THIS IS THE BEST LOCATION EVER. (I hate the Metrotown one that location posts wrong hours on Christmas Eve ruining Christmas shopping, closing one hour earlier than posted, and their lines are absolutely ridiculously long even with 8 cashiers) Robson location has lots of floor staff. Willing to drop what they are doing. And go help you find what you're looking for, walking you to the section or even checking the back rooms for more when you need multiple sets. The only thing lacking here is cashiers. Great shopping experience terrible checkout experience as they have one cashier 7 people in line and the cashier often looks like someone slapped her when she looks up to take the next customer, never fully processing that there's a huge line and oh maybe I should page for more help. And even when you say something and they page, it takes 5-10 mins for a cashier to show up..... you know "you're in the business of making money... you can't make money if your customers walk out the door abandoning the items they were going to pay for but waited so long they just gave up and left". Having sufficient inventory is one part, having the right amount of staff at checkout is the other part. Prices are good. Never had issue with that. And the selection is nice too. read more

I've been to this HomeSense at least 20 times since moving here to Vancouver and I've purchased SO many things for my new condo here - all at great prices. This place can't be beat for kitchen utensils and closet and shelf organizers and bathroom accessories. You can also find a lot of super house decor items and smaller furniture pieces, bedroom and bath linens and such, but it's a crap shoot if you'll find what you're looking for. Which, I think, is part of the fun: you never know what you might find here. The inventory changes from week to week. One tip: if you see something you like, even if you're not sure it'll work in your place, GET IT. If you decide the next day that you should have purchased it and you return to the store to get it, there's a good chance that it no longer will be there. (Note: the few times I've had to return items, I've never had a problem). I've learned this the hard way. There is a decent pet area, where you can get cute but inexpensive dog beds, poop bags and food bowls for your cats and dogs, along with lots of toys and pet sweaters. There's a decent area, too, for kids' room decor and organizers. The gourmet food selection is amazing! You can always find fabulous international foods and teas and beautifully packaged treats, all at very reasonable prices. My favorite time to come here is during the holidays (really, any holiday, but especially the winter season): there is a ton of holiday decor and fantastic gift items for sale. I got some lovely boxed Xmas cards here, at a fraction of the price found elsewhere. I really like how, regardless how long the line is, it always moves quickly and efficiently. And the cashiers I've always had at check-out have always been great. One last note: my family really appreciates how this store has clean public bathrooms in the rear of the store. Nice! read more

Not too bad. Like to get clearance items here. Staff are not in abundance, but its always been friendly and efficient. Returns are easy as long as you have your receipt. Watch out for the pigeons by the entrance from the street. They shouted loudly and abruptly when a man passed them and said something to them while we were standing there wearing our masks. This was the first time that I heard the pigeons sounded so loud. I did not know if that man did something to trigger the pigeons to do that because it was quite unusual. read more

Located in the newly opened L'Hermitage building on Robson Street, HomeSense sits atop the relatively new IGA. How great, you must be thinking, for those patrons who live above IGA and HomeSense! Well, I would be excited if I lived above a grocery store but I sure as heck wouldn't be excited for living above this particular HomeSense. I like HomeSense. I like it because I don't expect much from it but it always seems to deliver something or other that I need, like a vase for 3 dollars or a shower curtain for 10. Unfortunately, this new HomeSense always looks as if a nuclear attack has taken place inside its doors and the staff were not-so-innocent by-standers who have no intention of cleaning the mess up. In the spirit of Winners, HomeSense collects home decor, bedroom accessories, bathroom accents and everything in between, so I am aware that the general idea behind HomeSense might incur some messiness, but c'mon! Combined with the fluorescent lighting, this particular HomeSense conveys a sense of nuclear landfill meets crappy home decor and sub-standard service. A desolate wasteland where sad home accents come to perish....I could go on, but I'll save you the time and tell you to find another HomeSense to go to. read more

I went to both HomeSense in Landsdowne and downtown. They both have really nice selection for home stuff. Although their pet supplies and accessories are not a lot as compared to pet store, you can expect to get really nice high quality options with decent price, depending on which day you go. I went on a Sunday and the store is clean and organized. Cashier is quick so we didn't have to wait in a long line. read more

