    Self-made, Bloody Mary's.

This little hidden gem is the place to be if you want an exceptionally good mixed cocktail. Also, Drinx is dark and secluded. As a bonus, they have a splendid Bloody Mary Bar during certain daylight early hours. On my visit, I loved the various assortment of olives available to complement this bloody good drink, along with pickles and horseradish if you dare. Cheers!

The worst service! Was not asked for a drink in 45 mins. Bartender and waitress ignored people were walking out. H

Just as good as roxy's without the extra background noise We were meeting out of town friends for drinks and want great drinks but a quiet spot. This little lounge/bar fit the bill. A great selection of martinis, mixed drinks and wines by the glass. There's a large bar area and lots of comfy seating with tables. And the big score- their happy hour lasts till 7pm. Hurray !!!

This is just for their attitude and service... Since we were chased out before we were even asked to order. It was close to thanksgiving last year, and yes it took me a while and I'm still upset over it. My wife, our 2 kids, and I were coming back into town to visit my family, we all decided to hit the Sterling Steak House Sunday buffet. Since it was thanksgiving, and we had a party of 5 adults and 2 kids, there was a long wait of 45 mins. We were told we could bring the family to Drinx across the walkway, have a seat, and wait. So, we all sat down by the door and there might have been 4-5 people at the bar with all the tables empty. We figure we could all get a drink, chat, and wait. 10 mins gone by, no one came over. Our 2 year old ran off and blew out a few candles that were lit on the other table, since his older brother just had a birthday where he gets to blow out some candles. Now this has gotten us the bartender's attention immediately! He promptly came over and said "you all need to leave, now." And then proceeded to complain to the female bartender at the bar, across the entire restaurant since we were sitting at the door, that "stupid Asian kid blew out the candles." Needless to say, we won't go back there again. And I hope all yelpers will see this bar as what it truly is, a place where family, children, and apparently Asian, are not welcome here. And if anyone wonders who the male bartender guy was, look in picture for a guy bending over lighting a candle. I took that picture of him and told him to smile ;)

Hubby Ross and I have visited this bar every year or so, when we are visiting Reno from Texas, since about 2009 or so. In the past, they closed around 11pm, which left Ross and I without a VP bar home, but now, they are open 24-hours/day AND offer a snack menu for overnight munchies. One night, I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which was HUGE Couldn't finish it, but they boxed it up so I could munch more later. We used our comps so it didn't even cost us anything extra. We met a few bartenders along the way and really enjoyed playing video poker here. This bar is technically in the Silver Legacy; however, it's very accessible from the El Dorado, where we stayed this trip. Ross loves JOB and I am a DW nut, so we can each play our fave games, at the $0.25 or higher level, along with getting great drink service. This trip, we met Steve, who is a morning bartender, and is in charge of assembling the Bloody Mary bar every Sunday. I posted a picture so you can enjoy the beautiful set-up for accessorizing your drink! Ask Steve to play 80's music trivia with you - and you'd better be on your game, or he will win, every time! We also met Neil, who was a mid-time guy, I think, who regaled us with funny stories and great service. Finally, we saw George, from Scotland, who is our old friend from trips before. He immediately remembered us and after a few days, when we were on our last night, he came out from behind the bar and hugged us goodbye. What a nice man - great service, funny stories and just a genuinely nice guy. If you stop by, please tell the guys that lauren and Ross said hello - we're the couple who had the 4 of a kind contest every time we played! Most of the bartenders loved our game, rooted for us and even kept track on a napkin so we could concentrate on competitive money-losing!

Drinx Lounge, how I love thee, let me count the ways. First, you make the absolutely best Bloody Mary's I've ever had. Drinx has a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar on Saturdays and Sundays. For $7.50, Robert and Amy (first shift) will mix the Bloody Mary and you can top it off with anything and everything on their beautiful bar which is set up outside the lounge. They have toppings ranging from celery, spiced up whole green beans, garlic stuffed olives, lime, lemon, Tabasco sauce, and horseradish. The Bloody Marys were a great cure for my dehydration in the high altitude of Reno, Nevada. Second, the bartenders are attentive and HOT. Robert and Amy took care of me in the the mornings and Giovanni and George worked the evenings. After rounds of rum and coke and a delicious chocolate martini scattered throughout for 4 days in the Reno area, I made Drinx Lounge my hangout during college football games. Drinx was a GREAT place to watch the Boise State-University of Nevada, Reno football game on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Third, the lounge is beautifully decked out in art deco style. They have super comfortable chairs and sofas which you can use to meet with friends and family while watching the never-ending plethora of games throughout the year. Drinx Lounge is located in the Silver Legacy Casino in Downtown Reno. For those who aren't familiar with the Reno area, it is located in the Silver State of Nevada and has easy access to Lake Tahoe, Mt Rose, and the Sierra Nevada mountains which has every outdoor activity available. You can hike, fish, ski, ATV in the high desert, horse back ride, etc. There's so much more to do besides gamble in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area... then again I LOVE SECOND HAND CASINO SMOKE!!! LOL!!!! GO WOLF PACK!!!!

It was low enough key for us yet still fun, it was packed and we first sat on a corner edge by the fire the only seats open and it was overwhelmingly HOT by the fire even though the ambiance is lovely. We got super lucky when a couple of ladies left before the countdown so we moved to a table. It was still decorated like Christmas inside and it was super cute. We all LOVED our drinks mine was like a boozy (honestly was there even booze in it lol) milkshake and I tried my friends, one was a special holiday drink "sugar plum fairy" which was sweeter and yummy and other friend got a baileys based martini also very yummy. I can't remember exact names but see pics haha. Really made me wanna come back for that milkshake drink sooner than the once a year or every two years I prob make it in here. For the Older crowd.

So, after dinner he wanted to take me to this fancy Fireside Lounge for drinks after dinner. It was hella hard to find, but we did finally. It's near the Italian place called Romanza. It's supposed to be like the old school fireplace lounges the Peppermill restaurants used to have. I don't think there's any Peppermill restaurants around anymore, just this casino. My friend told me all locals get 20% off at any of the restaurants, so that's kinds cool. Inside this lounge, it's really on the dark side and there's lots of soft puffy couches and love seats. If you wanted a dark booth to make out in, this is the place! There's nice seating around the gas fireplace if you want, but those seats go fast on busy nights. I thought the music was kinda loud, but that might just be me. I don't think there's much food served in here, just fancy drinks before the making out starts! They have there monster big bowl drinks to share like a Scorpion, I think full of rum and other stuff. That thing's gonna be a headache in the morning! It was fun staying for a round of drinks, we got one of the darker booths ... you know for making out! Check it out, if you can find the lounge!

A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for…read moreme to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). Both bars are set up in a way that allows for meeting others and socializing. Check it out. It's a good time. Notes *Catch live jazz music on Wednesdays here for free. *free street & neighborhood parking *bagels & cream cheese available at the coffee shop *they have fun with their seasonal drink specials. I dig it.
