Will start with a warning - this is NOT a sit-down restaurant. This is really for takeout! There is a tiny table where 4 people can sit but its basically not set up to be a sit-down restaurant. Its a fun tiny space with very loud reggae playing outside and a tv playing America's Got Talent inside. The moment we stepped in we were warmly greeted by Tyce who introduced us to the food - I just wanted to try it all. I have used jerk spice but do believe this is the first time I have had Jamaican food (been wanting it for years!). We had the jerk chicken and jerk pork and the taste is just so good - love it! The chicken was just a teeny bit on the dry side but still very good and I will most defenitely be back - need to try all the other options, especially ribs and ox-tail. Got takeout from this place after hearing so many good things about what they're serving. Was told it was very authentic and you can certainly tell a lot of effort is put into what they're serving here. The place is small and very welcoming. The staff is so friendly and will help you with whatever you need. I got the oxtail with white rice, a sweet festival roll, and the Jamaican beef patty. The oxtail was very tender and fell right off the bone. The flavors were definitely there and it was one of the best oxtail dishes I have ever had. The burst of flavors from the first bite of their meal is worth a visit. The roll was so sweet but in a good way and I loved the texture of it. The Jamaican beef patty was flaky and had the perfect about of spice. Everything here that I had shocked me and I will be going back to try more. This place is not to miss! Tyce has an incredible personality and the food is just as incredible as she is. The portions are hearty and fantastically prepared with an obvious amount of love, care and pride taken in their making. The jerk chicken is juicy and packed with layers of flavor with a nice little pop of spice at the end. The plantains are delectable and nicely caramelized. She has quite a spread of options that you don't see at other New England Jamaican kitchens. Festival bread, corn bread, a whole array of island desserts and a drink cooler stocked top to bottom with island favorites that are hard to find. There isn't much seating but one thing I've come to learn about Jamaican spots in particular over the years is the smaller the place the better the food because they've been surviving for years on the food alone. That said, we came at the end of the day in the last half hour and we were trying to be polite so when she asked us if we needed utensils we said we were going to eat in the car to the sound of the rain and she insisted that we sit at the table and take our time and truly enjoy our food. The food is amazing! We ordered some different things to try. Had the beef brisket (excellent, fall apart moist with smokiness and a great sauce). The curried goat was probably our favorite although close to being a tie with the brisket. We have never had it before but similar to lamb and the spices Tyce uses on it are perfect! The jerk chicken was moist and packed with flavor. The abundance of choices were impressive- everything looked so good. On top of all that great food, Tyce is super nice and very personable. Food is incredible! We have driven past this place more times than I care to share and am now regretting that we didn't stop sooner! This will now become a regular place to order from for us. We had the red snapper in chili sauce which was amazing. We really enjoyed the King fish, so give it a try! There wasn't a thing here we didn't enjoy. I eat Caribbean food pretty regularly so I was surprised to find a Caribbean restaurant here on my vacation in Maine, I decided to stop in and support the business. Nice lady, friendly cozy atmosphere nice small take out place. For the food , the rice is good , different as it was basmati, which I liked, the curry looked good as well, but I tried the jerk chicken and some smoked brisket. The jerk chicken looked like it would have been good, but there was an unusual green sauce added which overpowered the jerk taste and didn't agree with me or any in my party so unfortunately we couldn't finish the chicken, which is doubly unfortunate because it was 17 dollars each for the chicken. The brisket had a better sauce , which balanced out its being well done. Definitely pricier takeout than even the usual Caribbean sit down restaurant experience, for 3 it cost us about 108 $ for food and one drink, If you go here I recommend trying the sauce first or having it put on the side. read more

This place is serving up authentic Jamaican cuisine . The curry shrimp was to die for and the Ox tails were cooked to perfection fall off the bone tender. This place is serving up the most amazing creations. When we arrived I did not see curry shrimp as an offering for the day. The owner saw my disappointment and made an order for me. We've been wanting to try Tyce forever and finally went for lunch today. It was awesome. We got jerk chicken, goat curry, festival bread, and two Jamaican soft drinks that were recommended by the owner. The Woman quipped back "when we open", which led us to believe that food was not made freshly throughout the day. There's a cultural gem in Saco Maine and that's go see tyce! From walking into to the small comfortable place and Tyce just welcomed me and started explaining everything I was looking at. I know what visually appealing food looks like and I'm very familiar with Jamaican food and I could tell everything looked real good. I went with the curried chicken and jerk chicken and they were both amazing and authentic with taste and spice. I can honestly say this is the best Jamaican food you will get for a long distance. Boston Dorchester ones don't compete so the closest you would have to travel is Connecticut or New York. The fried plantains were like candy and perfectly cooked just a delightful contrast to the Jamaican heat that accompanied the meat. Collard greens were great and the beef patty was great! Now back to the host which was also part of this great experience. TYCE she is warm genuine true and truly is sharing her love and passion with each and every serving she cooks and serves. I will be coming back again and again and hopefully TYCE we will get to know each other enough to call each other friend or family. I PLEA to the people to GO SEE TYCE! I have had Jamaican food here and there, but I can't remember ever sitting down and having a true traditional Jamaican dish so that led me to trying Tyce's chicken curry with some of her other food that she has there ( I'm not sure the name of it but some sweet potatoes dish and a dumpling that was amazing and sweet) and this is not an exaggeration when I say this, it was some of the best food I have ever had In my LIFE! It was incredibly fresh. It tasted, absolutely amazing a true homemade plate of food. I called Tyce right after I took the first few bites and told her how i literally was having a food orgasm in my mouth this food is absolutely off the chain. Tyce is a small business owner out here trying to survive and let me tell you she has the food for it but we all need the most support we can get so go on down and check her out I absolutely guarantee you will love the food.
