I had the worst shopping experience ever with The Brick Coquitlam (3000 Lougheed Hwy). On May 15, 2025, I purchased a sofa with financing. From that day until now (October 2 - more than 140 days later), the sofa has never been delivered. The problems started right away. They pressured us with a "special one-day promotion" and promised a $200 discount if we bought an extra item. We trusted them and bought a coffee table, but the discount was never applied. When I followed up, they simply denied ever saying it. That is dishonest. They also sent us "gifts" (a soundbar and pillows) we never asked for. Later, when we tried to cancel the order after endless delays, the manager said we could not cancel unless we paid $400 for those so-called gifts. Even when we offered to return them unused (because of poor quality), they refused and said they were "final sale." This is unacceptable. Every delivery promise was broken. July, then August, then "it has shipped" in September -- but still nothing. The manager made empty promises and never called back. Meanwhile, payments started in June and The Brick has been taking my money without delivering the sofa. The Brick has shown dishonesty, false promises, and terrible customer service. I will never shop here again and strongly warn others not to trust this store read more

This particular Branch of 'The Brick' became the final destination for a recent order of two kitchen appliances we originally arranged to purchase via the Grand Daughter in Calgary. I had forwarded details of what we wanted -- re: a fridge and freezer -- and she placed the order with The Brick there. The Daughter then went to her nearest store here, paid for the items, and the order was transferred, all further communications and such came to us from this Coquitlam store. Though it took considerable time to acquire what we had ordered (due to back-ordering of one of the products), the store kept us well-informed of what was happening, and eventually all went well, along with a smooth and accommodating delivery to top it off. The old fridge had done its thing fir a long while, but it finally gave up and needed replacement. At the same time, we thought it would useful to add a small chest freezer to the place (a replacement for an old one which quit a year or so ago). So two new shiny appliances to use and enjoy -- a Frigidaire 12 cu ft, top mount freezer 'apartment-sized' refrigerator, and Frigidaire 5 cu ft chest freezer. Lousy Simmons mattress sinking in after 3,years bought in 2018. Teenager mattress. I called to claim the warranty, 10 years, it's a lie. First after an inspector came and said slightly worn. So it is 3 inches depressed on one side, the one he sleeps on. Coquitlam Westwood Brick finally answered my questions after many calls and emails. The lady had the gall to say the reason for the rejection was because we had a teenager sleeping on it. Wear is the warning under 12 and under 90 pounds. What a ridiculous company. Hi , I would like to say this branch is perfect place in hole Vancouver. They are very organized and very very on time for delivery. I bought a dishwasher from this store, they email and texted me one day before delivery to let me know about the time they do delivery. on day delivery, driver called me ahead 3 hours before, to give me estimate time. Very poor consumer service as always, they never change. When needed to sell product, managers and sales will be all around you, but when there is an issue, no one would like to help. My last experience was horrible. Purchased coffee maker and when I was testing at home, started leaking on the side where shows the water level. Store did not take it back and suggested me to contact warranty, it was not even a week I have purchased the product. Manager was not helpful, all she said is contact warranty and laughed at me when I was requesting my money back. Terrible service received from manager Kim. Absolutely no manners! Manager (Kim) is the definition of a woman with attitude. She does NOT try to solve the issue you are facing, but also makes you very angry and makes your shopping experience a terrible one. I went in to upgrade a dining set that I had purchased from their website. I ended up returning my full order and walk away empty handed just because of the way Kim spoke to me. The poor associate (Belinda) was VERY HELPFUL and spent several hours with us, helping us pick the right fit dining set for our house. She ended up losing a sale due to Kim's unprofessional attitude towards the customer. I will NEVER step into The Brick ever again in my life. Other competitors provide way more professional service, and their managers actually LISTEN to their customers. All I heard from Kim, the store manager, who did not introduce herself, nor said hi to us when we brought up our issues was :" There is nothing I can do" with an attitude. Their return policy on defective items is terrible. We had a defective mattress that was covered under warranty. They charged us a second delivery fee ($90) for the replacement of the mattress. BEWARE their "Satisfaction Guarantee" is utter garbage. I bought a $1300 adjustable platform bed for my father who is almost 90 years old with dementia, so it is a big deal trying to get things changed in his world. The bed was delivered Tuesday, we put it together on the weekend and it doesn't work. In contacting their Customer No Service department I was advised that I had 48 hours from delivery to contact them otherwise I was SOL. I had a very pleaseant shopping experience at The Brick. I purchased a Power recliner Couch, a Fridge and the All in one Maytag Wahser/Dryer. The manage was extremely helpful. The couch was a floor model and the manager arranged for the couch to be to my home. The tow men who delivered my couch were professional and courteous. I guess it's an okay spot to shop for household goods -- decent prices and wide selection, but somewhat ineffective salespeople. We spent some time trying out mattresses, but we're only told about the technology of each mattress, not what the technology meant for our sleep. The salesperson was good at giving us room but didn't know how to answer our questions too much. The