Beyond satisfied!! Our custom Stanton furniture came in exactly when our excellent salesman David said it would. It was delivered and set up in less than 30 minutes. The quality of the product exceeded expectations and we look forward to many years of use and relaxation. We have been living in Portland for five years and wish we had found City Liquidators sooner. We have a small craftsman cottage with limited space and David really helped us pick the right furniture for our space. If you live in a larger house the choices are endless. Not just furniture but antique bars, neon lights, classic oversized film and music posters and artwork. You can get a lifesize Harley Quinn or John Wayne wooden statue, credenza's or wardrobes along with any kitchen supplies and small appliances you might need. New and vintage choices abound. When you go plan accordingly as there are multiple floors of merchandise to choose from and free lollipops for the kids to keep them busy. Even if you don't buy anything, the first trip you'll be blown away by the selection and you'll definitely come back to get something unique the next time. That's what we did. This place is huge! We really weren't shopping for anything, but curious to see what they had and also seek refuge from the sun on a very hot day. The general merchandise section is a bit disorganized and crammed with so much inventory I was a bit worried a stack of merchandise would topple over on me while navigating the aisles and stepping around boxes. They have everything from home goods and decor, kitchen & bath items, garden items, party decorations, and even toys, along with a whole furniture store. This store is awesome! If you're looking for that piece of furniture but don't want to spend too much, this is the place to come. My daughter is looking to create a hangout zone in and we wandered into this cavernous store to see all the delights. Couches, tables, decor, kitchen items. It's fun just wandering around to see what you'll see. They provide furniture delivery for a fee, about the same as other stores. What you won't see at other stores, a wall of mounted deer heads. Walking around this store is like being in a scene from Moulin Rouge, it's visually stimulating and sensory overload, so much to see, so many distractions, so many "wtf" is that? Like a train wreck, you can't stop looking. You continue to take it all in, wandering up and down overcrowded, unorganized aisles. Lookin up, down, looking around. So many random items mixed in with basics and everywhere, something so unique and somehow, you have to have it. Best to take your time, do a loop, then change direction and take another loop around. Going in a different direction you I'll see different things. Trust me on this. A lot of items are completely over the top for your home, but if you owned a restaurant, having a small 2 seater plane hanging from the ceiling would work! There seems to be a love for taxidermy with deer, bear, cougar, rams, birds and even a grizzly stopping you in your tracks. They have lots of office furniture and chairs. Plus lots of plastic chairs for kitchen tables in every color of the rainbow. If you need replacement cushions For your outdoor furniture, there are lots of beautiful prints to choose from. There is a wall of neon signs and another wall filled with so many unique mirrors of different styles, something for everyone's taste. And if you need kitchen gadgets, small appliances, glasses, dishes, serving trays, storage containers, vases, candles, disposable party ware, napkins - it's all there. This is a Dollar Store meets Odd Lots meets Consignment Store converging in a huge warehouse where items are covered in dust, some housed there for years while other inventory being added constantly. Prices have gone up over the years, but it's still bargain prices. Yesterday I wandered in looking for white rectangular serving dishes. They have an entire aisle overstuffed with white dinner and serving pieces of every size, shape and style. While there, I made my way around, getting lost in areas and finding 3 unique pieces that I so wish I had space for in my condo. - I immediately fell in love with a modern acrylic ladder shelf that was both beautiful and functional. Still trying to see if I can rearrange something to make room for this unique piece. - Then I encountered an acrylic half moon shaped bar with chrome hardware. OMG, it stopped me in my tracks! It would serve a great function, while visually taking up little space. I'm still dreaming about it! - Near the wall of neon signs, there was a gorgeous teal blue, mid-century modern couch and chair. Love! But definitely can not have. Located in the seedy industrial area under the Morrison Bridge, you can't miss the warehouse with strings of flags flying overhead connecting the two buildings located across the street from each other and the plastic chairs hanging in the metal fence giving it a dumpster dive look. Quirky and a glimpse of what's to come when you walk in the door. It's easy to park right out front, no meter required, and while it looks sketchy, it's safe, just don't wander too far on foot outside. Park and go right in. Masks required and provided if you don't have. They even offer disposable gloves for customers to wear. read more

