Dean's Greenhouse was a fantastic experience yesterday. This place was full of outdoor/indoor plants with big selections to choose from and it also had lime trees, fig trees, olive trees and hanging plants as well. It was fun joining besty for a plant shopping. You can grab a free coffee or buy water for 50cents to keep your energy going. Lotsa traffic if you go in the afternoon so shop early! It took us an hour drive from Scott Rd to get to Devan's. Petting zoo area can lure kids and animal lovers. You can buy animal treats for a quarter to feed goats. I also got to see chickens and baby goats as well. They were so cute. They sell the sweetest cherries ever it costs $1.49 per lb. Definitely go-to place for a plant shopping! read more

Ok this place is far if you live in Vancouver. Buuuuut, it has the biggest selection of houseplants, including quite a few rare varieties and hanging versions of more common potted species eg. Staghorn fern. The plants here are super reasonably priced. Its worth coming out here for the variety and price. There's also aquatic plants, veggies, outdoor landscaping plants, soil, ammendments, seeds, trellises and pots and even snacks? at the cashier. I got a vanilla orchid plant here for probably at least $10-20 less than at a nursery or garden centre in Vancouver. I did notice some plants seemed to be sold out, but they were very specific so I think it wouldn't be an issue for most people. The parking lot is huge. Traffic where it's located was bad because there was active construction going on, so try to go outside of rush hour. Staff was friendly. Overall, worth a stop if you are in the area and worth the drive at least once in the spring. read more

This is your typical greenhouse but it does offer a few unique items that I have not seen in other garden stores. A few weeks ago I was on a mission to find planters that would fit over my railing as the ones I had from a previous home didn't fit the round railings I have now. I had tried to McGyver the hooks that came with them but I didn't trust it to hold so thus began the greenhouse mission of the week. Granted, I also wanted to see what kind of plants I could bring home that week too. As I am walking through and heading to the pots I see my salvation, adjustable brackets that fit over any kind of railing AND they were on SALE. Woot, woot I have my solution. They work like a charm. Of course there is more than brackets to this greenhouse. They have a fantastic selection of plants and trees. They even have a plant called a Joey which is hard to find. The prices are a bit high in some areas and less in others but the selection is fantastic. I will be back to get some vines for the upper balcony as they will have just what I am looking for. read more

Devan Greenhouses - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Abbotsford, British Columbia

Devan Greenhouses is very large with nice wide aisles. Its very *organized* here, which makes it easier to find what you want. Ive become interested in succulent plants and I came here to find a few. They were located at the very front of the store, a small variety but decently priced. read more

Saw a post on facebook saying that Devan took away one of the florida beauty top cutting she bought without letting her know, the employee told her to put the florida beauty plant behind the counter, and she went back to grab couple pots and after checkout she went back to home noticed that the top cutting had been rippled off, and it was a clean cut, done by a professional, and how they deal with this over the phone? You can not get a refund, this is final sale, lmao well done Devan, bravo. read more

I've been shopping at Devan for years. It's even become a tradition for me to take my Mum here for Mother's Day. I've always had a fantastic experience here. The selection is amazing, the quality unmatched and the staff were very helpful Unfortunately my most recent experience will make me rethink shopping here again. My wife and I purchased a beautiful Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree for our new home. Unfortunately we received a second one as a housewarming gift. Looking at the receipt we read: "OUR GUARANTEE: We want you to please with everything you buy at DEVAN GREENHOUSES. If the product isn't all you expected it to be, return it in it's original condition with your receipt. -Trees/Shrubs/Perennials within 1 month" When I got to Devan I was told that even though it said clearly on the receipt that trees may be returned within 1 month; they meant "outdoor" trees only. I pointed out that the policy seems quite clear but, I was told too bad. I'm very disappointing that despite the very clear return policy it doesn't seem to actually apply if they don't want it to. read more

Although the people are nice, waiting in line during pouring rain was awful, however I realize it is covid. When I finally got in, half the plants did not have instructions, ie, how big they grow, etc. That was really disappointing as you had to get name off pot, and ask someone who would check their phone to figure it out. Wasted lots of time. Too bad they would not label things better. The prices are good though. read more

Love this place, selection is great, prices are way better than other places. There is a petting farm which my little ones love. The place is buzzing with bumble bees, birds and you will even find some wee little frogs. My only complaint is the gravel parking lots is hard to maneuver your buggy through especially if it's full and you also have a baby in a car seat inside. Can get very busy especially on weekends so go early or late evening. read more

My best find of the the season. I had planned a large wedding in my garden and really needed a lot of flowering plants at the end of July. I found other nurseries too expensive or found their products faulty but Devan Greenhouses made my wedding spectacular. Here's why. 1) They are true merchants . Everything looks incredible and is accessible and is the best prices I have seen in years. 2) The staff are utterly charming. Even the ones that aren't true plant people are really really helpful getting things down or helping in anyway they can. 3) The are growing a lot of their own plants so you aren't paying extra for California grown plants 4)The quality of the plants is breath taking and I actually had plant stores of my own years ago so I actually know the difference. 5) Canadian Tire charges $39.99 for whimpy under developed sorry looking hanging baskets but I bought 30 hanging baskets from Devan that were $6.00 and were so big you couldn't put your arms around them Very long too! 2 and 3 feet. Enormous and lush . Bursting with flowers. I had to make three trips to get them all home even though I have an Explorer 6) I was able to give the away all 30 of them to the wedding party, bridesmaids, close friends etc. These were really impressive living things. 7) There focus is on the plants not a whole lot of extra stuff that you really don't need. Like clothes and and plant toys. They have just enough for a fabulous growing season. 8) I had 7 double carts of plants and they had me through the check out in 4 minutes. They open extra lines so you don't have to wait. Thank you Devan............you are true professional growers and you have the brains to keep your prices low enough to keep things moving out when they are ready to go. A+A+A+A+ read more

I have been a loyal customer of Devan for many years. I have noticed price discrepancies in the past and now watch for errors. Today I noticed a few signs ($2.49) along the wall of perennials. However, the plants I chose were marked $2.29. I noticed that I was charged the higher price and brought this to the cashier's attention. She refused to charge the correct price as I "should have realized that the $2.49 applied to ALL perennials" and the clearly marked price on the pot was incorrect. I drove a short way down the street and purchased the same plants for less. read more

I used to love this place, but over the last year or so I have found that the prices have gone up and the advertised sales of cut flowers sell out by the next day or even the same day and they will not give you a raincheck... sale is advertised to last a week :( read more
