The music to jam and vibe out to is great, there's tons of comfy seating to help you wind down, and the atmosphere makes you feel as close to home as it gets. Its my favorite chill spot. As far as hookah, they have a huge variety of bases, and flavors. They provide tips for each individual so germs aren't passed around, and the staff is very friendly. They are attentive when it's hitting too harsh or not hitting the way you like and fix it pretty quickly. Also they have a point system. By 10 and get the 11th one free. Great deal! read more

My husband and I were looking for a cool cheap place to go for our anniversary. We chose Hookava because back in my husband's college days he came here once and liked it. This place was actually really cool once you actually find it (Super tucked away), and once you kind of get over the disorganization of it all. It was a Saturday night so of course the music was loud, and there was a party going on. We chose a little spot in the corner which was perfect. I would have to say their prices here are AMAZING. We both got beers and we got a single hookah. Our tab was only $23. Hands down the cheapest hookah bar I have been to. Service wasn't amazing, but we were taken care of. Flew in with some friends from Las Vegas and this place came recommended. Honestly one of the best night outs me and my girls had in a long time. Deja took care of us for the night, and she was so kind, funny and patient with getting us everything we needed! we told her multiple times how we wish she was off the clock so she could hang out with us all night because of her good vibes! You don't meet a lot of people with a great personality and hospitality in a place like this. Would definitely recommended going here. Many years ago, I got my first taste of hooka in a friends garage that was dimly lit. Nowadays, since I moved to the Reno area, Hookava has become a premium hangout spot for myself and my friends. Their flavor combinations are excellent, and their new setup in their new location is phenomenal. The flavor of each combination has been amazing, far better than my first burnt shisha experience! Now... let's talk about the highlight of this location: the staff. Dylan and Cheyenne are by far my two favorite people to handle my needs here, with even more new folks being hired on and learning from the best. Dylan's and Cheyenne have both been able to reccomend new and delicious combinations. Not once have I been disappointed in one of their suggestions. As someone who needs the cooling sensation of mint in their mixed, they have both been able to get a feel for what flavors will combine and shine through the overpowering flavor mint can sometimes have. Repeatedly after an incredibly stressful day at work, Hookava and her staff have been able to completely turn my night around and create a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Oh, and another thing... get the Touchtunes app! They have a jukebox that you can take over and play songs on! My boyfriend wanted to go out while we were in Reno and I figured I'd look on Yelp as always and see what they have our here. I have been to Reno a couple of times but have never been to Hookava. The ratings were good and the atmosphere seemed like a place that we would enjoy. As we got to the place it was on a sat and it was pretty packed and it looked like a DJ night with some good music. We got seated pretty fast and got some drinks and ordered a hooka with watermelon and melon flavor. The people helping out were really helpful and very knowledgeable about hooka. We made friends with all the staff and I'm so bad at names but the Manager Dylan was by far the most helpful person and two other ladies of his staff. At the end of the night Dylan let us know about Sunday nights and bottomless mimosas. We actually came back the next day and did the bottomless mimosas and the staff remembered us from the other night and totally treated us very well. Sunday night is more chill and not as packed if you don't like crowds. The staff came and checked on us and made sure that we were good and if we needed anything. They have very good customer service for sure! We were also told that you can bring your own food if you would like to eat also... If you are ever in town and like the Hooka feel and scene, then come check out this place! They're very welcoming and super friendly. I know we will be back the next time we visit. Went here for my first time the other night and I gotta day it was a pleasant surprise. It's not terribly overdone on the inside and I personally feel that it could use a little more doing up, but the environment is chill and sort of relaxing. I tried hookah for the first time ever and it wasn't bad at all! I think maybe they could have a wider range of flavors but I don't know enough about shisha to know whether there's a lot or not! The only negative thing I'd have to say about it is that it's a little expensive. I have little experience with hookah (obviously) but $30 for one session and $10 for a refill feels like a lot, especially for one person. The drinks kinda got up there too, but still not terrible compared to other places I had drinks that night! The employees are nice. I personally know the owner and he seems to have made good choices with his employees. They have experience and are very nice and helpful, even acknowledging that it was my first time and making recommendations to help me enjoy it more. They're attentive and chilled out at the same time, and all around friendly and personable. It makes me want to go again! read more

