This is the absolute worst Chinese American food I have ever had. It actually pains me to drag an Asian business but this is careless, flavourless, and the antithesis of what Asian families would even serve to their pets, let alone customers. When you open the containers and each meal is khaki/beige coloured, you know it's going to be awful. Unfortunately for us, it was worse than awful. We occasionally order when we really need something to eat that isn't fast food, I always use my Chinese condiments to re-cook the food to have actual flavour. This time we didn't have the time. My god... we took a few bites and just threw it all away. I'm very confused how this is still in Maverick Square. This food is straight up gross. A mall's food court Panda Express is more "legit" and definitely more flavourful. This is lazy. read more

Horrible, disgusting the rice weird taste, lobster sauce no taste but a gross after taste. appetizers all just tasteless and dried out like they were old. I'm on a limited budget so I only get take out once a month what a disappointment I don't know what they have done because I used to like their food $45 dollars down the garbage disposal read more

This place never fails. When you want classic Chinese takeout, this is where you get it. On top of that, their service is incredible. They were able to prep an order for 2 people in under 6 minutes so that we didn't miss our bus. So grateful for that, and the food was exactly what we wanted! read more

Genuinely, one of the worst tasting Chinese food I've ever had. Rice is flavorless and taste almost dirty. The chicken taste like plastic and I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. My friend also got pork fried rice with Szechuan chicken. He had similar complaints about the rice and chicken tasting like plastic. read more

We ordered the sesame tofu, but got orange tofu. Excellent! We also got the chicken fried rice with beef teriyaki and chicken wings. Everything except for the wings was great!. Hong Kong Harbor - Orange tofu and chicken friend rice with beef teriyaki and chicken wings. Hand for size. - Chinese Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Food USED to be good. The last two times I have ordered it has been terrible. I have come to a conclusion that they are selling old food and are heating it up. This will definitely be the last time. I know they don't care what people think. The woman answering the phone is extremely rude as well. They should just close it. read more

Got some takeout for lunch because I was in the area. Food was probably a 2/5 but the service was super quick and the portions are massive so 3/5. I got the chicken fried rice and crab rangoons. Both very mid. Seems like it would be a prime drunk food or late night spot. Honestly Boston needs more places like this! read more

Their crab rangoons, french fries, pork fried rice and boneless spare ribs are consistently good. Good prices and great portions.

Eat here if you hate yourself!! Questionable meat, consistently stale rice, watery yet sugary sauces. Huge portions that you feel justified in eating because everything is so bland. As least it's cheap? read more

We grabbed take out here twice during our stay in Boston. It was so good! So much better than what we had in the Chinatown area of Boston! The egg rolls were delicious, as was the lo-mein. I'm surprised the overall rating is not higher. It is very small inside, you order at the counter. Highly recommend. Staff were nice and friendly. read more

This is a casual place to eat there or get takeout. The menu is extensive so you have lots of options. They also prepare the food quickly too so my wait time after I order is usually ten minutes. The portions are generous too so it's a good deal if you want leftovers Singapore Rice Noodles - the spice level is mild and it is delicious Beef Fried Rice - you can choose between a small or large size Crispy Pad Thai - delicious. It really is crispy Shrimp Pad Thai - good but I thought it tasted plainer than expected Egg Rolls - huge rolls Salt and Pepper Calamari - delicious. The fry the calamari and you can taste the salt. Me and a friend were in the area looking for some place to eat and this location was at the most convenient place possible. The lady at the counter was super nice and our food only took around 15 minutes to arrive? We ordered two entrees and two appetizers, Gen Gao's Chicken and the Beef Broccoli Rice Plate along with the Teriyaki Chicken and the Crab Rangoon. Both were really good, everything hit our expectations and then some. Nothing was dry or spoiled. I highly recommend this place if you're in a rush and you need something quick but honestly you could order from there and eat it by the piers. read more

Order food last night with roaches in it! When I called to complain got an extreme aggressive and rude person. I ask to speak with the manager and they hung up one me. I have report them to the FDA. read more

I was a long time customer, at least 10 years. Food has always been great! We ordered take out from them last week and NOT what I was expecting. The delivery guy was obnoxious and rude. The food was awful. Not what I experienced in the past! Take your chances if you will. I won't again! read more

Really run of the mill Americana Asian food, complete with the Pad Thai and the fortune cookie. Kitchen is open and they are pretty fast, and their combo menus are reasonably priced especially given the amount of food they give you. The General Gao's chicken was pretty mediocre - their sauces are very runny/watery and as a result the deep friend chicken bits were pretty soggy by the time I got my takeout. Boneless barbeque ribs range from ok to rock hard stale, and the pork fried rice that's in every dish they have tastes a bit old sometimes. There is seating and they try to keep the place reasonably clean. read more

Got a combo plate: The beef and broccoli was blander than the cream of wheat served at an old folks home. Also, it had carrots, water chestnuts, and mushrooms in it. Had I known that, I would have told them not to put that crap in. Perhaps they were trying to make it "pretty" for presentation purposes, but it is a divey little joint in a wicked divey neighborhood. Seriously? The fried rice was bland too, which tasted better after I dumped a bunch off duck sauce in. Yuck. The chicken wings, however, were decent enough. Not sure about their other dishes, but I'm sensing this place is only good for a late night snack of appetizers, or for the stoners who will eat just about anything once the munchies kick in! LOL read more

I honestly don't understand how this place only got 3 stars !! This place is sooo good! And the staff is so nice ! Parking is on a busy street so parking maybe a bit difficult... Other than that no complaints!! read more

