My office had its Christmas party at Hoosier Alley in December 2025, and it was a great night. We did a package deal for ~40 attendees (taco bar), and Emma M. was our events coordinator. She stayed on top of everything and made sure we were set for the night-of. Unfortunately the night of the party was a terrible snow, and some of our team were unable to make it in... and Emma was kind enough to work with us on our numbers. The package included bowling, axe throwing, the arcade, Laser Tag, drink tickets and more. Our group had specific times in a couple different areas, which helped keep things moving. I'm beginning to think that the type of experience you have here is very much determined by which section you choose. I've been here several times, and the bowling alley is always going strong. This time I went on a Sunday night, which seems to be my favorite. The idea was to play in the arcade and have a birthday dinner there. It was less than ideal, and the friendliness of the staff is what made the night somewhat of a success. The bumper car area was empty. I have never seen anyone use them. The skating rink had a couple of people on it. The arcade area seems like it could use more. There are a few ways to earn tickets, and a few games. Some you see in nearly every arcade, like the Jurassic Park one. I wouldn't mind seeing some pinball in here. That would get me in more regularly. We had a few hitches, most of which were addressed quickly. The air hockey table did not give us a puck. After a bit of waiting, a guy came out and gave us one. I noticed the black lights were out on both tables. They have a giant claw to try and grab the big rings of tickets. One of the workers refilled the machine, and after one play we got an error that wouldn't let us play. That was fixed quickly. Almost everything was working, which was nice to see, but I'd like more of it. I grew up in arcades, so even though things have changed, there is a feeling of nostalgia. Bring in some pinball games and let's complete it! To end the night we actually went to BK. I'm not even sure why. I think in the past I just didn't find the food here enjoyable, so I was kind of reluctant to try again. So 3 stars for the arcade experience and +1 for the employees. read more

So I went to Hoosier Alley thinking it would be a quick stop. You know--grab what I need, mind my business, leave with dignity. Wrong. The second I walked in, I felt like I had entered a parallel universe where time moves slower and everyone else already knows what they're doing. First of all, the aisles are so close together I thought I was going to have to crab-walk sideways like a confused Fortnite character. I bumped into at least three shelves and one very patient old man who acted like this happens to him daily. The employee at the counter was alarmingly friendly, like they knew a secret about me I didn't know yet. They said "Have a great day!" with the energy of someone who just won the lottery. I'm convinced they're the only person in Bloomington who gets enough sleep. I picked up what I needed, got distracted by things I absolutely did not need, and somehow left with snacks I don't even remember grabbing. Classic Midwest sorcery. Would I go back? Absolutely. Do I understand what happened to me while I was in there? Not at all. 10/10 experience. 4 stars because I'm still recovering emotionally. read more

I came here for a work event. I was impressed before I walked in since the hours were 12 or 1am. Most places by us in VA where I'm from close by 10pm. We came as a group of 6. The lanes were beautiful and had a great wooden backdrop at the end of the lanes. There is also a VIP bowling area for 8 lanes and they are across the alley from the main lanes. There was a huge TV the length of the 8 lanes. The lighting and decor looks different in that area. There is a large bar area and lots of seating throughout. There is an arcade, bumper cars, an throwing. The bowling and ax throwing were each $30/hr. I stopped to check out the ax area which I loved that each were separated by a wall. There was a projector that displays games on the target. The server showed me the games which included duck hunt. Our group had lots of snacks including mini corn dogs, charcuterie board, large regular pretzel with toppings and a desert cinnamon roll pretzel. Love this bowling alley. It's clean with a large amount of lanes. It has video games for all ages and you can win tickets to get prizes. They also have axe throwing for the big kids. They have a bar and offer food and drinks for everyone. The staff were nice and very attentive. The bathrooms are clean. I would definitely recommend coming by and having some fun. read more

A buddy and I were meeting for a drink, and I mentioned that Hoosier Alley had opened and the chatter about it was impressive. There aren't nearly enough options on the south side of town, and it seemed like an ideal time to stop in and see what all the fuss was about. I'd describe this place as a bar-restaurant-bowling-skating-axethrowing-arcade mega complex. I had no idea the former grocery store could be renovated and turn out as impressive as this place has. I'm pretty sure I'm going back immediately because it was much more than I had anticipated and I need to check out the food in more detail. I enjoyed my appetizer, and every meal that passed my table (yes I admit I stared at everyone's food) looked great. Walking in: Spacious. New. Clean and modern. You can visit the front desk to get rechargeable cards to use at the various games/machines. It's a typical setup with ski-ball, air hockey, driving games, punching bags, grab a gift cranes, etc - all to win tickets to use in their giant store. That's not my thing, but the kids were obviously enjoying it. Air hockey will get me for a few games every time, but tickets to win trinkets won't. The bar/food area is probably most important to many so I'll start with that. Around 10 TV's surround the bar plus the bowling alley has TV's down the lanes, so there are plenty of viewing options to see your favorite team play, etc. Bar is nice, with plenty of bar top seating. Additionally, a lot of low-top seating, for groups of all sizes are scattered around. The menu has options ranging from pizza to burgers to a wide array of appetizers. We were there for drinks, but decided to add a couple of appetizers to check out the food too. I ordered the breadsticks (if you have read my reviews, this shouldn't surprise you) and my friend ordered deviled eggs. I will not review the eggs. I tried not to look at the eggs. I definitely tried not to smell them. Deviled eggs are at the very top of my 'will not eat they're gross' list, so I can't comment other than to say they were fancy and he loved them. It pained me to add the photo because I hate deviled eggs so much. The breadsticks were very very good, and the portion size was HUGE. I asked for the family size order which in retrospect was a mistake. I should have just ordered the single size, but honestly everywhere I've been before breadstick orders always feel small. Not true here. They were terrific, and came with plenty of cheese dip. I now have three options for breadsticks in Bloomington that meet my criteria. Our server was great - she explained how everything worked, answered my incessant questions about food, and was friendly and prompt. We didn't participate in the various games, but there were 5-6 axe throwing stalls, 14 bowling lanes (rentable by the hour for any sized group - great for groups, not for me if I wanted to just go solo so I need to investigate options there), a bumper car area that was pretty small, laser tag, and a medium sized skate rink with old-school lighting that reminded me of my middle school days at skate land! I'd roller skate if I didn't think my old ankles would break and I'd be in the ER immediately. This is a group outing dream, with something for everyone. If my kids weren't grown up, my birthday party worries would all be solved in one location close to my home. I'll definitely be back soon because I saw so many food items at other tables that I need to try. For now, I'm just happy a new option on the south side of town has appeared and I'm impressed. To be honest when I first heard about the concept and location I had my doubts, but now that I've seen it I think it'll be a great addition to the community! read more

