This company has been a mess to deal with from early on. We called them for a 2nd quote to replace a thermostat wire. The response was good, we liked the tech who came out, the quote seemed reasonable ($500 compared to about $1800 from Cool Today). Scheduled the repair and was satisfied. Decided to them use their maintenance program at $1/month. It's been a mess since. We've had tech's no show for appts and/or try to reschedule an appt same day after I took off work to be home for them. Responses from Badger Bobs (if you can get someone to answer) is they are under staffed. Even worse, I have called and emailed to cancel the $15/month now 2-3 times, and am still getting it on my credit card now for 3 months, so next step is to file a claim with my credit card. read more

I had a brand new a/c installed 13 days (8/15/25) ago and woke up this morning to a hot house. I called and was told they would send someone out from 11-2. That was there first opening. I think this qualifies for emergency service given that it was just installed. Spending almost $10K for an air conditioner that stopped working after 13 days is unacceptable. Not to mention that when the County came out to inspect, it did not pass the inspection. On the day of installation I was charged an extra $800 because they had to do extra work under my home. That should have been part of the installation service. I received one quote for the a/c and installation and then had to pay an extra $800 the day of installation. Also, after the initial installation they left my yard a mess and had to come back a few days later to clean it up. I would not recommend this company. Customer care team never reached out to me to address the problem. UPDATE (9/11/25) : Installation failed inspection by Sarasota County two times so far -- installers are pretty incompetent. Company will have to come out again to correct work done and will require a 3rd inspection by the County. UPDATE (10/7/25): Still waiting for my 3rd inspection from the County. I called the County and was told that a 3rd inspection had not yet been requested by Badger Bob's. I had to call Badger Bob's and ask them to call the County. UPDATE (3/5/26): After having my first six-month service, I was told that the system was installed incorrectly and someone would be out to correct it. No one contacted me and I had to call to get it corrected. The installation manager came out to put the correct part on. When he was leaving I noticed that the sealing around the system was inadequate and there were gaps. He said he would get back out to my house to fill the gaps. A week later, no one contacted me. I had to call again to get this service done. They told me there were notes and would have to have him call me to reschedule a new appointment. We've used Badger Bob's for over 15 years and love them. Omar- our technician for our 6 month maintenance on our Air Conditioning unit, called when he was headed our way and was on time. He was very informative and professional. I loved the pictures too so I could better understand what he was explaining to me. He gave detailed info and didn't try to "up sell" us on anything either! My only complaint is they are ALWAYS BOOKED and very busy so if I ever have to cancel an appt, it's difficult to reschedule due to my job and hubby's demanding jobs, but other than that, they're terrific! Backed up toilet in Sarasota. After a song and dance about how bad the situation was, Badger Bob's said I needed a new line to sewer. Said it would take a crew and heavy equipment. Quoted $15k to $20k. A handyman fixed it with a shovel and some new pcv pipe in under an hour. read more

Water Heater Replacement under Warranty My water heater is under warranty. It is Rheem. I called Badger Bob's because they are an authorized dealer. Technician came out and explained that if we wanted to use the warranty that we (the homeowner) would have to disconnect, drain, transport get new unit and transport back THEN call them to install. Their cost for installation only was just under $1000. Other options were offered as well. Seems they were pushing a certain agenda to "lease" equipment or an outrageous price for full replacement with them. It didn't sit well with me so I reached out to a couple of other companies and they were surprised that there was no full service option as was I. I did go with another company. Full service, came and disconnected the unit, returned it, picked up my warranty replacement and installed new for $248 total!!!! So Badger Bobs was going to charge me triple for just an install and have me do all the work to get my warranty. This was my first experience, and my last. I have told friends about my experience, and they were glad to know as they were going to call them for service as well. Do your homework folks. read more

