I had a bit of extra time before church this past Sunday morning, so I decided to try a local coffee shop that I haven't visited yet. Honest Coffee Roasters happened to be close by, so that's where I chose. The barista was very peppy and was patient with me while I decided what I wanted to order. I was tempted to get a seasonal drink, but settled on a Cortado. It was delicious! I also got a chocolate croissant which was so light and yummy! It was much quieter than I expected, but that may have also been due to it being a holiday and folks out and about traveling for the weekend. I could have easily stayed there all morning just soaking up the cozy atmosphere and listening to the music the store was playing. Lots of dance and pop hits which I love!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is sooooo cute and the food & drinks are SO GOOD!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating area inside is great and it's the perfect place to hang out or get work done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got a cappuccino, the egg bites, and a pumpkin muffin and they were all really good. The coffee was surprisingly great for something so simple. The service was great too, I'd definitely come back!

First of all, this place is adorable! Came here to study and it did not disappoint. The workers were so friendly. The coffee was excellent!! Iced coffee was 10/10. They have a build your own overnight oats option (obsessed). This was one of THE BEST breakfast options I've ever had!! Already can't wait to come back!

The staff was very patient and nice. It was a great place to go and study for finals! They play really good music too! Lattes are a tad pricey but I don't mind since I'm supporting local. My fiend and I both got seasonal drinks.

Atmosphere: Honest Coffee Roasters is a newer coffee shop in Edgewood. The interior is bright, clean, and narrow, with tables lining the cafe. The white brick walls and dark wooden counters contribute to the cozy yet modern aesthetic. Service: Our barista was super friendly and happy to explain their menu options. She also brought our drinks to our table! Food: We ordered the First Lady and a Sugar Cookie Latte. The First Lady, a latte with house-made vanilla and almond syrup, mostly tasted like almond flavoring. It was good, but we would've liked a bit more balance between vanilla and almond. The Sugar Cookie Latte, served with colorful sprinkles on top, actually tasted pretty similar to The First Lady, having a predominantly almond flavoring to it as well. Of note, we requested half sweetness for The First Lady but the Sugar Cookie Latte tasted noticeably less sweet to us, so we're not sure if they mixed up the sweetness levels. Overall: We enjoyed our experience at Honest Coffee Roasters. Their homemade syrups add a richness to the lattes, and the overall aesthetics of the cafe are welcoming. Maybe next time we would choose a non-almond syrup drink to try some variety!

Honest is a welcome addition to Edgewood, and they pull it off beautifully. First impression, in keeping with the honest theme, the interior is immaculate and clean. No clutter, or wasted space. Nothing held back. I was here on a Sunday, but I imagine this atmosphere and general vibe would be very conducive to meetings and Taking Care of Business on the laptop. Love the understated acoustic music. The service was friendly and efficient. Despite only being open a week or two, and despite a very busy Sunday morning, both my coffee and breakfast burrito were at my table before I could give it a second thought. I'm a bit of a minor league coffee snob, and I take it black so I can actually, you know, taste it, and the quality of the beans and brew was up there with the best in town. The burrito was very tasty and filling. A full meal. My favorite Valentina Hot Sauce was a nice touch! Overall, HIGHLY recommend this locally owned and operated coffee shop in the heart of Homewood. The vibe, the people and the product are on point. Cheers, and welcome to Homewood!

Their iced strawberry macha is AMAZING! Its so hard to find in the fall since some places only do it in the spring! I really hope it stays on the menu year around! I got coffee last time I came here and loved their coffee also!! I will definitely be back! Another plus is that they have an app so you can order ahead!

Breakfast Sandwich (Forgot the name once I took a bite!) First sandwich on the menu.

Talk about deeeeeelicious! Man did this Breakfast Sandwich hit the spot! Perfectly toasted, carefully curated and extremely tasty, oh and don't let me get started on that Bacon Jam that's on it! Definitely best sandwich I've had at a coffee shop ever! Get you one!

This coffee shop has such a cute and relaxed vibe. The baristas were friendly, and it was a great place to get some work done with good coffee.

    Avocado toast

HONESTLY, I LOVE Honest Coffee Roasters!! I've never had avocado toast before but this toast was so tasty! I also got the honey berry latte too with oatmilk and it was great. Service was great and the space always feels so clean and refreshing when I come in. 100% recommend Honest!!

Hands down my new favorite coffee shop in Birmingham! The drinks are really good, however, they are a little on the expensive side. My favorite drink is the iced dirty chai, but when I recently went, they had a seasonal strawberry shortcake latte which was really good. It had a strawberry milk base with a shot of espresso on top. To make it look extra aesthetic, they even added heart sprinkles! I do wish they had more seating. I like to go study there, but there are never any tables available. They do have seating outside, but wifi is really slow there. The employees are all super sweet and have awesome recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend this place to everyone!

    Very sterile atmosphere

Known for its middle eastern style offerings including Yemeni coffee and other kinds of coffee (hot or iced), pastries, crepes, and ice cream you will find it hard to find something you won't like. The place itself is a relaxed environment where you could study or catch up with friends. I tried the iced Aden latte (espresso, milk, pistachio and lavender) and it's the best coffee off of lakeshore. None of the flavors were overpowering the others. I also ordered a biscoff crepe and a sabaya. The sabaya was flaky and crispy, smothered in delicious honey. It wasn't the thickest sabaya but I enjoyed it! The biscoff crepe was so decadent. The crepe itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture for such a delicious crepe. The fruit given with it also paired well with the drizzled sauce. I am looking forward to supporting this locally owned spot more often!

I was excited to try the baklava as they looked beautiful. However, while the flavor was very good, the texture was all wrong. An authentic baklava is supposed to be crispy, flaky, and crunchy, especially on the top layers. While it is heavily soaked in sweet syrup, it should never be soggy, mushy, or completely soft. Unfortunately, the ones we had tonight were indeed soggy and completely soft.

A bold claim, no? Maybe that's all you need to know... but I love writing about coffee shops so don't stop here. I love real deal coffeehouses (yes, in a house) and it's so cozy in here. I didn't stay to work because every seat was taken both times I came in (late morning), so get here early or perhaps late, if you want a seat in the middle of the week. The baristas couldn't be nicer. They took their time and chatted with customers, a rarity in those crowded coffee chains. Do check out those seasonal lattes (I mean, for February, a cherry blossom latte? Say less). My favorite is on the regular menu, a salted rosemary latte and it's literally perfect. I adjusted the sweetness level to be less so, and I loved the notes of floral rosemary and coffee. Pro tip: skip the line and order ahead!

Other than that, there is street parking on the one way next to the building, or on 18th (main drag through downtown Homewood). They have a drive-thru, but it's a bit odd at first glance. You either enter from the one way street paralleling it or from the alley that runs behind the building. It looks like you're driving up onto the sidewalk! If the line of long, it might be a bit of a wait, so I wouldn't count on it if you're in a hurry. I always get an Iced Blueberry Vanilla latte, and it's ~$7. Their rotating seasonal menus have some pretty interesting combinations that I always like to try!