The lady who took my order was extremely friendly. She read me my order back 3x just to be sure it was correct. The food was done fairly quickly. It was fresh, delicious, and with hearty portions of everything I ordered. The meat was tender and fell apart in my mouth. It was tough or dried out at all. The seasoning weren't over powering and the rice was cooked just right. The chicken finger were cooked just right as well. They batter was light and had perfect crunch the chicken wasn't overcooked at all. The best Chinese food I've had in a long time, possibly the best I've had in the Boston area by far! Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Highly do not recommend the beef lo mein or pad Thai. Should've known that the pad Thai wouldn't be so tasty coming from a Chinese restaurant. But not even the teriyaki chicken (chicken on a stick) taste like teriyaki. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. read more

I am not very pleased with their boneless ribs as they are just tough strips of meat and cooked to almost burnt and very tough to eat......... the vegetable low mein was sort of okay but a lot of it was stuck together....sure could have been much better and the egg rolls were not that great either and you get charged enough as they need to improve the quality of their food for sure..... read more

This score is for service. The food is alright, nothing special but I went in with a friend to pick up the food. Opened the bag and asked for extra folks because we had just moved into our apartment, everything was packed. The woman acted like I was trying to steal her folks. She told me she already gave me folks, and I asked if could I get a few more. She gave me ONE additional folk and gave me this dirty look. When we got home, one of us had to eat without a folk cause the owner was being stingy. Not good customer service, especially since we spent over $30. read more

My fail-safe cure for a hangover: 1 couch 1 TV showing football or reruns of "The Girls Next Door" Several bottles of Coca cola Copious amounts of Chinese food Hong Kong Harbor satisfies not only the chinese food portion, but it allows me pursue the first two, uninterupted, because they deliver and they do it with the quickness. Their menu is ginormous and they have a bunch of different combo platters, all for about $8. Plus, you'll have tons of leftovers. No, this is not the best Chinese food ever, but it's good, it's ridiucloudly cheap, they take credit cards and I did not have to leave the house to get it. read more

I think an important book says that man cannot live on bread alone. It's either Shakespeare or maybe Hume, I can't remember which. Point is. No, man cannot live on bread alone, but man can certainly try to live on scallion pancakes alone. If he does, he might as well get his pie on at Hong Kong Harbor. The unassuming and cramped little place in Eastie makes delicious scally cakes: crispy and filled with plenty of scallions, surprisingly un-oily, and cheap as hell. A shame that most other things here are bland: Szechuan and Yu-Hsiang chicken that both taste of celery and peanuts but no spice at all, egg drop soup that is so watery you can see right through it, tough and flavorless pork in lo mein slimy with grease. I maintain that Teriyaki Yummy in Chelsea is better, despite its cringe-worthy name. Oddly, HKH includes stale white dinner rolls and applesauce with every meal, a gesture that, if bizarre, is kind of nice. So. Stay for the scally cakes, go elsewhere for dinner. read more

A great mom and pops Chinese place that has been renovated multiple times over and improved in every capacity. By no means is this the best Chinese food around, but after a night of consuming copious amounts of alcohol and catching the train home before last call, this place is your best friend. i got food here at 1:00 am. Lo Mein was solid. The place inside was very clean and it seamed to be family run, and polite staff, star for that. Now I went here at 1 AM and was not expecting incredible food. I also ordered beef and broccoli which I regret now. Should have just got lo mein. I see these review about the place and feel a bit bad, one star, come on what are you expecting. Shout out to this place for being open late and hard working people. Dont really see myself going back here if there are other places open but if im craving some food at 1 AM again then I will defiantly take this place into consideration. read more

I saw the reviews on here and decided that I'd try a different Chinese place, actually out in Chelsea, first. I was utterly disappointed, so I decided to damn the reviews and try it myself one night on my way home from work. I only ordered appetizers: chicken fingers, crab rangood and beef terriyaki. I can't attest to their entrees. It was all so delicious that I totally pigged out and ate every last bite of it. That was plenty of food for one person, but I was so wowed by the taste of everything that I didn't care. My dog was also a big fan of the beef terriyaki, which is his favorite treat, hands down. As far as I'm concerned, this is great Chinese food at Maverick and I'll be going back, regularly. read more

It truly shocks me that there are this many bad reviews. I grew up on the same block as this place and it has always been with me. My old man would come home late from work, exhausted out of his mind, and in his hand, the classic order I grew up on. What's now labeled as a D6 with fried rice, boneless spare ribs, chicken wings, and beef teriyaki. My first Chinese food experience was with these guys and now they instantly recognize our voices over the phone. I love this place, best Chinese food I've ever been to, NOBODY does crab Rangoon as creamy and flaky as theirs. To see them strive through the pandemic and go through renovations warms my heart. read more

The food itself is fairly good for your typical Americanized Chinese food. The portions are massive for surprisingly low prices They're quick, even when delivering. The restaurant itself is nice. A little loud, a little small and pretty busy. WARNING: (in my own experience) most of the time, the combination plates get a little messy between the restaurant and the destination. Be extra careful, especially if you order the lobster sauce. If you're getting delivery, maybe ask for it in a separate container. P.S. I love the lobster sauce, but it's thinner than a lot of other Chinese restaurants. read more

This is takeout Chinese, not a gourmet five star restaurant. If you want good takeout, come here. Service is quick and fairly priced. They give plenty of food for low cost.