BEWARE! After waiting a couple days for my appt, they NO SHOWED, even though I have email confirmations for the appt! Not even a courtesy call to say they were running late or not coming. After waiting all morning, I called and asked for appliance manager, "RJ", to please call me, and he never did. If they treat an established customer this badly, think how a new customer will be treated. Guess they don't value the customer's time. The salesman wanted me to lease a low quality unit that over the next 10 years would have been way more expensive than buying a high quality furnace but it would have been a windfall for them. Now I know why our high rise condo doesn't want us to use Badger Bobs. What a dicey company. Got 5 random estimates for plumbing work from my plumbing maintenance visit. Emailed and called to clarify. No response. Today, their electrician didn't show up. Told me my appointment was cancelled. Nope. Didn't even have my correct phone number to check even though I got an email say they were going to show up. I had 2 plumbers one whom I used before and one who is retired and a friend come by & give me a second opinion. They looked at the "plumbing issues" Badger Bob's plumber told me I needed to get done "right away: I showed them the 4 random estimates I running from $1,200 to about $2,000. They both told me none of the issues needed addressing. My previous plumber from another co. knew all about Badger Bobs..that their plumbers, electricians & a/c guys all get commissions. No wonder their plumber tried scaring me into thinking I needed work done or my condo would be flooded. WOW. Also that they don't do drug tests on their guys. So, I'm being "sold" something I do not need. i used to work for a large building mgr in NYC for luxury condos dealing w/contractors so I wasted my time getting info about all the parts I would need, etc. because their estimates were so random. Whatever...knowledge is power. I could converse with my other favorite plumber & figure out exactly what i needed. I'm sure they get a lot of work from unsuspecting clients. When their electrician did show up after I made a fuss because their lousy scheduling system randomly cancelled my app't. I laughed when I saw the estimate I was emailed to fix breakers in my fuse unit saying i would be at risk for ruining large appliances. HAHAHAAH. i've lived here for 10 year, my building is on the grid with the hospital & we're never lost power even during hurricanes. The few times the fuse switch went off, I just turned it back on . NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. All 100 units in my building all have the exact same breakers for the a/c since they're up on the roof. I feel sorry for them. Those guys should go work for another company where they'll get a good hourly wage and not try to scam customers. Now I know why our building frowns on us using them. I gave them a try time using their maintenance membership because it included draining my hot water heater. By the way, they jack up their prices and their discounted price was more then the one I got for the plumber whom I've used before, knows my building and whom I'm going to have fix a minor issue. His price was less than their discounted price. I respect plumbers, electricians and a/c guys..we need them...I always treat them right. All of their techs, including our most recent - Whiz, Jay and Eric, have been great to work with to fix or troubleshoot our problems, the latest of which they discovered are not with the system, but our roof. Through it all, BB's team has shown up when they said they would be here and have provided competent service and support. Basically this guy Daniel was the equivalent to a crooked auto mechanic, he replaced a part on my AC unit, said he thinks its another part and repaired that, then said it needs to be charged and it would be another $900 "but probably wouldn't work because there is probably a leak somewhere that he wouldn't be able to fix". Then said he can setup a sales call to get estimates on a new unit. I told him we didn't want new parts if it wasn't going to fix the unit, why would we pay $700 for parts and still have no air conditioning? He said he would put the old parts back but when it came time to pay for the service call he charged me for the new parts and said he could not take them back because he could not sell "used parts". Badger Bobs installed a new A/C at my condo 7 years ago...it wasn't working and, because they installed it, I called them as I knew it probably had some warranty left on it. Turns out it had 3 years left...it needed a new compressor...they told me they couldn't get one and didn't know if, or when, they could...the part would be free on warranty and they would charge me labor...then they proceeded to try to sell me a service contract at well over $300/yr, or a 'comfort club' membership at $150/month that would pay for a whole new $8500 system over 96 months, if I sell the property I'd have to buy it out...bottom line...it cost me $487 to have it diagnosed and I sent them on their way...the other company came by...they located the compressor I needed with a phone call, still free on warranty, in about 5 minutes and fixed it a few days later for over $800 less than I was quoted by BBs...these guys are more interested in subscription cash-flow than servicing customers...calling them cost me $487 for absolutely nothing. read more

Update: Vick just called and we worked it out. I rent where I live. Garbage Disposal was making noise and I checked and couldn't find anything in it. Badger Bob came out. Tech could not figure out what was wrong. He said he was confused but got it working. Disposal.was under warranty. Next day I get an invoice from my landlord saying I have to pay the trip charge because they found bones in the disposal. That was a lie. We don't eat anything with bones. I think the tech just wrote something to fill a box. But he screwed me in the process. Plus he was to be here between 8 and 11 and I was told he would call when on his way. He just showed up. Long story, I had a new HVAC heat pump installed at my home in N Venice in July. This happened while I was away. When I returned I found a mess in my garage (bad). I promptly reported to the salesman. He referred me to to the installation manager, who upon speaking to the workers said that they did not leave that way - no has been the house since July. The floor had some hardened mastic on it that could not come off. There was also drywall all over the place, also they used the toilet (water was shut off). After 25+ phone calls and messages which I documented the installation manager is the only one who came to investigate. I asked for them to pay to have it cleaned up and the epoxy floor repainted and they offered to only pay for a cleaning company to come but not cover the cost to repaint. Additionally they wanted to come after I left on a trip-NO not doing that again. Very poor communication. Still waiting for the HVAC general manager to call me, this has gone on for 2 1/2 weeks. Would not have had them do this work had I had some Idea that this how the company operates!! read more