Been awhile since I've been here, but the new renovations make it 10x better to go to then what I was used to in the past. It's not claustrophobic, lots of elbow room and it's just overall better for groups of friends to be in. The upstairs is a nice bar area with chess,checkers, foosball and if you want a full bar. Hostess were on point and friendly. Its a place to go if you want to have a nice kickback with friends. One concern is if you are not a fan of blasting music then probably not the best place to go because I found it difficult to hold a conversation with friends with how loud the music was. read more

Parking is either on the street on in the lot next for the building next to the building this establishment is in. Being seated was easy with no wait but that's about as good as it got. My wife and I waited 15mins before we had to flag someone down to take our order. After our order was taken it wasn't long before our hookah was brought to us. For 30mins we watched everyone beyond 7ft of us be tended to. 2 other small parties and ourselves were basically invisible to the several hookah tenders walking past us serving other patrons. None of them would even look in our direction which made would have made me add at least another star. Our flavor suggestion was decent for at least 10mins before it went almost flavorless. The gaskets on the stem and hose did not seal properly which would result in a very airy and shallow draw and very little smoke. Restrooms were disgusting, even a porta-potty has it beat. There was mold in the toilet bowls, trash every littering the floor and urine on the ground. With elevators right outside of the restrooms it would seem it's used by other offices. Which would make you think it would be better kept by building management. It's in a good location. Lots of seating and right on the corner of the building so it has a great view of the street. The place has so much potential to be better if they actually served everyone. I'm not saying their services is horrible but it has holes when you don't serve ALL of your paying customers. read more

Ok, by far one of the most impressive hookah bars I've been to. I'm an avid hookah smoker and what most hookah lounges or bars don't want you to know is that they mix their flavors with flavors with other flavors that don't do well to make profit and guests will never know. This place is 100% legit. My first time coming here they gave me the option of what's good and what's not good. They were very honest and open. Even if you don't smoke hookah and just want to come here to chill with friends, the environment is perfect. The workers were so nice. They also have the bar upstairs. The hookah is downstairs, and is great for gatherings. I am very pleased with this place. If you come to Reno and want something fun other than casinos this is the place for you! read more

This place is a little hard to find as it is in the parking lot behind a church on Arlington, so make sure you don't miss the turn in. I came here with my brother and sister. The place was still pretty empty considering it was only 7 pm which is still pretty early for people to go to a hookah lounge. We weren't too sure on what flavors were good, so we asked for some recommendations from the "hookah person" (I'm not really sure what you call them). He was very informational and friendly, asking us about different preferences we had for types of flavor we like. He seemed like he knew his stuff, so we decided to leave our flavor decision in his hands, and he picked out Pandora's Box for us. It was a fantastic flavor. It was a more subtle fruity taste, and not too overwhelming. I really enjoyed this flavor. I was just really impressed with the customer service here and how well he attended to our hookah to make sure it didn't get too harsh. I will be back and bringing more friends! read more

While traveling for work in Reno, I found this pretty great hookah lounge! I am sort of a hookah snob and this place definitely met my craving needs. Decent selection of hookah shisha (tobacco) flavors. They were more expensive then what I pay at home in Las Vegas, but the service was great and the hookah was high quality. First time in a hookha bar in Reno. It was pretty cool. It was the first time my two friends tried hookha and they LOVED it. First off this place is in a weird spot, its totally hidden. Its underneath a hotel/apartment place called the Riveria (I think). You have to go down an alley to find it. People and service was super friendly. It was reasonably priced. They didn't have much on their drink menu, but it was cool, we were there more to smoke anyway. Chairs and tables kinda looked dirty and dingy, lighting to me was a bit bright, felt like you really couldn't chill.We tried the blueberry and it was pretty good. In my tradition of hitting up hookah bars in towns I visit, I came across this small lounge. Off the beaten path of the lights of Reno, literally. It's tucked away like a hookah treasure from Legend of Zelda. You go down an alleyway, the only way I knew I was possibly in the right area was a spatter of girls running out of the cove it sits in. Don't let the exterior throw you off. The staff are extremely friendly and know their shisha. Plus they can make a mix that you will love. Plus they have many many regulars. In the time I've been sitting here, they staff seemed to know everyone that came in or in the very least was able to make anyone walking through the door feel like they've been a regular for years. I heard it's not easy to find this place but my friends had already located it the night before so I just followed them. First impression - very mellow and it's a good place to hang out with small or big group of friends. My friends ordered blueberry, and the night before they had something else which was a special on the board. It looks like there's a lot to choose from. I didn't smoke but I definitely enjoyed the smell of blueberry. The place was getting busy when we left around 10pm.
