Chicken Teriyaki
Ben H.

A name like hooked on sushi gets your attention. I scrolled to it while browsing Uber eats. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. I am hooked on their lunch specials. $10.50- can't beat it. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. Wasn't hooked on it, but it was decent.

Hooked on Sushi is new in town and we decided to give it a try for date night. Walking in we were immediately greeted and offered to pick a table. The restaurant is decorated in typical small, sushi restaurant style. There is a small sushi bar and TV. I love that the sushi menu has a breakdown of ingredients, so smart! My partner tried the chicken karage to start. It was crispy and well fried. He then ordered chicken fried rice for his entree, and it was fine. I tried the amigo roll and veggie tempura roll. The amigo roll was good, not nearly as spicy as I expected. The servers are still working out flow, so at times we had to flag someone down. Overall they were attentive enough, just needed some prompts that are typical of a new restaurant. All in all, didn't blow me away but was a nice experience. We'll put it into the rotation when we're looking for somewhere different than our usual haunts.

I would of did a 2.5 stars but no half stars. My food was good and my sons said his food was okay . Chicken was dry . When we typically go to sushi spots, they typically bring the sushi out first instead of the last item. Service started off good but as soon as they got busy and looked like the bigger parties ordered beer and liquor they seem to forget about the patrons only drinking fountain drinks . After we received, it seem like the restaurant got real busy . Customers behind us sat down 5-10 after we got there and left seams there dinner was canceled or ? . Don't really know but they didn't look happy . The ambiance looks to be catered to more drinks and sushi . This is my third time back after the new ownership.

Albacore (Shiro Maguro), Squid (Ika), sushi rice.

Once again an absolutely amazing experience. This time around we had "Snow Fox" and the "Shrimp Crunch" as well as salmon roe, Ika, and albacore. All of which tasted fresh and so good. Everyone here is so nice and so attentive. The sushi chef behind the counter is the sweetest and rewarded us with another fresh orange dessert. The wasabi that comes with the roe is different from the usual type. It's authentic and tastes much stronger and so much better. And their sushi rice is one of my favorites, surprisingly. This place is so cute, and so nicely decorated. One of my favorite places to go for sushi. The prices are very reasonable, in fact I think they're very nice for how much food you're getting and the quality. I absolutely love this place.

This place definitely hit the spot. Food was great and service was better. Must try Will be back soon

Mixed Tempura Bento

Fresh sushi served here. The spider roll was delicious; just wished they didn't add imitation crab. Bento was so yummy. The salad was fresh and had an amazing soy/mustard dressing. The tempera had delicious coating and was very crispy. It was absolutely perfect. The portion size was bit small so I should've ordered few more sushi orders. Service was great and enjoyed eating here. Enjoy! Highly recommend.

I am always on the hunt for a great sushi bar. Well I think I have found it. My friend and I went to Hooked on Sushi yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and the owner is really friendly. Really nice menu and they have a board of specials. I ordered the Tuna tower and miso soup and my friend had an avacado roll. It was delicious and fresh. I think I have found my new place.

Just tried this place for the first time and it was great! I was on my way to Sprouts and noticed a new sushi place. I looked it up online and the pictures looked nice so I had to try! I got the Sunset roll, Bluefin tower roll and Salmon carpiccino (I probably got this one's name wrong) to go. All super good and fresh! Some of the freshest I've tried and a top contenter for best sushi on the west side of town. I came for a togo order and the waitess was still very nice and attentive. She even gave me a free ice cream macaron :) I only have a picture of the Bluefin tower roll in my togo box (it'll look different if you dine in); I ate the other rolls without taking any pictures. I got full pretty quick and was sad I couldn't eat it all in one go. I gave the rest to my partner. Three rolls filled us both perfectly. The place is very trendy and modern and I got a kick of the creative names of the rolls. I can't wait to go back and have the sit down experience!

Delicious fried Calamari
Suki Y.

Best sushi joint I've been to thus far. After seeing this place on Yelp, me and my husband and I decided to pop in for an afternoon lunch. Boy, was I amazed. We ordered the fried calamari for the appetizer, and they brought out actual calamari. It wasn't like the cheap rings you can get at Red Lobster or many other asian locations. I could feel the sucker on those tentacles. And they were delicious! For the entree, we requested the lunch special: sushi and roll combo, and the aesthetic was on point. It tasted just as good as it looked. In addition to such, we also ordered the Second Climax Roll. The flavors paired each other so well it was truly a delightful taste. This place is definitely a must go for any sushi fan and a perfect small location for a date night.

Here's the front. Behind shell. Apple Maps made it hard to find.

Apple Maps didn't want me to find this place. But I did. Was greeted almost immediately. That's always a plus. Wait staff really hopping and making effort from the start. I got an iced tea, it was kind of odd, so I switched to dr. Pepper. I got a little overwhelmed by multiple menus and no pictures, so I just went for a combo. Presentation was very pretty. The non specified variety of sashimi or fish on rice, not sure if I have right term, was a bit too exotic for my taste. It was fun to look at, though. I got an avocado roll to supplement since I couldn't eat a good part of the combo. I'm used to sushi having some wasabi in the roll and I think being more chilled, but everything was definitely very fresh. If I had been less hungry and not disoriented with low blood sugar I would've ordered individual rolls and likely been more comfortable with the price point. Bit of a drive for me but next to Sprouts so easy to grab groceries after. I hope they do well.

I've been on the hunt for a go-to sushi place that's close to me & decided to give this place a try after seeing all the wonderful reviews & it did not disappoint! The restaurant is very clean & well-decorated. The service was great! Our server was kind & very attentive. The food came out so fast and it tasted delicious & fresh! The portion sizes are spot on for what you're paying. Overall, a great dining experience and will be a frequent customer.

