I was going to be in the area and looked up a new place to try. I have never heard of Slim's but it looked good and it was on my way home. I was pleasantly surprised by this chicken bowl! It's probably the closest chicken and rice dish I've had outside of the famous Manhattan screen cart (IYKYK)! The chicken is flavorful and cooked well, the rice is good AND my favorite part was the white sauce! It all just goes so well together. The fries were ok, guessing they would have been better if I had them fresh, but by the time I got them home they were cold and soggy. The seasoning was good. read more

After doing a Google search for halal options nearby, Slim's came up. Called to confirm, and everything but wings is halal. My toddler and I ate a crispy chicken sandwich and cheeseburger there and got a spicy chicken sandwich, cheesy fries, and a shake to takeaway for the rest of the family. Everything was great and food was out quickly. There weren't a ton of people dining in when we arrived, though there was plenty of comfortable seating, but rather a steady stream of people ordering take out the whole time we were there. What made this so horrible is, I wish food places that make orders to go give the same quality as if was to sit down and eat it there. Everything was half ass cooked. First time visiting and I had a nice experience. A few things to note: -ample parking -ample indoor seating -sandwiches and burgers don't come with a side -in-store menu features a few different burgers, but there are no descriptions, so be sure to ask or check online. I got the Carolina burger, which came with barbecue sauce and grilled onions, but was otherwise similar to the (slightly cheaper) Slims Burger. The flavor was good, with a smashed patty and soft bun. Also, I got the Buffalo chicken fries, which could easily be a side for 2-3 people. It was tasty, but next time, I'd request a little less blue cheese sauce (or just on the side). Slims has pretty good burgers, great fries and sometimes when they put enough sauce the gyro bowls. I recommend taking a visit if you get the chance. Personally I always get the gyro bowls, both meats and both sauce. The last few times I went it seems like they've been skimping on the sauce, if you order it ask for double the amount of sauce. read more

They put very little food in my gyro bowl. Probably a half cup of rice, a few pieces of lettuce and gyro meat. I will never drive off from there again without FIRST checking my food, and I don't care how many cars are waiting behind me. For 13.09, I was totally cheated. We've gotten takeout and delivery from here a few times and the fries are phenomenal. The burgers are also good, but the fries stand out. My husband really likes their shakes. We have only ever gotten drive through or takeout, so I've never been in the building, but from the drive thru, the staff seem friendly and helpful. One of the best chicken over rice food spots in the entire state. Their quality is always top notch. Once I learned you can add tomatoes and onions to your rice bowls is what changed the game for me. Side of Sweet Chili sauce is amazing too. I would recommend this for anyone. I would post my food but I already finish it! read more

I like the culture of this place. Anything with desserts such as malts/shakes along with serving deep fried foods, man oh man..melts my heart. I like the wings here. They are different, it has a thin crispy batter with a seasoning salt plus a cinnamon twist to it. We ordered the slims sauce and ranch. The mango habernero sauce is nasty, dont order that. They use to have Phillys, but not no more. The burgers look fresh but the patty is thin. It is a order at the counter and then sit down, the food will be brought out to you! The food was pretty good, the fries especially were amazing. I haven't been in for rush hour so I don't know if the wait time is bad. The ONLY issue is the pricing. Slim's is the bomb. #1 the service is great AND quick #2 the bathrooms are super clean #3 the sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had. Came because of the sign off the highway. The fries were awesome. Th burger was lacking in add ons and depth the party was enormous but the cheese was stuck to the bun top. My husband had the cheesesteak that was raved about on here. But even that was just ok. It was lacking meat. All in all it reminded us of five guys fries and culvers burgers. I have been to slims a multitude of times, however this is the second time I have eaten on the inside so I figured I should see how it goes and write a review for others to see my experience. Tracy the girl that took my order at the front I love her energy, enthusiasm, and she is very helpful. I had a business meeting with an old friend and he had never eaten at slums before. I ordered the gyro dinner with fries and a drink, and my friend ordered the spicy gyro with fries and a drink. I haven't had anything at slims that I didn't like. My friend and I had a great time, the food was good, service was good, and it was pretty quiet there. I will continue to come to slims as long as this is what I have to look forward too. read more

I'm addicted to their fries and chicken wings. The seasoning is unlike any other joint. Reminds me of east coast seasoning for crab. But please don't let that description run you off, it's just my loose attempt at identifying. In any case....soooooooo good. I cant stop ordering when I'm in that area. Loved it pregnant. Loved it when I delivered. I usually treat myself to a shake too. They have tons of sauce selections so try a few. I like the bbq and the habanero mango. Now, they also have gyros in regular form, burger, and salads. I'm a fan of the regular and the burger. 5 stars, I ordered the slim burger, and the beef was very similar to a high quality smash burger, but the TOPPINGS. Incredible fresh. Couldn't have been happier to bite into warm meat and cheese, with a cool crisp (audibly so) lettuce and veg on it. Bless! read more

First time here. Stopped in for an early lunch. Ordered the slim chicken fingers/fries, cheese curds and wings with BBQ sauce. Everything came very hot and was fresh. The cheese curds were the best, fried perfectly nice crispy outside. Didn't care too much for the chicken fingers, neither did my son. Boyfriend had the wings, said they were very good, liked the touch of cinnamon. They need to work on a new batter for the chicken fingers, very bland. We must have come in as they opened. You would have expected it to be cleaner. Floor was sticky, so were the booth seats. If I had windex in my purse I would have washed the windows myself. They were filthy, inside for sure. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back again, but it wasn't bad. read more

I have to admit I have a bias. I eat at at Slims several times per week. Mostly out of necessity as the options in Brooklyn Center are extremely limited. That said I have tried just about everything on the menu. Their food quality speaks for itself. Favorites include Gyro Burger, Chicken Strips, Cheese Curds, and Fish Sandwich. Where Slim's beats the competition(Five Guys, Culvers, Smash Burger) is their service. They hand deliver your order, they check on you several times, and are always friendly.