We used Badger Bob's service last fall. They charged us $950 to replace a water heating part. When I asked them for a breakdown between parts and labor, they wouldn't give it to me. I asked for the part box and looked it up on the internet and found it cost between $300-350. The labor took 45 minutes, so it was a major rip off. Ask for a repair breakdown before even thinking about using these guys, they overcharge big time ! read more

Customer Service if terrible. Difficult to do something as simple as schedule an appointment via web site or phone. Must pay months in advance just to SCHEDULE an appointment. Loyal customers ( more than 5 years) treated very poorly. I would suggest finding another company to perform your routine AC/Furnace maintenance. read more

Our air conditioner has excessive condensation. From the first place, I told them something is not right. Our house air conditioner is just one year old and they are the one who also installed. First service, they said there's nothing wrong, then condensation didn't stop. Any neighbor in our community have Badger's Bob installed doesn't have any condensation. So called second service, the manager came out and diagnosed the electrical wire in the attic wasn't wrapped and duct wasn't sealed so he said that was cause and also charged extra.But it never stopped. It got worse. Called third service, the technician seemed so reluctant to even take look in but said installer in their company got to come out and fix it. For more than one month, no contact from that department so called fourth time. The fourth technician also didn't even take a look at saying he will contact installer. Never came out so called fifth time. This time our unit was literally dripping water all over the unit. The same fifth technician showed up so later than appointment then he was very rude tossing his equipment around. I could tell definitely he was showing negligence and unwillingness. This time our pan was full of water so at least pumped water out and then again the same comment he will have manger take a look at it and construction manager should do something about our unit. This is horrible. I have never had this dumb service and none of their technician wanted to fix or knew how to fix or didn't care the homeowner's concern. This company just want to make money and once warranty gets over neglecting and treating like no one. They didn't fix our issue yet. Tried to talk with manager but even customer service member didn't transfer me saying their system can't transfer the line. This is crazy. I even put the review in their website and asked me to contact to their email address but my email never gets delivered saying unavailable server. Response to your response: Are you kidding me? That's the e-mail address your company told me to send contact info and tried more than several times. Guess what? My email never gets delivered! Server error! So this means your marketing is just showing jesters not true effort! Your email address is a fake one to just show in public. My mail never gets delivered even after more than 5 times attempts! Had water dripping from my air handler. After 2 repairs I paid for including replacing Air Handler Insulation and replacing the coil, my AC works worse than it did before Badger Bob's ever stepped foot in my house. Over 2 months, they have been to my house 6 times, did the 2 repairs, recharged my refrigerant multiple times. I was supposed to have an "experienced" technician out, but the appointment has been pushed twice. I will no longer be doing business with Badger Bob's. read more

Gave them a chance for 3 years. Multiple visits and service contracts - Replaced and Re- welded my condenser coil. Stated that it was a known factory unit. About $1H. - Soon after my starting condenser failed. They replaced it $350. The technician It should have been replaced with the coil. I called to speak with a manger 3 times. No callback. - Air handler failed. Paid extra for a second person to help get the unit in the garage. Worked fine. But the drain pipe was installed improperly and would shut down requiring service. After two follow up visits, I repaired the drain pipe and I have no further issues. - Condenser coils leaked. Technician welded and replaced the freon. $800. - Now Condenser is leaking again. I am trying a different company. Main reason. They scheduled a 10 am response. Then called to tell me between 2 and 5. After arguing with the arrogant lad. She said take it or I don't want service. So I have moved on. Only once were they on time in all these visits. The Manager did call me this time. Said he could make it right and get a tech immediately after I cancelled my service. Played me for a sucker for too long. Though that does seem to be the Florida way! read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They spent 15 minutes at our home and said we needed to replace a part under warranty. They came back next day to replace part, and I was not home. The estimate quoted was $780. For labor only. I paid them by credit card, when their office girl called me. Afterwards, my daughter told me that the guy was there and gone within 30 minutes. I then checked the air filter and it was filthy. Our unit shut down 4months later, and I learned that the unit needed to be replaced. We were scammed, and 3 people I have talked to have said they had a similar experience. Do NOT ever use them! They are as unethical as you can get!! read more

