3.5 stars, but I will round up to 4 because the service was very kind and the live music was amazing. We came in around 4:45 on a rainy Saturday and were so hungry. We were told they were warming up the pizza oven so it would take a little bit for the pizza to start coming out. They have a decent selection of wine by the glass or bottle as well as beer, and some sake cocktails. It's a pretty small space with maybe 10 seats in their indoor/bar area, about 6 tables outside under a tent. They had an amazing local artist singing covers of 90's tunes and that really made the experience so much better. For appetizers we tried the focaccia & brie. The brie was amazing, the focaccia was not bad. Finally, our pizzas arrived, they were a bit soggy unfortunately, but the flavor was good. In my opinion, the prices are a bit steep for pizza's. However, they do use local & fresh ingredients. With better execution it could be more worth it. I would stop by again if I find myself in this area. They did mention they have only been open for about a year and a half, so I'm sure they are still getting some kinks worked out.

Amazing spot RAIN or SHINE! The folks that work here are a joy, friendly, and personable. The food is SO delicious. Great wood fired pizza with interesting toppings and I like that I get scissors to cut my own slices. I had both red and white wines which were both very good too! I came on a rainy Saturday evening and still had the best time. They had multiple fire pits to keep us warm, overhead canopy's to protect us from the rain and most importantly live music which was lovely for a rainy day pizza feast.

UPDATE: wasn't coming back but my wanderlust spirit drew me to this new favorite area to chill so I thought I'd try Hood Canale one more time, and this time the experience was very enjoyable. Before I start, I would recommend this place for anyone, especially couples for date night, group get together, or even solo like I was, the ambience & staff are very relaxing & welcoming, and food top notch & good drink selection. Although most times & places I'm fairly invisible to others including service, the staff here was very responsive although busy & something that never happens another patron near by struck up a pleasant conversation with me, so I would have to say this is a very nice place to hang out for good food, drinks, & socializing, not that I'm looking to meet anyone, lol... I was running late again around 7 pm last night, very nice & welcoming young lady greeted me & asked if I've been helped yet, after last time I asked if they still had the house special pizza available & she was surprised but asked for me, they did & she showed me down by the waterfront seating which was open this time, even apologized for her appearance saying she was just getting off work so had a carry bag & personal effects with her, which impressed me that she would stick around to help before leaving, for the staff was very busy with a few large groups & some couples to attend to. I especially wanted to try this place to go completely off my normal patterns & tastes, & ordered their house special pizza, the Lemones de Amalfi, all pizza's are fire roasted with this topped with nice sized succulent shrimp in a special garlic sauce with lemon oil, mozzarella, & parmesan. Had a long drive home so tried one of their Zero Proof cocktails I was going to try last time, the Stormy Canale with a Clean 0, Ginger Beer, & lime juice. Not hot on the idea of seafood on a pizza but thought I'd try this since I love shrimp in so many ways, & have to admit, it was ok but I love the more subtle spiced Italian meats with mushrooms, olives, cheeses, with a white sauce on a thin crust. It was good and the crust had nice texture, I'm sure others would like it more. I'm typically a dark beer or Canadian blend whiskey person if drinking alcohol, but the non-alcoholic drink I had was very refreshing. Overall, the whole pizza & drink was a bit expensive for one, but split between 2 with drinks & appetizers would be typical in cost for a place like this. they were very busy, but would have been nice to be seated with some iced water in a glass right away, the cocktail didn't take too long to get but not enough thru the whole meal, & should have asked sooner for water. The lighting seemed a bit too dark, I liked the ambience but maybe just a little more glow in strategic places, lots of choice for seating with the tall barrel tables with very low back seats a bit awkward but I chose one for the beautiful unobstructed view of the Sound, need to set flat round tables on them with high back bar stools. All in all, this would be a nice place for a 1st date, couples, or to just meet up with someone or a group.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the pizza was fantastic !! Not to mention the view. We had a wonderful time and also happened to come on trivia night. So fun. Make a reservation if you can and check the website for open hours. It said closed on yelp but website said differently.

They do have a good wine list, but the pricing is HIGH. Think $25-$45 PER GLASS. Some of the wines this made sense for, but they really should consider adding a wine or two below $25 per glass. I have my WSET 2 and know a decent amount about wines so could understand why some of them were priced like this, but the whole menu being this high was strange. $32 for a glass of pinot noir didn't sit right with me. We asked to do flights so we could try a few things, but they said they were only doing glass pours. We asked for a rec for an acidic, fruity red and felt like the gal just told us the most expensive non-tannic red on the menu. Fine. For $32 a glass, I would not order what I got again. We headed to a restaurant after and got $14 glass pours that we preferred. This is a great place to go to impress someone with the chic vibes, but good wine can be found elsewhere at a fraction of the price. I do see the appeal though. It was also pretty loud when we went, so we chose to finish our conversation elsewhere.
