Flexsteel would only increase the leg height of the ottoman (already legs higher than the loveseat) to remedy the situation even though it was an unacceptable solution. Much like every other recent retail experience I have had, what was available was what people could make the most money from; but it seemed no matter how much we were willing to spend, nothing was a good fit. So on a whim we dropped into Main Street Trader, very much an old-school Vancouver establishment, not expecting to find anything that fit our modern aesthetic. And there it was: the Whittier Wood Addison Chest. Unlike vintage stuff, it doesn't suck to use every day. Unlike most high-end modern stuff, it wasn't designed for aesthetics first, function second. Promises to "have somebody call you" have been made but not kept, after telling my MIL that they couldn't even find record of the sale. Kind of hard to believe, especially because this dresser is one of their "specialty pieces" and very unique (she showed them pictures). So disheartening. We fixed the dresser ourselves, after waiting a month for them to make things right. I will likely never buy anything from them again and hope my new sectional lasts longer than the dresser did.

Feeling welcomed is very important.
