Table setting was nice, but they didn't do a very good job replacing my silver as I used it and moved on to the next course... other than this, service was great! Menu is pretty nice and it's loaded with many of the popular chophouse items. They even have a nice selection of salads with discounts if bought with an entrée. We started with their New Orleans style BBQ shrimp which had a decent flavor, but way too much butter in it. It should resemble more of a brighter red color with visible spices in it. But what we got was a thick, buttery, pink/orange sauce. Flavor was ok, shrimp was cooked nicely. It was good to dip bread into. Next up was their wedge salad - Typical, HUGE salad with a quarter of the iceberg lettuce head and all the other items... I love adding ranch dressing to the bluecheese that's already on it and in this case, it worked perfectly! The lettuce and ingredients were flavorful and very fresh. I enjoyed it, but could only eat half of it to ensure I saved room for my entrée. For my entrée I got steak frites for the first time ever! They did an amazing job with the hangar steak! Great flavor and perfect temperature! It was a good size portion as well. The fries that came with it were amazingly crispy and quite nice, I just wish they were slightly warmer. They seem to coat them with corn starch, as I saw some on several of the fries. I loved how crunchy they were! And they came with a nice ketchup... I wonder if it's homemade? Overall, we all enjoyed dinner and the service... They could easily be a 5-star

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.

The mac & cheese, unfortunately, was not good at all. On the plus side, the hot cider was delicious. Desserts were a bit of a mixed thoughts. The bread pudding was definitely the best one we tried and really enjoyable. However, the chocolate peanut butter pie was a big disappointment. It was extremely hard and cold (not pie texture), the peanut butter wasn't creamy at all, and it honestly tasted more like a protein bar loaded with sugar. The crust also tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while--disappointing.
