This is one of the nicer Home Goods I have been in! I stopped by earlier to browse and buy a Mother's Day gift. I like that they have a good selection of interesting items & home decor. For a good price! Being on the millenial budget, that means that I typically only spend around $50 on gifts. Nothing fancy. My $50 stretched far here! (much better than while shopping at Valley fair Mall). I ended up buying a really pretty Mother's Day pillow, jewelry box, and cute gift bag to place it all in. For a store of knickknacks, HomeGoods/TJ Maxx is pretty organized, albeit a bit cluttered. You may find a treasure if you look hard enough! It shares a huge lot with some popular eateries so it may be challenging to get a spot but if you're willing to walk a bit, check the backside of the mall and you may find some good shaded spots under some trees. This shop is huge and has plenty of new and old inventory ready to be sold at discounted prices. There's a lot to go through but if there's something specific, check out the section of the store that best fits that item. They have clothing, furniture, jewelry, electronics, bathroom essentials, kitchenware, as well as goodies for children and pets. I came here specifically in search of an espresso machine - I've been hoping to find something for a long time now. After perusing the other departments, I headed toward the registers and found what I was looking for! $150 off the list price was quite a bargain in my opinion and was exactly what I was looking for. The high end appliances and items seem to be locked up with magnetic anti-theft devices and this machine was no exception. Happy with my find, I headed through the snaking line toward the registers, which are abundant and managed by staff at the ready to complete the transaction. The staff were friendly, efficient, and not at all too pushy with selling their promotional store credit card which would have yielded more savings on this purchase. The transaction was quick and seamless. With the purchase also refundable, it made it just that much more reassuring to have shopped here. Overall, HomeGoods/TJ Maxx is quite a staple as a bargain store for many communities and this one is no different. The items for purchase is abundant, in good quality, and unique for those looking for some additional accent to add to their living space. Most of the staff are found near the registers with a few occasionally walking through the corridors to restock or organize a bit. It's comfortable shopping here with well ventilated air and sectioned off departments for more intentional buying. They also have a bathroom for patrons to use. For those also looking for home appliances like me, this is a great place to start - one of the few reasons to still shop at brick and mortar shops! read more

I have to say, horrible, horrible customer service. We came to the store and just happened that we liked an item that just happen to be on clearance, we didn't see any tag/price so we asked a sales Rep. He told us. Original price is $100 but since it's on clearance it should be around $80 give or take. About 25 minutes later we arrived at checkout. One of the cashiers first basically called us liars, then told us the Sales Rep had no right to give us any offers and after probably 10-15min called the Manager. When the manager confirmed the item was on Clearance, she still left because now she somehow needed some type tag. Anyways after about an hour we left the store frustrated, annoyed and without any item. Now a place we will be back anytime soon. read more

An update. It has been some time since my last review. We've come back a few more times. I feel like this HomeGoods can be crazy. But then again just avoid this place when it's Christmas time or weekends. The lines are crazy long but they're relatively good about getting a lot of people at the registers. We've bought a couple of swivel lounge chairs, artwork, rugs, etc. aka random goods. As I mentioned in my other reviews. Don't come here expecting to get exactly what you want. Have an idea of an item, if you find it great! Otherwise, you may have to get the next best or nothing at all. It's always a hit or miss but it is a treasure hunt for a bargain. I still feel nervous when they stack a bunch of glassware or glass items haphazardly. I try to avoid those aisles unless I am specifically looking for glass items. I think the long lines is also due to the fact that it's attached to TJMaxx. So you're kind of getting two large stores which means longer lines. I've abandoned items before when I just didn't have the time. Regardless, I do appreciate not having to pay full price, but know that not every item is new or perfect and you can also ask for more discounts if it's not "perfect." I love a good bargain hunt so you'll definitely find me here often...just rarely on weekends. read more

Today I put a hand soap pump and a coral decoration in my cart while browsing other stuff. The cart was just about 5 feet away from me. In just 1 minute someone took my cart and the stuff I already picked up in my cart away. I don't know whether it's an extremely hard working staff who just wants to clean up things when customers are still shopping, or an extremely lazy customer who doesn't even bother to take his or her own cart. HomeGoods in Fremont is a common destination for my wife and I anytime we need goodies for our home. The store is generally well stocked and for the most part we are able to find what we are looking for. You can almost find anything home related. Tj Maxx is connected to the store if you need clothing. The pricing is very fair for high quality items. On our most recent trip, we needed rugs for our new dining set and kitchen. The associates are very nice and helpful. I took one star off because of the checkout line. I believe having more cashiers on a Holiday weekend would have been better. The line was very long hence a lot of people in a small area which is not great during Covid. read more

