Honolulu chicken bowl

Came here on the last day of the season because everything was 50% off. It was a great experience. All the food was delicious, as were the drinks. We even ordered some drinks to go and cake! The food was also super delicious, but I do wish my tuna bowl had a bit more flavor. I got bored with it after a bit. However, everything else was amazing. Keep in mind that the entire restaurant is basically outside so it can get chilly depending on the night. They do have heaters though! Staff was amazing as well! I'll be back next season :)

Last stop on our tour de Maine. We stayed in Ogunquit our last night and after hitting the beach, we grabbed late night eats on the patio at Hooks. It was a busy Sunday night, the restaurant was pretty full, but we were seated right away. We had a hard time deciding, but didn't want anything too heavy. I opted for tacos. Our server said 2 was the sweet spot, so that's what I ordered. One fish and one shrimp. She gave us a pro-tip, order the guacamole side, as it was a very generous portion (and she convinced hubs to get the side of chips with his meal - well played). My tacos were underwhelming. I ordered them street taco style, and they were minimal at best. My BFF ordered the beef & shrimp, and I missed out on the picked onions & other fillings. Hubs ordered a salad bowl, and the portion was generous, very filling, he only ate half. The side of chips helped us devour our sides of guacamole. The guac was good, but could have used more kick and a bit of salt (which was not on the table, and we didn't bother asking for). We enjoyed our meal and the laid-back casual atmosphere. We'd visit again if ever in the area, and we do hope to come back, as we fell in love with Ogunquit.

Lovely indoor-outdoor bar and grill, tons of seating in open air, covered patio area. Beautiful set up for lunch in a chill environment. Bar staff was extremely friendly, fun, and knowledgeable about the menu. Ask for Marcie, she's the best! Menu is a lovely selection of local fare and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Ahi tuna, pineapple salsa and guacamole. Tuna was beautifully blackened, lovely medium rare inside and packed with spice! The pineapple salsa was fresh, crispy, with bright flavors. The guac was chunky, delicious and could easily be eaten alone. Talk about a fantastic trio for lunch. Swing by, snag a chair at the bar and get ready for some delicious food.

Recently was in the Maine coastal area and ate at Hook's Chill & Grille which is very much up my alley... FRESH food and ingredients, very outdoors laid back Caribbean vibe. I was happy with the menu selections and grabbed myself a salmon bowl, while the person I was with grabbed a shrimp bowl! Very delicious and super fresh quality!! This is another place you might not stop if you didn't know it was there. It blends into the attached surf shop to its front so it's a hidden gem for sure!! They close this weekend for the season, so try them out if you're around until the 14th!! The coast and lakes region is closing... it's October!!! Our server was such a nice guy, very laid back but attentive!!! Definitely like this spot with a healthy approach to great tastes!!

Burrito with rice, beans, cheese, ancho beef, guacamole- Finn loved it!

Went again for our annual trip. Loved it as usual! Menu was a little different but we loved the changes. Vibe was great as always. Seated a table of us 6 people, in no time. We shopped next door until they texted me. Service was super as always.

Yummy

Great place to stop for hot Jamaican food!…read more One Love Cuisine was originally located in Sanford, ME (their old space seems to have been home to several different types of eateries in recent years). They moved their business into the Mall at Fox Run food court in late 2021. They also offer online ordering via Toast and DoorDash pickup or delivery (higher pricing). They offer a variety of hot dishes including buffet style offerings such as oxtail, jerk chicken, curry chicken, curry goat, jerk pork, fish (whole), fried chicken and sides. They also offer fresh cooked food including fish & chips, snapper, curry shrimp, salmon burgers, veggie burgers, jerk chicken breast, spinach Mac & cheese, grilled salmon and chicken wings. Bottled sodas and juices in the cooler. After a quick errand at the mall, I stopped by One Love Cuisine for dinner takeout recently. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Dinner ($16.99 plus tax) which included choice of two sides and a festival (fried bread stick). My food was prepared to order in the back kitchen and ready to go in 15 minutes after ordering. The grilled salmon was soft and tender covered in a zesty and mild spicy orange sauce served with my side choices of dark rice & beans and very cheesy and dense mac & cheese (soft shells pasta) and a very firm small fried bread stick, great for dipping into the sauce. This dish was amazing and I would definitely order the grilled salmon again and try their other tasty offerings here.

I was going to see RIckie Lee Jones in concert @tupelo music hall, and I more than an hour late to the show, but it was worth it to meet Sharrie and her exciptionally sweet daughter, Gwen. When I got there, Sharrie (?) and I talked for a long time, with Gwen bringing their gorgeous Maine Coon cat back to me after cars on the road scared him. Sharrie told me the food truck was closed and there was no food available. I did not press the the matter. I started to say goodbye and headed for my car, to go to the concert, and Sharrie said "do you want a ramikin of jerk sauce to take home, and of course I said yes. It took another 45 minutes, and I suspected she was cooking up something fresh for me, and after that she gave me a large takeout container with freshly prepared Jerked chicken, and rice and peas. I was not completely surprised, but also stunned at her generosity and kindness. I was not charged for this delightful surprise, and I was very moved. I did not try the chicken until I got home, at 2AM (I came up to Tupelo up 93, from Boston). It was among the best chicken I had in Jamaica, cooked over a wood/stone grill, that is SAYING a lot. I cannot say enough about the hospitality and kindness I was afforded. A word to the wise - call/text ahead and tell them you're coming to pick up your food, then order and go pick it up. Worth the trip from ANYWHERE (USA, Europe, Asia, etc (if you're visiting). Make the slow drive into the woods. You will probably pass it the first time, even if it is right in front of you. It is very nondescript. It is Kitty-Corner from the Gas station/convenience store. If you cannot find it, ask anyone you see there where it is, and they will point it out to you. Another word to the wise: I am a dog lover, and theirs is not friendly - he is an attack dog trained to keep this family safe. So even if you see his tail wagging while he is barking and surveying his territory, including Gwen and Sharrie (especially them). KEEP at least a 100 foot perimeter between yourselves and the dog when you first arrive. Gwen will be the first one to run out and formally greet you. STAY away from the dog, please. Sharrie will then come right out and tell you the same thing - the dog is rightfully protecting the young girl (Gwen is probably 5 or 6) , and Sharrie. 'Nuff said, except DO NOT MISS THIS place, if you are in the vicinity...
