Dana Peak Park offers many trails, lake side views with fishing, and places to park. The trails are…read moremarked for your reference. The trails are for hiking and bicycling. It is also dog friendly. Pretty much dirt trails, so after rains, it can get muddy, but we are in Texas, so that only happens occasionally. You can get several miles in on the various trails. Others are friendly and willing to point you in the right direction. I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both times. I do recommend hiking with someone else in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a snake, so be safe!

If you want absolute quiet and a nice place to relax, this park might just be for you…read more While you won't find sandy beaches and a roped off swim area, you will find: -Quiet places to set up day camp with LOTS of space between you and others -A very quiet lake (it gets a bit more noisy on weekends, but still nothing compared to Lake Belton. The "beach" is made up of large white limestone rocks which can make it tricky to set up for the day, but this is what keeps most other people out. :) Bring your own shade as there are NO large trees or shaded picnic areas. A beach umbrella can be set up near the water and a pop-up shade tent can be set up-at a level picnic table. There is a small, brick-sided restroom house on the premises. The best part about this park? IT'S FREE! There is no fee for using the lake area or the boat ramp. But, shhhhh! Don't tell everyone. :)

During the warmer months, a pool to spend time on this hot Texas days with kiddos. It's also a fabulous PET FRIENDLY PARK! Basketball area, huge pond with ducks, a pavilion and a plethora of seating areas! Trees to cool you down. Along the walking path are little workout areas with equipment. FINALLY Zach and I made it out onto Lake Belton! We tried last year and Frank's was doing some…read moremaintenance on the bobcats and then we just didn't get around to it. So we showed up today a casual 10 minutes late. I'm always stressed about being late and they were very cool with it which immediately relaxed me. I think the marina itself could use more signage as we didn't see where to go to check in and had to be directed by someone else on the dock. We find our way, one of the employees said she was going to check that our bobcat was working (really appreciate that, always want to know it works) and we checked in inside. Without prompting, they recommend some cool areas of the lake to check out. This was excellent and I loved it. Zach was driving, so I was thriving, and they had wine on sale for 20% off, so they twisted my arm and I ended up with some delicious, cheap, plastic, single-serving bottles of wine. They were very patient with my nerves as we got loaded onto the boat and I tried not to lose all of my items. I really misinterpreted the size of the boat and, as I always do, overpacked. We did not need towels, we did not really need ... anything .... except maybe the wine. They gave us a great overview of how to steer the bobcat, cuz it was a little different than what we are used to with big boy boats, and we were off! We had a great time, we made it back alive, we signed a paper saying we were alive and had returned their bobcat, and they surprised us by saying bobcat rentals no longer have to pay for gas. We did not argue and hippity hopped it out of there. They made it so easy, the price is reasonable, they seem to have pretty open availability, and you can rent by the 1/2 hour. I can see us having a date night where we grab some dinner at Deadfish and then take a bobcat out for an hour to watch the sunset from the lake. This is my life now? No complaints.

There was a place where you can get your boat down to the water and many people were on the boat doing finishing and all kind of water activities! We walked around the small island and did some sunbathing! The entrance costed us $10 so be aware of that! Other than that it was a good visit!