I'm not sure I'm ready to review this place yet because I believe it's only been open for a day. I will say that I like the Bar selection except they need a wine list. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful but need hooks on the back of the doors. The actual ambience and infrastructure is superb, clearly brand new. There are VIP bowling lanes to rent with their own entertainment. The axe throwing is super cool with real axes. The bumper cars is more for little kids, but the arcade is for everybody. The bowling lanes are gorgeous with wood trim. So far the food has been really good, especially considering that it's brand new. We had the peanut butter burger with spicy bacon, wings, kids grilled cheese and chicken tacos with two different desserts, and everything was at least a solid 4 which is great for opening weekend. Decent beer selection. My kids had fun playing the arcade and with the bumper cars. It's very chilly so bring a jacket. They're still working out a few kinks in the service, but I thought the service was professional and timely and attentive. Great start!! read more

Very fun new place in Bloomington! I envision spending lots of time here over the winter. The portions are HUGE! I got the loaded tots and they came on a sheet pan that could have fed 4 people. We sat at the bar and the service was great. Very fun space with roller skating and even bumper cars! Although the bumper car space seems weirdly small.... But overall can't wait to spend lots of time here once pool season is over!! read more

I always have loved going here and have made reservations on weekends in the past. I called last week and my sister and I made reservations for a bowling lane from 7p-9p. I had family in town from Indianapolis, I called back Friday March 5th to confirm, they confirmed. I show up with my party and am told they do not have our reservation and do not take reservations on the weekend. I have made reservations on weekends on other occasions with no problem. this was a huge disappointment; we basically had to leave she said it would be a 3 hour wait. read more

Place was very fun. However the wait times are interesting. service is Horrible. paid way too much money for bowling then a pizza . TO WAIT AN HOUR for them to even bring the pizza out. nearly all of the claw machines are rigged. and we never got time to even do the laser tag we paid for. the atmosphere is good how ever our server was NEVER THERE. never asked us for any drinks not to mention the fact that he never cleaned off the drinks from the previous people there. read more

I'll start off by saying we were pretty excited about the opening of this spot close to our home. Unfortunately, our experience was not as awesome as the few reviews on here. I will say it was a Saturday evening and since this is a new establishment they obviously have some things to work out. Let's start with the pros: Plenty of parking Very large establishment Kiosk options for purchasing entertainment choice Cons: Overwhelmed staff Bartender with the RBF (probably needs to consider a new vocation) Lack of communication Confused management Pricey drinks While the place definitely caters to the little one's we felt that there was WAY too much packed into even this amount of square footage. The bumper car space was outright hilarious to me since those cars can barely move in that space, so I appreciate that laugh. We were excited about the axe throwing and Luke explained it all very well except for the part of the only open lanes were " reserved" which we found out when we went to pay. The wait turned out to be an hour and a half at which point we just got up and told them to take us off the wait list. Funny story ...the girl responded that the lane had freed up a while ago, apparently no one thought to inform us. We ordered 2 red bull vodkas, a double shot of vodka, and one JB Whiskey for a whopping $54. Food was ok. They gave us the wrong shrimp order and while the overwhelmed manager was genuinely sorry and wanted to make it right he could not figure out how to refund us and instead offered a $25 card with credit. Not ideal. Ummhmm.... but the ONE thing that really grinded our gears was t the skating rink. We all stood there in disbelief and watched a patron doing their loop de loops with a INFANT in hand. I mean infant like couldnt be more than 6 months old that he was posturing in different positions as he did his thing. I cant imagine how on Gods green earth this is ok? If he had tripped or any type of incident that baby was just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Staff should be more observant. So maybe it was just bad luck on our half that nothing really seemed go right that night. Perhaps we should have attempted our visit on a weekday where caos was turned down to a dull roar. All in all , we hope the place makes it since we need more entertainment in Btown but we most likely won't be frequent visitor. read more

First time there. Took my nephew, who had briefly been one time. Had dinner with a great server and I wish I could remember his name. We ordered a pizza, that I thought was a little pricy. We had a 'make your own' that started at $20.00 and $1.50 for each additional topping. We had three toppings at now $24.50. They burned our first order and, I am assuming the cook, came and was super cool about letting us know and that they were making a fresh one for us and would be about 8 minutes. It was not a problem and appreciated them talking to us. My jaw dropped when the pizza arrived. This is one of the biggest pizzas I have ever seen. It had to be a 20" pie, if not more. And it was SO good! Worth the money! Options on entertainment were many and we played the arcade games. He had fun. I had fun. The staff was very nice and was appreciated. Looking forward to taking my niece and nephews there next weekend. I will definitely be back and will recommend to others. read more