There is a large selection of things for every room inside and outside your home. Fair prices and wonderful to go for inspiration or to see what style fits you best. This place is always interesting to look around. I would say their prices are higher than before and it was always lower quality stuff but it was cheap. So not as likely to find the deals likes before. They also are taking advantage of Covid for their advantage. It's November 2021 and they still have a sign that says all sales final no returns due to Covid. Isn't it nice to use Covid as an excuse to not take back any of the low quality items that might not show up in the best condition We all know it's not like that desk chair is going to hold onto Covid and infect someone if you take it back. If you need a house furnitures or just some piece you should stop here and bring some time. This place is huge and so much fun to walk through everything. If you need fancy ideas for your next catering for friends - go here in the kitchen section that is bigger then some outlet store by itself - you might find something that will be useful. City practically has it all for the home. Imagine a big factory-like space with kitchen wares, wall hooks, drawer handles plus more on the 1st floor. Sofas, Dining Room, office, Bedroom + more on the 2nd. Even more furniture on 3rd. We had City blocked out as a must-visit 'Antique'/Furniture shop on our 1st Portland trip. Here's the thing- City is entirely a mix of both old and new. So if you're skeptical like I was...ask. MiniMe had her sights on a grey retro 1960's inspired sofa (new) with a $400 and change price tag- but it was a looker. Also on the agenda was a fabulous orange retro coffee table for about $200. Service was pleasant and folks there, held MiniMe's merchandise until she finally moved in during our 2nd Portland trip. However, there was some unclear miscommunication from City's part for delivery and my daughter didn't receive her sofa as she was promised. Come back though? I would- to buy tchotchkes and such to bring home with me because their stuff is really unique. My daughter has visited since she's been in Portland. But make sure furniture is delivered as a definite promise and not some fly by night sh*t. read more

They told me that I could order a new cushion cover so I did, and they charged me for it. It never came. I called them up, they had no idea where it was. This was after five months. The chair has held up nicely, so if you're looking for durable furniture this is one place to check out. Affordable prices. Wide variety of stock. Still, shopping here isn't easy given the challenge of parking in the area and navigating the sheer size of the store. We just moved and decided to replace a lot of our old and dying furniture. First I want to mention we purchased my last couch over 10 years ago which they were able to custom upholster in the color of my choice for free. That couch was beautiful and in great condition up until the last year when the frame broke after a poor decision on our part to stand on the edge of the couch to reach a high shelf so at the low price we paid it lasted for a solid 10 years and probably would have gone longer if we had been gentler with it. So now jumping forward to today, when we bought our first house recently we purchased pieces from several different stores including City Liquidators. Unfortunately due to COVID they no longer reupholster for free and the custom colors for the few with that option now take months and months (not their fault) so we decided to buy our couch somewhere else with the color we were looking for. But we did buy a new guest bed from City Liquidators this time. We ordered our King Bed from another store that has been a nightmare to work with (avoid "Mor Discount Furniture" like the plague if you can...) and just put into stark contrast how much of a dream working with City Liquidators has been. When our King bed suddenly wasn't going to arrive before our move-in day, we called them with less than a week's notice to ask/beg if they could deliver our guest bed early so we would have somewhere to sleep. At the first mention, no begging required, the woman on the phone checked their books and cheerfully said, "Not a problem!"... no extra fees for the rush delivery, no back and forth, nothing but polite, kind, on time, and efficient delivery. So far buying and receiving a delivery from them has been the best experience we've had with any of the four furniture stores we have used in the last two months. Which matches the same ordering and delivery experience I had with them ten years ago. We will definitely be back and I recommend them to anyone who asks. read more

I had no idea where to go to shop for a leather couch so I asked for recommendations on Next-door. City Liquidators came back as the most common answer. I checked out the City Liquidator's website and found a couch that seemed just right. Well, of course we had to go in person to sit in it to make certain we liked it. There was parking right out front and in no time we found the couch upstairs. We sat in it and (yay) it's great...so we went to the desk and placed our order. The sales person was awesome. She was friendly and efficient, giving us a quick delivery date and explaining how it would all work. Then the delivery date arrived and right on time, two guys delivered it and bam! We've been here multiple times pre-COVID and this is our first time since 2020 started. Still a really good selection. We ended up finding our replacement couch, coffee table, and an office chair. Checkout was as friendly as ever and the staff at the loading dock was awesome. They still do delivery, btw. Pros: all staff wear masks and gloves; hand sanitizer at all purchasing stations; they provide masks and gloves for customers; we brought our own tape measure, but they do supply tape measures and there is a bin for sanitized ones Cons: we've been here pre-COVID and while some aisles have more space, others are still pretty packed, making it hard to maintain a 6 foot distance; I miss the donuts and coffee (I know... After visiting City Liquidators we ended up with two oversized club chairs, two counter height chairs, and a bar cart that wasn't on our list. I can't help but love this place. Cheap, new furniture, and tons of it. Your pretty much guaranteed to find something you love in the middle of a bunch of crap you hate. Today, it was a couch. Last time, it was a tall bar table and some stools. Hopefully next time it will be a round dining table because well, that's what I want. They hold items you've purchased for 90 days, which gives you plenty of time to find a way to schlep it home. Delivery fees aren't too bad either. Most of the stuff is the same price or cheaper than IKEA, and much better quality. Give this place a chance! But save yourself the struggle and don't try and haggle; they don't go for that.