Ahi Tuna Sushi

Service Our server was friendly, fast, and efficient. He also made recommendations, which I am planning on trying next time. Ambiance Cute little sushi/diner spot with lots of seats for quick turnover. I may try to eat at the sushi bar the next time I'm in. I recommend going early, at 11 AM, like we did. Although it's located in a grocery shopping center, and the parking lot is very busy, it's still very worth it. Food Here is where Hooked On Sushi truly excels. The first thing we ordered was the gyoza, which came out hot and crispy. The dipping sauce was delicious and made the whole dish unique. Next, we ordered the ahi tuna sushi, which was the perfect little bite. The tuna was topped with a light sauce, roe, and scallions-I didn't even need soy sauce. Yum. Next came our main dishes of shrimp yakisoba and shrimp tempura udon: the yakisoba was fairly standard (still very good), and the udon broth was soooo good! Lastly, we ordered an item off the daily specials called the Tuna Tower. I can't say enough good things about this dish. You just need to try it. Although I admit that it's hard to eat with chopsticks (mostly because I'm not skilled), once I started using my spoon to eat it, I was in heaven. The Tuna Tower is an extremely well-balanced and flavorful dish. The quality of this meal was extremely high. I was not expecting this level of quality given the name and location. Shame on me for judging a book by its cover. Value/Price The lunch menu is very affordable. The sushi was reasonably priced. The special was a little more expensive than I would normally go for, but it was ultimately so worth it. I highly recommend this place!

The space was decorated simply and it wasn't loud at all so it was the perfect place to catch up with my friend. The waiters were super attentive and our food came out so quick. We ordered the oshinko roll, seaweed salad, sake nigiri, and bluefin tuna roll which was recommended by the waiter. We loved everything! It was the perfect amount of food for both of us and we left feeling comfortably full. I'm actually not a big seafood person so I loved the addition of vegan rolls on the menu. The use of purple rice was also very cute and made for good photos! It didn't make a huge texture/taste difference so we didn't mind it. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for some yummy rolls. In addition I confirmed that their tempura batter has no egg, so the veg tempura is vegan as well and really delicious. Not sure about the dipping sauce that comes with the tempura though, I would assume it has dashi though I didn't ask. The staff are excellent, everyone is very polite and professional. The place is pretty busy, we came around 7pm on a Friday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table of 4. I do have some notes for the restaurant, for one the tables inside are arranged sort of awkwardly so that it was quite difficult to get out of our table in order to use the restroom, and I had to ask someone in a different party to move their chair. In addition the timing of the dishes coming out is somewhat random. We ordered shrimp and veggie tempura in addition to some sushi, and even though they were appetizers both the tempura dishes came out after the sushi. In addition there was a decent gap in between the veggie and shrimp tempura, so long that we thought maybe they forgot about the shrimp but they didn't. These are just small improvements, still giving 5 stars for the quality of the food and overall service.

The regular menu is pricey depending on what you get. The AYCE menu has a premium ($35.99) and deluxe ($47.99) section. We chose the deluxe menu. The food for AYCE was good. The fish tasted fresh and rich. I loved the salmon, Wagyu, and toro nigiri's. The salmon carpaccio was also delicious. My boyfriend liked the short ribs because of the sauce. He also liked the Takoyaki and my mom had that for the first time which she thought was really good. All the other foods were delicious even the sushi rolls. But unfortunately there were a few cons. First we had to wait 20 mins for a table because they were busy. There is no place inside to sit to wait so we had to stand outside but it was windy that night so it was cold. The host took us to our table but we didn't have anyone to greet us or explain what to do for our first times here. When we called for our waitress she explained the menu that we order from the tablet. Some items you had to order from her and not from the tablet. Some special items you had a cap on order like the Wagyu nigiris. It took a while for our waitress to come to our table because we were sat on the far left of the restaurant and she was busy waiting on tables on the right side. So we constantly had to search for her if we needed something. But this is where my mind was changed. The waitress was very sweet. She apologized for her lack of attention because of how busy it was and recognized it. We saw the sign in the front that they were doing a 10 year anniversary special where if you roll two dice's and get a number 10 the whole meal was free. If you do the math that's a low chance of 8.33%. We told the waitress that we wanted my mom to roll the dices for her bday. We finished our desserts and gave it to her. We were able to record for fun. To our surprise, my mom won! She rolled two 5's which was unbelievable! We were so shocked and excited that our $170 meal was FREE (we provided cash tip of course). The waitress said my mom was lucky. Even though we won, the waitress still was kind enough to give us a pair of nice Yama chopsticks. That was very sweet. From those series of events I decided to give this place a 5 star. The general manager was a funny tall guy and took photos with us after too. I had a wonderful time here despite the cons.

We were seated at our reservation time. I opted to forego the "show" ... being seated at a community table for the chef show. But clearly this is the primary focus of this restaurant. But on the flip side, it looked and sounded like the people at the community "show" tables were having a ball. Lots of birthdays and celebrations. Anyway, great menu. Started with a couple inspired cocktails, and moved on to the fish taco's and lamb chop appetizers. Outstanding. Only nit, our server disappeared, and the app plates were left on table when our main courses showed up. We were also never serviced for another round of drinks. For our mains I ordered the Wagyu filet with asparagas and fried rice sides cooked medium. My dining guest ordered the salmon roll and a side of fried rice. My steak came out gray and rare, no sear crust at all. Very disappointing. On the flip side my dining partners portion of fried rice was astoundingly large, and good. Never did see our server again until the check was brought over. We were not even offered the dessert menu other than the small pineapple sherbet that came with my meal. Parking is brutal here.