salesperson was very bummed when we said we were going to continue our shopping elsewhere, even when we said we'd be back if they had the best option for that. Words cant describe how disappointed my family and I are over our Appliance purchases. We ordered appliances for our new house in June 2021 to be sure we would have everything for moving into our new home. We managed to get everything but our Eye level oven/microwave. We were not informed till the rest of our appliances were delivered that the oven we ordered had been discontinued and we would have to purchase different. The problem was we were moving into a pre fabricated house and the Rough in sizes for the appliances had all been complete. They only had 1 other oven with the same opening and it was $3000 more and not available till 1 month after moving in! When we go to move in we move all our appliances in the packaging so we don't damage them and when we open our fridge one of the doors is dented so bad you notice it as soon as you walk in. They would not do anything about it because we did not report it in 48hours. How are we suppose to report something we cant see? We cannot take of the protection packaging while it is stored otherwise it would get wrecked. After a month of living and a multiple phone calls to solve our fridge problem and find out a delivery date for our oven (without any success) they call to tell us the oven will not be here for another 4 month! They did not offer any apologies or anyway to help. Just a simple you and your family will have to continue using a toaster oven to heat your food. Will never buy from the brick again. I understand things can get delayed but we were patient the entire time and never got upset over the phone but still my wife and I were treated poorly when we called and never got offered any help other than an email address to corporate that never responded no matter how many emails we sent. read more

Bought a dining table from Brick in Jan 2019. I discovered a minor wood chips damaged around Oct 2020. Immediately I call up follow up with an email the same month. It took them almost a month to reply to my complaint (November), and another month (December) for someone to drop by my place to investigate their damaged. The person who do the inspection promise someone from Brick will contact me within a week after the visit After waiting 2 weeks and no feedback, I left a few messages for them to return my call. After a week waiting and still no reply from them, I decided to visit their branch in Coquitlam on Jan 16 2021. The reply I received from their manager was shocking and unbelievable. They told me because I waited too long to made a complain, that the damaged has become bad and it was not covered under their warranty I told her the complaint was made in October 2019, and it took them 2 months before they send some one to investigate. I would suggest if you need furniture, shop some where, because their furniture quality are bad and it doesn't last long. Purchased sofa and bedroom set in July 2021. They first tried to scam us on delivery. Paid for delivery and the agreed terms was to have all items delivered. They wanted to refuse delivery on some of the items and were trying to have us pick up the items from the warehouse in Delta. They then sent us a USED and damaged sofa when we had purchased a new one. They also broke the back legs of the dresser sometime during transport and delivery. We called them right away. We heard back nothing. About a week later we call then they deny having to do anything cause we didn't report within 48 hours when in fact we did report within 30 minutes of delivery. It is going to take too long to go over all my communication with them. Long story short, spoke to 3 CS staff and 5 different managers. At every turn, they evade taking any responsibility, and in order, they always pass the blame to the customer first, then delivery, then the factory providing them the items. At no point do they ever claim responsibility. They then proceed to go through extreme lengths to not provide any written communication or agreement. I requested on half a dozen occasion to be contacted via email so I will have proof of conversation and agreement. They denied every time to the point where the manager said I should call to receive help or nothing. As you would expect, they agree to terms over the phone on multiple occasions, a week or so goes by, nothing happens, call back, and they deny having agreed to anything. Happened so many times. Came to some agreement in August. We waited. Heard Nothing. Followed up in November, then they once again proceeded to deny and passed the blame to us again for not following up on mistakes they did!!! They make the error and demand that the customer has to follow up with them to ensure they do their job fixing their mistake. Once again, lots of frustration and back and forth. First week of December they agree to refund 70%. Surprise, surprise, they refund 26.5% only and only after 3 weeks of waiting. We call, then they say oh no, we agreed to 40%, we refute that but then also point out that even if it were 40%, they didn't even refund 40%. So clearly, they just cannot stop lying. One lie after another. They lie once, they get caught, then they lie again to cover up the previous lie and make up a new one. After more calls, then they agree to send the remainder. They send another 9.5%. I call again, then the manager makes a stupid excuse that it was sent in two batches for some BS reason. At that point I didn't care, just wanted them to actually honor the agreed upon terms. 2 weeks later, still nothing. Back in August, contacted Brick HQ once over the phone and twice through their online complaint submission system. Over the phone they said they escalated the matter and will contact soon. Never heard back. For the online submissions, they never got back to me but after 10 days, I received a survey to provide feedback on their "customer service". I let them know I never received any and nothing. I have not heard back from them once for 5-6 months. So clearly, the policy of evading any responsibility and providing any form of customer service starts from the main HQ. It must be in their staff training. Cause I have had that take place from both their HQ and their staff at this Coquitlam branch. They are an absolute scam. They collect your money, send you their damaged goods, then you can never ever hear back from them again. I seriously hope they go under soon. Cause they sure as hell deserve it. read more