This HG is far from my home, but for some odd reason, I find a lot of goodies at this store, definitely more than the one in San Carlos. Granted, I don't really buy BIG items from here. I've come for random food items, cabinets/shelving, kitchenware, greeting cards. Can't vouch for bedding and carpets and lights. My friend and I find decent makeup storage here. Different styles, different time. Hers was a wooden storage that opens up like a dresser. Mine was a tiered metal/plastic storage without a mirror. Both of us found it when we didn't come in purposely finding it. Who knows, you'll probably be finding things you didn't think you'll need. That's like Target, you don't go there to find what you need, you go there to let HG tell you what you need. For food/snacks, I found Honey Stinger Waffles for under $15. They go for about $20 a box on Amazon. Nothing else stood out as much. It's really up to your luck in terms of their inventory, can't guarantee you that there will be a box of it waiting for you. read more

The best part of this place is listening to shoppers (mostly women) scream: "OMG look at that!!!" and then another screaming... "I love that!!!" Then there was this couple who carried on and on about a lamp... I then saw a guy doing the same thing and I wasn't sure if he was serious or not in his enthusiasm. I don't really get this store or the people who come here or love it that much. Nothing really makes sense here. Things have a very high price and quality is just so-so. Some decent stuff from Broyhill is mixed in but its just an odd this or that. I suppose people like that sort of look these days... One nightstand in this size and color and another in something totally different. Same with dining room table sets. There are a bunch of chairs. Sometimes - if the stars are all aligned - you might find 4 matching ones... but for me it just creates a problem: what kind of a table do you match it with? I'm all for creativity but I place function at a higher value. At my church coffee shop, for example, Cafe 4 in Castro Valley, one of these creative types went ahead and did a poo poo platter of mixing different tables and chairs. The result is annoying: on certain table sets one sits with ones chin on the table. I think the table and chair buyer didn't measure precisely in the first place and then given you sink into the chair another 3 inches it makes a small problem worse. I did end up purchasing one odd nightstand or end table here because it was functionally exactly what I wanted. It has a trick feature and the size is what I was looking for as well as storage. I did pay $142 after tax and the rear of it is made of cardboard but oh well... the economy is great and people are spending like money has gone outta style. Some of that rubbed off on me I guess. There is this furniture store in Pleasanton going out of business. There is a formal dining room table there that fits most of my requirements for a table and chair set for a formal dining room: comfortable seats, water proof table top (not wood), fabric on the seats at the minimum, compliment a Chesterfield and counter height so I can use the table as a standing work space if need be. It was I think $1500 marked down to $1000. Can't help but think that if I had the imagination I could find something here for about $600 total. I guess I just don't trust myself to put something together here. I know a friend tried to match a table and chair set for his eat in kitchen but I don't think he pulled it off either. He let price determine the used table off Craigslist and its far too large for his small house and then he put these see through chairs around it to off set the heavy duty wood table. It doesn't look good as a formal dining room set nor does it look right for an eat in kitchen. Wish me luck on my dining room table. I think I will go the safe route and get the one from the furniture store going out of business next to the new Trader Joes in Pleasanton. read more

I truly enjoy coming here. So many unusual stuff to look at and such a joy to shop. This place is my retail therapy. Parking is plentiful, many selections and variety of stuff to buy from indoors to outdoors. They have seasonal items and when they go on clearance, it's unbeatable. My take back for you is to monitor the checkout line, you don't want to stand in line during rush hour when you can still be shopping. Or come when they open cuz I tell ya, that line can be long and forever. And when they have a customer complaint or an employee has difficulty in that line, all the employees migrate to see if they can help. Then the line gets longer and the wait gets worst. That's when you look at your cart and contemplate whether it's worth the wait. It's worth the wait for me as I've already anticipated my time. Love this place. The best sentence that I could use to sum up this HomeGoods would be, "It's a victim of its own success." By that I mean, this location is so popular (probably because there aren't many other locations nearby), that it is just way too busy. This HomeGoods usually has all of the kitchen knick knacks that I'm looking for, whether it's a new baking sheet or rolling pin. It's just the checkout line that is seriously crazy. I've come on the weekend when the line has nearly extended all of the way to the TJ Maxx side of the store. There have been times when I've found what I'm looking for, but glanced at the line and just gave up. I am a patient person, but I'd rather go to Target or buy something online rather than have to wait in a super long line. Maybe with the coming holiday season (when more temporary workers are typically hired), this won't be as bad of a problem anymore. The HOMEGOOD store is good, regular homegood size( I used to go to the one in san carlos ,now no need to drive over). Very impressive with their christmas decoration. I uploaded 7 photos of Xmas stuff. Very clean, staffs are friendly, highly recommend to shop there. I did bought a nutcraker (18 inches tall) for around $24 + tax. Has a lot of cute stationary stuffs too(like journals for gifts). I just don't have enough time to look more detail. Will be back again. read more

Homegoods is like a playground for millennials. I mean, long ago, I never expected to get giddy over different types of cool furniture. Nor have I ever seen two middle-aged adults fight it out over area rugs. That happens here. Shopping here reminds me somewhat of Macy's outlets (I have them to thank for my two leather chairs) but the merchandise is in pretty-much new condition. My favorite part of shopping at TJ Max and Ross was the home area--those few aisles with unique things for your kitchen and home. The concept of Homegoods expands on that. I'll likely be returning often now that I have a bigger space to fill. There are not a million Homegoods stores around, but if you get the chance definitely stop into one for some good (and not so good) deals! read more