My first time ever to a HomeSense and I was kind of excited. A friend said they sold curtains - wrong, at least not at this one. I thought I'd look for a heavy frying pan as the one I have is warped now. All the ones I could see were Teflon coated. They had a lot of Teflon ones if that's what you're looking for. I did find a Henckels knife sharpener for $20 so that was ok. I also got new bedding including some Egyptian cotton sheets. The prices were decent but the selection was minimal. I just happened to find something that went with our room and was appealing. I know this will sound lame but I would rather have gone to IKEA. read more

I've been to this Home Sense many times, usually as a quick looksy after a visit to the IGA below. My NUMBER ONE pet peeve with any business is when they close before the advertised time. On Friday evening, I was about to get on the escalator at 8:40pm and the metals gates were already being closed, and I left. This is not cool. Not cool at all. I'm a big fan of Homesense and always visit the stores in Burnaby, Coquitlam and on Cambie. I dropped by this one on a weekend and found some great deals on a spice rack and artwork. This store had a great selection and didn't feel like it was "picked over", which is the feeling I sometimes get at other Homesense stores. The best part of my visit was the cashier. She was friendly, positive, and thought to ask if I would be walking with my shopping bags and offered to double bag it for me. Out of all the many Homesense visits, that was probably the best customer service I've had. read more

This is the only HomeSense I've ever been to, and based on other reviews- the other locations are better. I'm not sure though- because one of my biggest gripes is the price. Isn't that how they advertise themselves, as cheaply discounted nice stuff? Nice or not, their stuff is full price to me. A few things I've needed, that HomeSense could not deliver: -queen size sheet set, that doesn't look like it belongs in a retired couples house. The only patterns I saw look like outdated wallpaper. -medium sized pot with a lid. They sure had this. But is there nothing under $40? Give me a break. -Candles....with barely any fragrance. Maybe you should try the location on Mount Pleasant instead? But I'm thinking that the overpriced prices are probably at each store. read more

Ooow, wish I had discovered this place sooner! It's like a mini Bed Bath & Beyond. I went hoping to find a short (32"H) table to put my turtle's tank on. No luck there, but I found several other things I had looked elsewhere for and was starting to loose hope of finding, most namely a hanging paper-towel holder ($6.99). There was also a ton of kitchenware and glass containers (vases, tubes, etc). Not sure what to do with one, but as soon as I find an excuse. Also worth noting: a large decorative/weird pillows section. I can't wait to go back a pick up more goodies. They have a good stock of bed sheets that I'll be perusing next. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service policy. I called at 10:30 to say that I'd seen two end tables I wanted. Asked if I could pay by MC and pick up at 1:30. No. Ok, then can you put them on hold for three hours? No. Ok, then can you go check to see if they are still there so I'd know whether or not to bother making my way down there and arranging for a truck to pick up on a lovely saturday afternoon when I could be doing other things? I also go in there for dog treats as it seems they're cheaper than pet stores for dog treats!!! Score! Sometimes it's a bit disorganized, but it's relatively clean. I would like to have HomeSense a better rating, I really would, but holy hell I've NEVER experienced worse customer service in my life. Ever. The customer service here deserves zero stars if anything. I had bought a sheet set here that I needed to return. I returned it in the original packaging, with the receipt, within the allotted time period for the return. Earlier that week I had lost my debit card and had to get a new debit card. The sales clerk stated that they would only give me store credit as I did not have the same debit card. I explained (in vain) that the previous debit card was not in my possession and that my new debit card was attached to the same bank account. I was not asking for cash back, I was requesting a return to my debit card which was the same form of payment used. The cashier refused to budge, and insisted I get a store credit. I was royally pissed off and asked to speak to the manager. Same song and dance. I told them I did not want a store credit for over $100, especially when I have the receipt, packaging and am returning within the allotted time. Finally I asked to have the phone number to their head office. And that's when they budged and did my return. So incredibly ridiculous. I certainly did not feel like a very valued customer and will not be going back to this location anytime soon. read more

