After looking up the hours of this pharmacy, I arrived at 8:55 - there was a worker throwing boxes away and since I was the only car in the lot, obviously I was a customer. I waited until 9:00 to go in - the door was locked - One can easily see inside, and the workers were in the back, chatting. At 9:05, they unlocked the door.
I was there to pick up a prescription for my pet - a thyroid medication. Imagine my shock when the woman at the register said $38.00 - I could not believe my ears and actually asked her to repeat the cost - again, $38.00 - I have been paying $17.00 for this product from my old veterinarian - only last month. I took the medication as my pet needed it, and left.
This evening, I recieved a call from Hometown, questioning if I was upset today, as I was a new customer. I explained that they were late in opening and he told me that the pharmacist was stuck in traffic - I said to him that I don't have the luxury of arriving late for work and if I did, my boss would tell me to leave earlier - Then I explained that last month I paid $17. for the same medication I just paid $38. for today. He started to go on about the high quality of their medication and I cut him off - we are not talking about splitting atoms - we are talking about thryoid medication. This medication cost pennies on the dollar and even at $17. the old veterinarian was making a profit.
I then stated that the bottle was only half full and he started with the story (this man had a story for everything) that the bottles they use are differently structured and I cut him off - telling him I have both bottles (the old and the new) on the counter in front of me, and they are exactly the same - he then blamed the new veterinarian and how he called it in. I said "Manav" do you rapid fire every unhappy customer with excuese after excuese until one "may" stick? He then stated "I don't know what the other Dr. was filling the prescription up with" - I again stopped him and asked him what he was insinuating - Do you think he filled it with Kool Aid? He stopped with his nonsence.
I will NEVER go back to this pharmacy - and I will let everyone know - including the new veterinarian, where they can purchase medication for their pets MUCH cheaper and VERY high quality. Most EVERY pharmacy compounds now, so this is no longer a "catch" to bring people in and then charge them more than double the price.