When my refrigerator freezer was encased in frozen snow and ice, he wasted no time disposing of multiple thick chunks rapidly taking over the freezer and the deli drawer. Two days later, he returned with a new evaporated cover to finish up the final steps. The original one was severely corroded. Pat Requested mini split service (which they had originally installed). It was not cooling well. The tech Juan said it needed cleaning and UV lights. The following week another technician (Junior) who came to install the UV lights. Junior struggled for over 2 hours and could not finish the job. After that time, he said the real problem was that the blower was faulty and that Juan had misdiagnosed the problem. He did not reassemble the unit as he was coming back the following day with a new blower and that the blower would be "free of charge". That was weird that Badger Bob's would not charge me for it. I am positive he broke the fan while he was trying to put the UV lights on and therefore he was not charging me for a new blower. He returned the following day with the blower and still could not assemble the unit back. He called another technician for help and then broke the wheel of the mini split. Still today, no response from BBob's customer service and I have no A/C in my garage. If you can avoid this company, do it!! read more

I have never written a review but needed to pass on my extreme displeasure with Badger Bob Services in Sarasota, Florida. We bought a new home with HVAC installed and maintained by Badger Bob. After only a year or so, the system motor needed replaced. We learned that the motor was under warranty but the labor to install was not covered. To make things worse, they wanted to charge me twice. First, for a used motor until the new motor arrived, then for the installation of the new motor. Last year, we had no a/c and was told that we needed a new compressor. Again, the compressor was under warranty but the labor( for 3 hours of work) would cost me $2,100! Again this year, the a/c wouldn't work! They again stated that compressor was bad and it would cost me $2,000 to install. After I complained, they sent out another technician and he stated" the compressor is fine". Do I need a compressor or not? Did I really need one last year? I have spoken to very nice people in their office but none have the authority to address the issue. They said the they would have someone call me in 24 hours. It have been 7 days and no one has called. Do yourself a big favor, don't use Badger Bob. read more

We hired Badger Bob's to replace our HVAC - take out the old one & install a new one. What a disaster! Day 1, July 10 - Two installers came to do the job. During their attempt to install the new unit, they shorted out the new a/c unit, and our two REME HALO 'blue light' units, and twice shorted out the lighting in our condo, and our TV. A third technician came by late in the day to help guide the first two installers. After 10 hours & 45 minutes, they all left. Our new a/c was blowing out warm air, no air conditioning. Day 2, July 11 - After calling Badger Bob's to tell them the new a/c did not work, a 4th worker came to troubleshoot. He determined that the HVAC unit was improperly installed, and that heat strips in the new unit were left on, and that the voltage in the a/c unit was fluctuating. He also determined that the wiring on the new air handler was installed with wiring that was too short and then spliced, uncapped, with multiple spliced pieces of wiring. The new thermostat that had been installed on Day 1, was replaced on Day 2 by the Badger Bob's troubleshooter. Badger Bob's Project Manager said they would be replacing the REME Halo blue lights that they had shorted out. For the next 2 weeks, the a/c did not seem to be working normally, as it would go on and off sporadically for very brief amounts of time. Day 16, July 25 - Another technician (the 5th one) came & installed the two REME blue lights that their earlier technicians blew out. As he was doing that, he found that the a/c unit was still wired incorrectly - that a relay and a transformer had been blown because of faulty installation. He rewired it, and we hope it is now done correctly. We are very surprised that Badger Bob's work was so poor since we have used them for years with no previous problems. It is very clear to us that the quality of their work has deteriorated. read more

I had a service contract with this company when I lived in Sarasota and I found the HVAC service to be top notch however the two plumbers that they sent out were unprofessional. One plumber installed and outside spigot and did not use current valves but rather the outdated valves that they're trying to get rid of. But it was the second plumber that they sent out when I had a whole house back up who was unpleasant rude nasty mean and did not finish the job nor did he or his managers return my phone calls to come out and finish the job. I felt like the second plumber was discriminatory and it's my honest belief that most of the employees here could use some customer service diversity training. read more
