Time for an update. The Large Tilapia Dinner (4 Pcs) for $20.10 is a good deal, it comes with fries, coleslaw and a drink and you can substitute the fries for rice. The fries though is a much better choice, it's seasoned nicely, crisp and they're good! I appreciate that there is a rice substitution, but their rice is mushy and tasteless.... so I suggest to go with the fries, a much better choice! I don't know why this place exists. And today I learned it is a chain. I've been looking for a good place to get fish. This isn't it. We didn't notice until we were leaving they had a sign saying " Take out only." "Dine in temporarily closed." The fish was overcooked and really mediocre quality. I hate to give any place a bad rating but in all good conscience I can't recommend this place even though they have Italian Beef Sandwiches on the menu. read more

Overall, underwhelming. The food was bland, overly greasy, and overpriced for what you get. The kitchen gets the food out fast enough, but I'm convinced that's because it might have been sitting since its take out only. We got the catfish along with fish and chips. I'm not convinced what we got was even hot when they boxed it since by the time we got home (10 minute drive) it was lukewarm. read more

The quality is going down. I used to enjoy their food but in the last few months the fried chicken I was served is not fully coated with the breading and the chicken did not seem fresh like it had been sitting out for quite sometime. Pretty much a failure on all accounts. Food used very low quality ingredients doused in an attempt to hide with too much seasoning or sauce on everything. For lunch we got chicken nuggets, a gyro and a philly cheesesteak. The nuggets were terrible and way too heavily coated in seasoning, the gyro had a sauce I couldn't identify, but was not tzatziki, and the cheesesteak was made from some sort of processed beef loaf. The food here is okay. I ordered #1 which was tilapia with chicken wings, fries, toast, cole slaw and a drink. I also ordered some okra and hush puppies. The food came within 15 minutes all bagged up and ready to go. My niece and I decided to stay and eat there. There was no forks, ketchup, etc. in the bag, so I went to go ask for some. All their condiments and utensils were behind the cashier counter, except for their lids and straws, so I asked the lady in the front. The customer service was cold! So this place is in a Bad part of town. I witness an arrest across he street involving six cops and two police dogs. Then I watched appeared to be a drug deal in the bench inside the restaurant. Really good, fried chicken, fried catfish and shrimp. The quality of the frying was good -- hot, crispy, and not greasy. You cold tell that the shrimp was not the best quality (nor does one expect it to be). We had to go back and ask for tartar sauce and for shrimp (cocktail) sauce -- you would expect this would be included in the order, or at a convenience station with condiments like ketchup. Likewise, the temperature of the store was quite cold. A few things I expect in a fish 'n' chips place: ketchup for the fries (chips) and malt vinegar. They didn't have either one. The shrimp batter was way too salty, and the flour herb coating on tilapia had some flavor, but I wasn't thrilled with it. My wife and I tried this place because of all the other good reviews and we were in the area. My wife is pretty pickey compared to me and she even loved it. She got the chicken strips meal and I got the chicken wings and shrimp. I also got a gyro sandwich. Everything was EXCELLENT! We got sides of sauce which we didnt really need because the breading was so flavorful. I think the price for what we got was spot on. She also got cheesecake and loved it. We will deffenitly be coming back if we are in the area. read more

Bad customer services all around when I call to place an order they had me on hold for more than 10mins. I call from a different phone line and still no pick up finally they picked up I explain that I was on hold for more than 10mins and I have a big order to place the lady was rude and was like we were helping customers, I'm like ok cool but my money spends too and I'm also a customer you can't multi task or have someone else to take phone calls or help other customers???? Point blank she was rude as hell about it and the thought I was about to spend some money there since I had a party that I was ordering it for I just simply told her I will spend my money somewhere else where they appreciate a customer over the phone just as well in the store!!!! read more

The other reviews are curious. I like Hook. My first experience was at the Broadway place and I've been "hooked" since. However all is not perfect. The perch was a bit greasy, shrimp a little overdone. The wings were decent. Crispy. Now why 4 stars? For the chicken tenders and fries. They're fabulous. Juicy and good tasting. These are not the "parts is parts" McChunks. These are huge pieces of breast meat 2-4" long and an inch or two in diameter. Yes a lot of grease, what do you expect? It comes with coleslaw which is adequate, and a couple pieces of sandwich sliced white bread. I use it to pick up the crumbs of coating. The fries have a light batter coating on them and are crisp. They sprinkle it with a seasoning that I like. I thought it was a seasoned salt but someone called it lemon pepper. Different than any lemon pepper I've had, but good. I usually tell them to lay it on thick. Served with hot sauce and bbq sauce packets. One caution. They put them in the foam containers so if you want the fries especially to stay crisp a while, don't leave it closed. But I usually dig into it in the parking lot. $7-$10 and you're stuffed and often have leftovers. I usually go to the Broadway location when I'm in N. Mpls area but live near the Brooklyn Center one. Often I forget it's there. I'm heading there now. read more