I dislike stores like this immensely. Ross, Marhsalls, HomeGoods etc might as well all be the same store. I can't stand the clutter and picked-over appearance that stores like this tend to have. I can understand the need to save a few bucks on random knickknacks like kitchen utensils, floor rugs, chairs and lamps, but HomeGoods is to furniture what the Island of Misfit Toys was to toys. Everything here seems like it was rejected and unwanted, so it was shipped here at a cut rate price. I can see the potential here, but the lack of organization really gets to me. We were specifically looking for a paper towel holder for the kitchen, and while the ones we found were acceptable, they were also bent. Great deals if you don't mind things that have slight defects or were too ugly to move off the shelves elsewhere. A frugal shopper with patience can probably dig through the rubble and find a few diamonds in the rough. Me? I'd rather spend a dollar or two more to find something that doesn't appear damaged or rejected. read more

I needed to kill some time while having my car serviced at the adjacent Auto Mall, and HomeGoods fit the bill. It's like an upscale flea market focusing on inexpensive items for the home. I started to aimlessly wander around, trying to get a sense of purpose to this place. Its haphazard layout changes quickly from strictly functional items such as lamps, pots and pans to trinkets like giant forks and ceramic roosters. I spent more than an hour there, and decided my place doesn't need to accumulate any more random stuff. This is a brand new HomeGoods here in Fremont, in the Pacific Commons Shopping Center. It is also, connected with TJ Maxx, who moved here from Newark, CA! I went here today, and boy all I can say is it was PACKED full of people trying to find such great decent bargains! Service & Checkout: The workers are very friendly and outgoing here, and the checkout line wasn't that long of a wait either. Parking: Parking here can be difficult to find because of the many different stores and little shops here inside the Pacific Commons. The other main store in the shopping center, is JoAnn's Fabrics. Meaning you may not find a parking spot right away, you may have to search for a parking spot somewhere not in front of the store. Shopping Carts: A tip on the shopping carts, if there is a shopping cart near where you parked or on the way to the store from where you parked, I highly recommend you bring it with you to the store, because when you get to the store, you'll probably notice there are no shopping carts left! What's interesting is that tthere's no physical separation (no walls) between HomeGoods and TJMaxx...same cashiers. The two sides are polar opposites of each other. The clothing side (TJMaxx) was exceptionally tidy and organized, where you'll feel comfortable to peruse at your leisure. HomeGoods side made me anxious with merchandise strewn haphazardly on shelves and floors that you cannot even tell if some of the stuff were broken or in good condition since they've toppled over into awkward angles. Looks like the Tasmanian Devil struck or some sort of tornado. I walked carefully though the aisles so as not to knock over any of their fragile items. In the end, I didn't end up buying anything from that side of the store because of the chaos. read more

This HomeGoods location has amazing selection!! I used to go to the San Carlos HomeGoods which felt a lot smaller, selection also wasn't as great. When I went to this HomeGoods I was planning on just browsing and ended up leaving with a cart full of items including a ginormous industrial look type of mirror. I'm never shopping anywhere else for small home Knick knacks and decor. HomeGoods prices are super affordable and are good quality. It beats paying full price elsewhere. Lines are really long and the aisle where you wait in line is filled with random items that you'll want to take home. I ended up adding this cute vintage looking wooden box to my cart because it was strategically placed in the checkout line aisle. I nearly added another water bottle and fake plant but my friends were there to help me exercise restraint. Highly recommend this HomeGoods location! read more

I used to love this homegoods! Moved out the area and actually started working for this awesome company. Well not all stores are created equal. Today we visited with family and on the way home we decided to stop by to see what goods this store had. For the most part they have a good selection of stuff. It is holiday season so I understand the mess. What I do not understand is the VERY rude and unpleasant employees. For example we waiting in line, about 15 min, normal wait, totally get it, and the employee by the name of Sashi was very rude and had a tone in her voice that was very degrading and made me feel not valued as a customer. Even as a current employee I felt like this and as a normal customer I would have felt even worse. I will follow this with their online survey for customer service. Do yourself a favor and make sure you fill it out as well if you have any bad or good experiences here. From previous reviews looks like customer service here is lacking. read more

Come here for your everyday needs! We just moved in to a new home and needed new plates, utensils, ottoman, the whole nine years. I think I went to 2 other Homegoods but came back to this one because it was one of the bigger ones around the area and had everything we needed. I used to love this store but the customer service has gotten so pitiful lately. I went this morning upon opening to purchase a large high priced rug for our newly purchased home. When I saw an employee walk right by me I asked if she would be able to help me with the rugs she just turned and said "get someone else" and proceeded to walk off!!! Seriously?
