Was introduced to this location by my sister in law and i dont know why we haven't spent more time here before lol. It's also close to bed bath and beyond and Ikea so kill as many birds as you can with one stone. Their overall inventory is larger than the robson or metrotown locations, obviously due to it being solely homesense vs a shared space with winners and there is a lot more stuff to go through.... However the variety in some depts is not as good as other locations. The store is HUGE so make sure you have a few hours to spare if you're going to visit so you dont feel rushed. The cashier we had actually expresses her excitement when they started announcing that they were closing - i thought that was pretty unprofessional but can't blame her either

Pretty good value, hit and miss, but I love this place for high quality linens (sheets and towels) that you normally would pay a fortune for.

I love to shop local and seeing so many Canadian products that the store promotes is refreshing to say the least. Having a small business in this day and age is extremely hard and I applaud this store for it's longevity in the village, they have been there since as long as I can remember. Obviously the owner has an amazing talent for choosing very unique items and I have purchased many gifts but usually also walk out with some beautiful clothing or jewelry for myself as well lol ... also always enjoy the friendly staff who have on many occasions steered me in the right direction and then to top it off, gift wrapped my selection too! Wish On A Star fits in perfectly with the life of the village. Lots of great gifts for any occasion. Pet, guys, wedding, baby, bath, body and of course furnishings adorn this store. The best part is that all of the gifts are wrapped with lovely scented potpourri, tissue and ribbons. If you buy a gift from here, it will likely be the one on the gift table that's admired while the recipient carefully opens and saves the wrapping to use again. And if that wasn't enough, there's two love birds that live in a cage, chirping away while you admire all of the lovelies.

One of the boxes arrived completely destroyed and contained random parts from three different systems. We contacted customer service immediately and made multiple calls over the span of two months -- often waiting on hold for hours -- and were repeatedly assured the issue would be resolved. After all that wasted time and effort, we were told that the only option was to disassemble everything and return the items for a refund -- as if they were doing us a favor. By that point, the units were partially assembled and the boxes were long gone, which any reasonable customer would expect not to need anymore. They refused to reimburse us for the packaging or offer any alternative solution. Given the amount of time we already spent trying to resolve this issue, the company should have issued a full refund without requiring further inconvenience. Instead, they asked us to spend even more time disassembling the product and arranging shipment, which shows a complete lack of respect for their customers' time and effort. Disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. Stay far away from this company.

Such as a bright orange Eames reproduction chair - hey, what is this place? It's the Banana Lab, a hidden treasure trove of mid-century modern furniture and little design-y things. Hidden in plain sight, really, as it's just across the street from a Yelper fave, Big Star Sandwich. Frankly, I'm heartened there's now another MCM-focused vintage store in town! Packed into the Lab's small space is a number of nifty teak sideboards, record cabinets, chairs and other Danish modern furnishings and housewares for my soon-to-be groovier living room. Prices compare favourably to the *other* MCM store, and the proprietors here seem really nice and friendly and enthusiastic about their wares.

There's plenty of mid century furniture to choose from and upon inspection of some of their refinished items, they do an incredible job. Like with vintage and hard wood furnitures, some of the pieces are not cheap but they're unique and will last a long time. The other plus to this store is their kitschy (and sometimes original) art pieces and tchotchkes. I prefer this place to the shop in the Quay so I'll most likely come back as a few items tweaked my fancy (especially the sunburst table) and I'll be sure to let people know about this place.

From that day until now (October 2 - more than 140 days later), the sofa has never been delivered. The problems started right away. They pressured us with a "special one-day promotion" and promised a $200 discount if we bought an extra item. We trusted them and bought a coffee table, but the discount was never applied. When I followed up, they simply denied ever saying it. That is dishonest. They also sent us "gifts" (a soundbar and pillows) we never asked for. Later, when we tried to cancel the order after endless delays, the manager said we could not cancel unless we paid $400 for those so-called gifts. Even when we offered to return them unused (because of poor quality), they refused and said they were "final sale." This is unacceptable. Every delivery promise was broken. July, then August, then "it has shipped" in September -- but still nothing. The manager made empty promises and never called back. Meanwhile, payments started in June and The Brick has been taking my money without delivering the sofa. The Brick has shown dishonesty, false promises, and terrible customer service. I will never shop here again and strongly warn others not to trust this store

I had forwarded details of what we wanted -- re: a fridge and freezer -- and she placed the order with The Brick there. The Daughter then went to her nearest store here, paid for the items, and the order was transferred, all further communications and such came to us from this Coquitlam store. Though it took considerable time to acquire what we had ordered (due to back-ordering of one of the products), the store kept us well-informed of what was happening, and eventually all went well, along with a smooth and accommodating delivery to top it off. The old fridge had done its thing fir a long while, but it finally gave up and needed replacement. At the same time, we thought it would useful to add a small chest freezer to the place (a replacement for an old one which quit a year or so ago). So two new shiny appliances to use and enjoy -- a Frigidaire 12 cu ft, top mount freezer 'apartment-sized' refrigerator, and Frigidaire 5 cu ft chest freezer. We are both happy with selections made, and the total shopping experience received from 'The Brick'.

Unfortunately, they carry ONE set of sheets in red and they're only available in one size - queen! The majority of draperies were either black, grey, white, or blue. A few panels in purple and one burgundy; all being over 84" long! Deciding to take the easiest option the drapes were skipped and a set of black microfiber sheets were purchased. The girl at the register said explicitly, "absolutely no returns, refunds, or exchanges on bedding once the package has been opened". That should have been a warning to not buy them. Got home and put my new sheets into the machine (cold water, gentle cycle), then low setting tumble dry. Every stitch has tightened causing the edges to gather and one pillow case literally feel apart at the seams; can't be used at all. They're so thin you can see through them and any softness they had is long gone. Better quality sheets could have been purchased at their big box competition for a far better price. That's the first time I've been to JYSK in over a year, simply because a location was not convenient. The quality of product has plummeted to a level unmatched by any other local retailer and, based on the policy, they are well aware of that fact. Never, ever again!