I live within walking distance from here, and I have to admit after an indulgent home cooked meal, I go for a walk down the aisles of Homesense and look to add new additions for my office or home. If you know me, and have gone to my home, you know that I keep things simplistic and minimal so the addition of new home furniture usually means something new comes in and something old gets donated. This place always has creative, modern furniture at reasonable prices. I bought a bench/couch here for $150 and because one of the legs came off, they took off $25 and I got the couch/bench for $125. I just went to the dollar store and bought some $2 -metal epoxy and glued the leg back in. it was simple and easy. It was a neutral grey color and I just love it. Its firm, cute and practical. I often will lie down on it if I have a mini break at the office. They also have beautiful bed sheets too, all different thread counts from 300 to 1000. They carry Egyptian cotton ( the softest) and cotton sateen. Staff is extremely helpful, and their 30 day return/refund policy is always guaranteed with receipt and TGX swiped purchase. If you don't have a TGX card, get one , they are free, all you do is get one from a homsense cashier, go home and register your card, and all your purchases at winners/homesense have a 30 day refund policy (w receipt). If you dont have a TGX card, your refund/exchange is 15 days. I have even returned things here without the tag (but always with the receipt) and the staff have always accepted it. This is a great place to shop and try furniture out at home and if you have buyer's remorse. then return it, and get something that you really suits your home/office. Happy shopping! read more

I find home sense downtown is getting worse with their inventory and service. I go there regularly, but on Boxing Day had a bad experience. The store was unkept. Things lying around in the wrong place, things on the floor, low inventory. I was looking for decorative couch pillows...nothing was on sale. I was surprised...Boxing Day is a big misleading marketing day trying to get people out to shop. Nothing was on sale, except Christmas stuff. I looked at four types of pillows and all of them were damaged, ripped and looking like people had taken them apart and then repackaged them. I was so disappointed. I thought even if these were half off I still wouldn't buy them. I sometimes wonder are there no staff in these stores checking on things...filling shelves...making things look nice and taking away damaged product? Where has the service gone in department stores? Something else that I think looks trashy and unkept in a store is when I see people walking around with dogs in a store? I don't understand this concept? I'm an animal lover and I have pets...but having your dog, cat, bird in a busy downtown store in the middle of the city is strange to me. It's no place for a dog...leave your pet home if your going shopping. That store is starting to look very trashy. read more

The store is pretty clean and tidy, with more options in furniture and lighting compared to other Homesense locations. The annoying thing is they said they can't do stock checks via the phone. I was literally there just last night and I wanted them to see if they still have that specific product available (it was a floor lamp, not like a pot or anything), and they said they aren't able to check. I don't get what the point of having a phone or customer support at all if they can't do a basic thing like a stock check. read more

Last night my wife put an area rug on hold at the Abbotsford store. She said she'll pick it up today. We went to the store today and they had sold it. The cashier remembered the sale. The lady and two friends bought three rugs. The employee said this rug is on hold for a customer. The woman said this rugs on hold for me. Ooked at the tag and said I'm Laurie. I asked don't you check for ID? No. I'm sure the lady paid by credit card and I'd bet my next pension cheque the first name on the card wasn't Laurie. I asked don't you take it down when it's on hold? No, you have to pay for it, or put a down payment on it. My wife said there was no mention of that or I would have put a down payment on it. Sorry. The womans lack of moral fiber is not the fault of the store, or its employees. The lack of proper policy is not the fault of the employees. It is the fault of the store. My wife should have been told about payment in full or a down payment to have it taken down when she put it on hold.Now it'll cost us an extra $500 to buy it elsewhere. Needless to say my wife is extremely disappointed. To me Home Sense only thinks of the dollar. Not it's customers. read more

You can't go wrong with homesense! They have wonderful things in Stock and the prices are unbeatable. I've got from them some fine items to decorate my place and paid 3 times less the amount I'd would have paid for similar items in other home decor stores. Also, Rita, the manager, is extremely helpful and tries to accomodate your requests the best she can. read more

I'm a big fan of homesense, but gotta give this location only three stars. It's fine for basics (usually pick up olive oil and candles here), but the selection of art and furniture is seriously seriously lacking at this location - all of the paintings and other big ticket items I've picked up from homesense have been from their cambie location. Not sure if they just get less merchandise or if stuff gets picked over quicker at the downtown location. Either way, it's worth a trip to check out the cambie location instead. read more