I have a secret crush on the Brick. I bought a new couches there last year, and after the recession hit this year I decided to upgrade my kitchen appliances. When I went to look at appliances the store was mostly dead, it was a Wednesday night. The sales person remembered my boyfriend having called earlier with questions regarding certain models we were going to look at. The sales guy was great, I have a tendency of saying things to get reactions and he had a good sense of humor about it. He answered our questions about the pros and cons of their financing vs paying today kind of thing. Best part, I got my fridge half price and although they were brand new models my stove and dishwasher were discounted as well. No complaints! I went there to buy all new furniture for my place. The sales lady, krishma, sold me these items. I have no experience in furniture and was un clear about what I was purchasing. She sold it to me without any proper care, she should of explained to me that if I made these purchases it was final sale and I wasn't allowed to get a refund or exchange. Instead the furniture shows up with movers who broke some of it or was not what I thought I ordered. I called them to try and work something out and they said there is nothing they can do. So now they are doing nothing for me. So I would be ware in purchasing anything from here because if it's wrong, they will do nothing for you. They are rude and made me feel like garbage. The sales manger, Gurmeet, was condescending and said she spent over an hour with you. She spent an hour with me because she was getting my order wrong and forgot to charge for the bed on the invoice at first. She spent all the time asking me if she got it right but she was constantly screwing up. Honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had in buying furniture. If I could give The Brick Coquitlam ZERO stars I would. Do not shop here- this location is absolutely brutal with their customer service. Part of my online order was not received along with the delivery. The delivery men literally shoved the paper in my face and made me sign before I could even open the boxes. Then when I phoned the store, asking them to either deliver the item, or waive my delivery and I will ask a friend to pick it up, they stated that they will not do that as I did not buy from their store so they did not get the commission so they cant do anything. Had I purchased from the store, Gelda (manager) states that she would have "taken care of me." I have written confirmation from the coquitlam store email, that states the delivery company forgot to pick up the item, which is why it was not delivered. The sales associate lied to me about what was being included in a deal when I purchased a mattress just to get a sale. When I talked to management about it they didn't care. After several more frustrating conversations with management about the issues and the fact the sales associate also ordered the wrong item I decided to go to sleep country a few days before my mattress was due to arrive. They matched the price and took another 5 percent off. They gave great service with no pressure. I highly recommend never shopping there instead. I came in to purchase a sofa, loveseat, and chair, Julie assisted me and was great, as she was leaving soon she suggested that I speak with another sales rep, she called him over and he yelled across the store to her "what do you want", completely demeaning behaviour for a colleague. He came over and scoffed at me, making comments and insinuating that I couldn't afford it, this was completely and utterly rude, he talked over me and said if I didn't commit to the sale in he would sell it and I was out of luck and flat out walked away from me. I was ready to spend $2000.00 on a set, but walked out, not before speaking to guest services about his rudeness and their loss of business. I purchased a bedroom set from them and will never forgive myself for it. I work in the furniture industry and I know what customer service is. These guys don't and don't seem to care either. The bedroom set I bought was a 6 piece set and was around $1300. I know I didn't spend a lot of money and wasn't expecting a durable, long lasting furniture set like many people do. I got what I paid for, I get it. However, the bed I have came with three wooden slats and each are supported by a little wooden leg that sits on the floor. These legs keep sliding out and and the bed is so unstable that every week I have to take my mattress and box spring off to try and somehow stabilize it. Every time my partner or I turn in bed or shift positions the bed shakes so much we get terrified that it will fall apart on us. Attar almost a year of enduring this nonsense I visited the Brick and asked them kindly if there is anyone who can help us. I explained to the girl at customer service that I do understand it is a cheaper product but that it us unstable and I just want to know if they can send someone to reinforce it. I wouldn't even mind paying for it (which I shouldn't have to). She asked me to she her what I was referring to and I took her to the exact same bed I own and showed her my problem. Well when we lifted up the mattress so I could show her the crappy slats they gave me I was surprised to see that they had very nice metal ones installed on their flood model. She basically told me that because it is a cheaper bed and my own fault for buying it she wouldn't do anything to help me. She told me to go to Rona or Home Depot and see if I could fix myself. Really? You advertise a product on your showroom flow and give me the illusion that what I am buying is identical and then send me a piece of crap. I am still battling this bed and will eventually give up. I should have gone to ikea and bought a set for half the price which is actually durable. Lesson learned.
