I made the unfortunate mistake of calling this company instead of the recommended company that had installed the original system. I won't name them, but they certainly did rework the existing system and got it working just fine. The house belongs to my mother who is 82 and handicapped. Their tech arrived and was courtesy, and professional. I had suggested over the phone, that I thought the problem was due to a blown capacitor, as a plumber with years working with a A/C company I had some knowledge of A/C systems. Their tech concluded the same and added a hard start relay and capacitor, but left the dead capacitor in place. I scratched my head wondering why didn't he just replace the capacitor with a replace type instead of adding this one to the dead capacitor? After some time nothing was cooling, so I called the company and talked to, I take it the owner and told him what had happened. I believe he was the person who came out, and looked at the system, he was clearly aggravated and somewhat rude slamming the garage door. He said nothing was wrong with what the tech had done, but suggested a new system. I asked for an estimate, and he gave fair estimate on a basic replacement system, he made some adjustments and left. After 20 minutes nothing was cooling. I called again and he made it clear he was going to do nothing, I called my brother and law at American Pride, and he got the right company to come out and change out the capacitor and remove the hard-start cap.
They were extremely kind and told us if anything arose, to call their man personally. The tech said this company's tech didn't know what he was doing and he was right. The system has been working perfectly ever since. We were charge some $270.00 for a $20.00 part and yes, I do understand mark up and labor cost. We were able to recover some of the cost of the bill and received a check in the mail in all fairness. After this initial experience, I would avoid any future dealing with this company. I realize that this will be read as that "one or two" negative endorsements, but this was our experience with this company. read more
