I decided to tag along to Lee Valley Tools because I was told they have some unique household items and work tools. The store entrance was very odd - the actual retail space is not really visible until the shoppers turn a sharp right and walk a short corridor to a high ceilinged warehouse-like space but sorta hard to maneuver aisles as they were set up in different angles. I looked at the wall to see their display of various drawer pulls and hooks which seem to be only available by ordering from their catalogue. They have some interesting little trinkets, kitchen oddities and stocking stuffers (it's Christmas after all) in the middle aisles and, lots of well made and expensive gardening and power tools nearby. This store is like the richer, more lit cousin to Home Depot and Rona! I decided to pickup some Star Wars stocking stuffers and was slightly annoyed by the checkout process: there was only 1 register despite a long lineup; the cashier was requesting all the customers' names and addresses and handwriting them on a paper receipt (!) I chose not to give my personal information as I'm sure they'll be sending a catalogue whether I wanted it or not.

In the fall of last year I was looking online for a particular fuschia and found the selection I…read morewas looking for at Amsterdam nursery. I am addicted to gardening and have been to many nurseries (especially south of the Fraser) and was very pleased when I finally ventured to this absolute gem on Easter Sunday. The selection and variety is absolutely top notch and the staff are very kind and extremely knowledgeable (take advantage of their expertise!). I really can't say enough about them. They are a little more pricy on some items than some of the nurseries I've gone/go to, but their stock is far superior than anywhere else that I frequent. I have now got my entire family travelling from all over the lower mainland to visit them! Do yourself a big favour and go see for yourself. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised. Happy gardening!

My Mom has also fallen in love with this plant store and insists on coming all the way from White Rock as she likes the varied selection and the quality of the plants. The best part of this store is the customer service. My elderly Mom was already near the check-out and wanted some petunias which were located in the garden centre (way at the back of the store). The lady who helped my Mom did not make her feel bad that she didn't know the name of the flower she wanted and brought her a few colors of the petunias to choose from. Then she needed some potting soil and another clerk went to get her a bag so she didn't have to move from the check-out area. Stellar customer service and products. Will keep on telling people all about this gem in Pitt Meadows!
