Definitely a cool stop in (or near?) eastern market in Detroit. It's 3 floors but the one you…read moredefinitely want to check out is the first. They sell edible goods local, foreign, and basic. The problem is that everything is somewhat to grossly overpriced. The local stuff sure - for example, I paid $2.50 a piece for Bev's Bagels (decent, nothing compared to mid tier NYC bagels but better than the vast majority of what you can find in southern Michigan). But for basic (or even foreign) goods it seems ridiculous to buy here instead of a normal grocery store or one of the myriad ethnic shops around. The real star is the cheese selection. They don't have much out, but they have a multi-page list of what they have in stock and they are both knowledgeable and generous with samples. I picked up a really interesting 12-year aged cheddar and tried a few others. There are always a couple of samples out but I've found them unexciting. They have an equally impressive list of meats but I haven't had the chance to explore those. Take the original (and super cool) elevator up to the second or third floors and you can find all kinds of knick knacks from lawn ornaments to Detroit gear. I'm not sure if it was a sale or not, but the last time I was there I picked up a decent quality t shirt for a mere $10. Overall it's a cool store and definitely worth checking out, but unless you're looking for a particularly rare cheese the likelihood of finding anything worth purchasing is slim.

The store is clean and well organized and the employees are friendly and helpful. One of the best things is you can try/taste the cheese. Ask for a taste of a particular cheese you are interested in and an employee will cut the cheese and give you a taste. If you go to Eastern Market, give DeVries & Co. Cheese shop a try. Nice selection of cheese and sauces and gifts in 3 floors.

I recently purchased a container of your feta-stuffed green olives and was shocked to find the oil…read morethey were packed in was clear and had an unpleasant taste. After some investigation, I discovered that you use sunflower oil for packaging. Why would you choose such a highly inflammatory seed oil? Is it purely because it's cheap? As a company, I had hoped you prioritized sourcing quality, healthy ingredients--even if it means charging a little more. At the very least, products like this should be clearly labeled so consumers know exactly what they're consuming. This experience has been deeply disappointing and has caused me to rethink my trust in your brand. I expected better.

I haven't been to this Remark in years. I had moved to London and went the location there and loved…read moreit, such a great selection of prepared meals and salads, and especially sushi! It was nice to come back to Windsor and stop in at the original location. It's much smaller than I remember it, but just as busy as I remember it too. I went today to pick up lunch today before I went into work. I walked in the store and since I was so used to going to the location in London, that it's a completely different, smaller layout here, but still offers the same great items I found in London, the only selection that wasn't great was the sushi, I wish there was more of a selection of this item. The produce looked fresh, there is a great selection of meats and cheeses, the salad bar is new to me as the location in London doesn't offer a salad bar to create your own salad. I had opted for a pear & arugula salad which was absolutely delicious; I had also picked up a caesar salad for my brother in law as well as some chocolate chip cookies! Since Remark is a higher end market, the prices are on the higher side, they're local so they don't price match, but they do carry local produce and meat from local farms, so if you're looking for a discount, this won't be your grocery store. I love Remark, I hope to come more often!
