    Store interior.

Let's be honest: you either love these types of stores or you don't. You can go weekly and the inventory is very different. It's never the same twice. I personally love these types of stores. I never know what I will find, and that's half the fun of it all. This particular Homegoods store is large, well laid-out and very neat. (In some stores you can find stuff strewn all over the place, or items placed in incorrect sections by customers, or worse, on the floor. Here, there's none of that). It's well lit, too, and the aisles aren't too narrow (an issue I've encountered in other stores). While visiting here I asked to use the washroom in the back of the store. (Unlike other stores, unfortunately here the bathroom door is locked, and an employee needs to unlock it for you). Not the best system, but hey, I guess they need to monitor this due to shoplifting or people using drugs or something, I'm not sure. Anyhow, thank goodness I found an employee nearby and she was SO nice. Super friendly. That kinda made up for the hassle of having to find someone to unlock the door. They had the usual home decor and kitchen and bathroom accessories and gadgets here, but there was more furniture than I've seen in other Homegoods stores, and I also saw a few doggie strollers - and they were super nice! (Where were these when I was looking for one for my senior dog??? So good to see them here). They also had a fabulous section of greeting cards at the front - WAY more than I've ever seen in a home goods store. Nice! In general, they had a bigger and better selection of most everything. I was really impressed. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars and not 5 is because we had a crazy long wait at the cash to be rung out. There was only one cashier and, for the life of me and the other people waiting in line, she never called out for assistance. The other ladies in line and myself were surprised, as usually they call for back-up cashiers when the line gets long. I was really tempted to leave my cart after 10 minutes of waiting (it took 17 minutes before we could ring out! Such a long wait). Not great. But other than this issue at check-out, I was really impressed with the store.

Think of HomeGoods as the housewares equivalent of a TJ Maxx, because, well, that's exactly what it is. If you're not familiar, this is basically a discount shop for what appears to be a bunch of housewares of unknown origin and quality, priced higher than they should be. It is a bargain store, without the bargain store prices. If they happen to have something you're looking for, it may be worth stopping in, but to me, going to a more reputable store with roughly the same prices and less of a hodgepodge of inventory would make for a more satisfying shopping experience.

HomeGoods has a store that we love to shop during the holidays. The store has so many options for your house during the Christmas season. This year particularly there's a lot of variety in the Christmas arena. Come and join us at one of our favorite stores.

    Great mid-century mod accents.

The quality of the product exceeded expectations and we look forward to many years of use and relaxation. We have been living in Portland for five years and wish we had found City Liquidators sooner. We have a small craftsman cottage with limited space and David really helped us pick the right furniture for our space. If you live in a larger house the choices are endless. Not just furniture but antique bars, neon lights, classic oversized film and music posters and artwork. You can get a lifesize Harley Quinn or John Wayne wooden statue, credenza's or wardrobes along with any kitchen supplies and small appliances you might need. New and vintage choices abound. When you go plan accordingly as there are multiple floors of merchandise to choose from and free lollipops for the kids to keep them busy. Even if you don't buy anything, the first trip you'll be blown away by the selection and you'll definitely come back to get something unique the next time. That's what we did. Also, and most importantly, no pressure from the sales staff. They let you wander around and really look over anything you'd like. As I like to say you don't get the hard sell on the soft couch. Have fun.

They travel all over Morocco to hand pick the items in the store. They have some pretty stunning rugs; the kind that you buy first, then design around. If you're into home decor, these are the types of rugs you find on photos in Houzz from high end designers. The rugs are all unique (sizes and colors) since they're hand made. Some of them are very beautiful art pieces. The prices range depending on the rugs, but they seem reasonable to me. I've been looking for a traditional tribal red flat woven rug for a while, but it's really tough trying to find one online. For many rugs, you have to touch it and watch the light dance around it. The price point on my rug is pretty good, which is why I decided to take it on the plane back home. I also ended up with a pouf that makes an area in my office feel like spring time year round (posting photos). Loving the new items for my home!

The owner, Latif, was so friendly and gave us his full attention while we dragged out and looked at 30+ options! We narrowed it down and he let us take our three favourites home to try out in our own space, and connected us to his wife, Katen, for any questions. We ended up with a rug we love and they even gave us a generous discount since our favourite was a bit above budget. Would highly recommend this store. Such a great selection of unique and beautiful rugs and service, too!
