Had another company send a tech out to fix my AC. Installed a new part. Didn't fix it. Then they sent a second tech. Still not fixed. Called Gary Air and their tech noticed the wrong part had been installed. Hard to fix something with the wrong part. I did need to replace my AC and I am very happy with the Gary Air team. They were prompt, polite, courteous, and happy to answer any questions. Great clean-up too! read more

Pricing was good after asking them to meet or beat my other quotes. Installation was good to marginal but they came back to make it right. Apparently, the installers don't know that you should always use duct putty to seal the line set coming from the air handler when installed in an unconditioned space, as cold air was blasting out. One of the units was hung in the garage and the installers didn't modify the old threaded rod location and one rod blocked the air handler filter door so it was unable to open. They did come back and fixed that along with doing a better job of sealing the existing duct connections that leaked badly as the supply duct actually disconnected from the air handler after the initial installer left. All seems good now but they need to use good HVAC mastic tape for sealing rather than just cheap foil tape covered with paint on goop that shrinks and cracks when it drys. Good knowledgeable installers are hard to find nowadays. The owner, Rob Brooks, was very responsive before and after the installation and their sales rep, Bobby, did everything to make the sale. I would recommend Gary Air but don't expect perfection from any HVAC installer anywhere these days. Use common sense and complain if not done right. They'll fix it! read more

Considering all the great reviews for Gary's Air, I was anticipating a good relationship with them. Our experience has been the opposite! We had a Rheem unit installed in mid-October 24 by Gary Air. In September, 2025 we noticed a water puddle in a guest room that originated from a leak that was coming from the wall between the bedroom and the air handler. We called Gary Air to check the unit and to do a preseason check while they were here. We were charged a diagnostic fee to check the leak and were told it would be refunded if the issue was a warranty issue. The diagnostic check didn't find anything that could cause the leak but did find that the Refrigerant Regulator needed to be replaced. When the technician returned a couple of weeks later to replace the Refrigerant Regulator the fan was making a strange noise. He told us the fan was not working and we would have to shut down the air conditioner (when it was 90 degrees out). They would order a new fan. He also mentioned that the water on the floor was likely related to a faulty fan. The fan would stop working properly which caused freezing, then the water would thaw and leak through the wall. When I talked to the office about scheduling the repair I was told the part would be covered but there was a 1-year labor warranty and it had expired a week before. I reminded them that we made the original call about water coming from the air handler while the unit was less than a year old and was told that they weren't sure it was related. And it would be 3 days before we could get the part. We were without AC during 90 degree temps - exactly what we were trying to avoid by replacing our aging unit a year ago. They did agree to give us a discount on the labor but wouldn't give us the warranty on labor even though we called before the warranty was out; it was only a week past and the water leak hasn't recurred. Today, with the cold weather, we turned on the heat. The unit continued to blow cold air and the temperature kept dropping in the house. We called another HVAC service and they responded quickly and determined that a wire to the heater wasn't hooked up, so the fan would work but no heat could be generated. All in all, Gary's Air has shown poor regard for their customer, making excuses and sloppy work. We will definitely not be using them again. read more

I had a new air conditioning unit installed in March. It failed inspection 3 times and has caused a flood in my home twice. I've left more than a dozen phone messages for Gary to call me to see how we can amicably resolve this matter (I spent over $5300 on a new unit that is neither reliable nor efficient). However, he has refused to return my call. Choosing this company was a huge mistake. (when the tech came after the first flood he commented that he once caused a flood in a home with wood floors and the people were much more "understanding" than I was, and I had tile floors). read more

We've used Gary Air for the last year for quarterly maintenance, as they were recommended by our friends. Andrew, our service tech is always there we he says he will be and is very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He never tries to up sell you! Our main AC unit went out on a Sunday afternoon, they were able to come within a few hours. Unfortunately, the unit was 15 years old and we needed a new one. Within 24 hours I had a new AC unit installed!! Both service techs were professional and nice as can be! We are on vacation at my in laws condo and figured out on Friday night the air isn't working, and it will not go below 87 degrees. Little uncomfortable considering the outside heat was better than being inside. We called and Ryan (the on call guy) called us back immediately. Because this was after business hours we that we were going to be charged an arm and a leg..... Nope, super reasonable. 100% positive experience. Our AC burnt up. And actually turned emergency heat on while we were out of town. Had a quick fix by another company and had them come back to provide an estimate for new AC. We also called Gary Air based on a friend's referral to get a second bid. Both companies came in close but Bob Thurber, the sales manager at Gary Air, went the extra mile for us and made several options for us to pick from. Final bid came in lower with Gary Air and we got an ultra violet light as a free add on. The installation techs were very polite and picked up after themselves. Bob even stopped by on installation day to make sure everything was going as planned, which we felt was above and beyond. We also had a major issue with existing unit that both AC companies pointed out. The last installer never installed the third return because it was too hard to access our attic because we have vaulted ceilings throughout. The techs spent more than two hours crawling in the attic on a very hot day, climbing in through closet access and finally were able to cut a hole in a hard to notice spot on a plant shelf in our hallway. The difference the additional return has made in the comfort of our house is amazing. This was a good choice for us. The building inspector, who came out after installation to clear the work, even commented that Gary Air does good work after we told him what a great experience we had with this company. read more

Yesterday was the first I needed my AC on for several weeks. What a break for the electric bill. It was a humid day yesterday so I thought I'd turn AC on for a while. An hour or so later I realized it was getting even warmer in the house. On NO, NO AC. Went to the HVAC closet and found the safety flow switch with a red light on. Glad I bought a house with one of those on it. No AC, but no flooding either. I was pretty sure my condensation line was the culprit. I added vinegar to loosen debris but had a question about resetting the safety float switch to see if the line would drain. I have had a contract with Gary Air for some time now so I was pretty sure they would walk me through the steps of resetting. When I called the lady who is always your first point of contact asked if I was a customer and pulled up my account. The first thing she said was we were just there recently to do preventative maintenance in January. When I told her my question she said she would be glad to have a tech stop by to look at it. I asked if there was a service charge for the visit. Oh no she said, we were just there so I don't think that would be necessary as long as it was a simple fix, which it sounds like. Three hours later i had a call from Tyler saying he was around the corner and ready to help. Sure enough it was a clogged condensation line. I asked to explain what and how he was clearing it so in the future I can do myself. He explained step by step and the important of each step. With a big friendly smile, he said, don't hesitate if you need us. I spoke to a bunch of HVAC companies when I was deciding on a service contract. They are all in the ball park of one another. I used Gary Air for my home inspection since they installed the unit just a few years earlier. They gave me a free service visit. That visit left a good impression on me so I took a long term contract with them. Every preventative maintenance visit, they are prompt, clean and courteous. But today they showed me the true mission of their business. The customer and their care is a high priority to them.
