What a great huge nursery to have in Fremont! The workers were so nice and the selection is some of the best I've seen! They even had plants on my wishlist that I've never seen. Prices are very reasonable! My only complaint is some of the outdoor plants weren't in great shape. I actually asked for a discount because one of the plants I bought was in rough shape and looked like it hadn't been watered in ages. The worst service!!! Went there looking for a plants to grow as a shrub. The lady directed my outside to a guy buy there stairs. Asked him if he could answer a question? He said "NO" he's too busy. Must be new owners...:or new staff...this guy was a complete .......hole. It's ok because I took my business down the street and spent 4,300 at another nursery that has the time. The Regan is the wind beneath my wings during gardening season. I love coming in the morning before it gets too hot as this is an outdoor nursery. It is a sight to be seen during rose season. A little slice of color and joy in between Fremont and Union city. I never knew roses could smell as good as they do until coming here. Particularly love the rose arches that greet you in the front. As an intermediate gardener I have shifted to buying more seeds than plants. The Regan offers a great selection of rare seeds you can't find at big box stores. When I do splurge on plants I like to do so at the Regan because they will last year after year. The workers are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always happy to give advice. I needed a pick-me-up and also needed to buy plants for gifts. This place is huge. Saturday afternoon and parking is full. You can't park outside so you'll have to wait for parking spot to open up. So many roses to choose from. Not cheap but quality is good. The flowers definitely got my mood better. They a bunch of indoor plants at the register area. Been coming to this plant nursery since my kids were little. Fast forward 22 years and 3 houses since, this place has become a zen place for me to pick up beautiful and healthy plants. From rose trees, rare plants (like veriegated Calamansi, Veirgated citrus Kumquat, Chilean Guava plants) and many others. My recent purchase are couple of small indoor plants, a beautiful glazed pot, and a giant Talavera glazed orange pumpkin to add to my garden collection. To date, I have 4 large Talavera clay pumpkins for my garden & counting. What lacks to other plant nursery stores on personal knowledge about their product, this place is the opposite. Staffs are always friendly, knows so much about plant care, and always willing to answer your questions about your purchase. Did I mention, beautiful glazed plant pots of all sorts of sizes (including Talavera pots), myriad collections of healthy Japanese Maple plants & trees, and different plant soils/ substrate are also available. As a Fremont native, I definitely did not realize how lucky I was to live so close to the best nursery for roses! As an adult, I am so happy I still love close by so we can spruce up our yard with all of the beautiful roses at Regan's nursery. They have stem, bush and landscape rose varieties and all different types of varieties and colors. The names are fun as well....Twilight Zone, Henry Fonda, the list goes on! They also have wonderful staff that know the roses. Not just at a high level. We asked about white roses and the awesome gentleman that helped us (wish I caught his name) probed with a few questions on what we were looking for and provided us quite a few options to meet our needs. His eyes lit up when describing the varieties he enjoyed and he made the experience much more memorable. They also have Japanese maples, citrus trees and all kinds of plants to meet your indoor and outdoor needs. They also have wagon type carts you can wheel around and use to keep track of all your new plants. Bonus- they have great descriptions of the different roses online. If you are looking for roses, research online and then come to Regan's and have one of the awesome employees walk you on a guided tour of all the varieties they have to offer. This is my first time at this beautiful nursery. They have so many roses!!! And a lot of other plants. I didn't know there were so many different colors, scents, and variety of roses!!! This nursery dedicates half their land with roses!!! All sorted out in different categories. Greg helped us and he was so knowledgeable! He was running around trying to help 5 different customers, yet he still maintained friendly and patient. We had a few questions, and he managed to juggle all the customers swiftly and professionally. He would find us after a minute knowing exactly where we left off. Greg also made great recommendations. I was only looking for certain colors, but he knew so much more. He told us which roses were sweet smelling, heartier, nicely shaped, etc. He also gave us some quick tips such as how often to water them (everyday), where to clip roses so the next bud grows in the right direction, and how to prune them on the off season. If you're looking for roses (or any kind of plants), come here! You'll get a better plant selection, more knowledgeable clerks, and decent prices. read more

My kiddo and I were in the neighborhood and came by to check their inventory. We pulled up and it was already busy with cars looking around for parking. I found a spot and while I parked I saw a sign that read "no children". I thought I read it wrong so I parked and went to go read the sign. Sure enough it said no children under 16 years of age. I was pretty disappointed and frustrated reading this. My kiddo has accompanied me to many of the nurseries across the Bay Area and this is the first time I have come across a "no children" at a nursery sign. While there may be many reasons for "no children" sign (no children running around, keeping 6 feet apart, ensuring plants don't get knocked down, holding parents responsible to ensure their children are not making ruckus) it was an unwelcoming sign. For a kiddo who has their own private collection of plant babies and enjoys gardening being unable to enter this nursery was very upsetting. Since where not from the area and my kiddo couldn't come in we had to leave. I was very disappointed driving away from this place. If decide to return I will have to come alone. read more

Walking around is super relaxing to take your time, peruse and easily leave with $$$ worth of plants. Best time to visit are the weekdays so you're not rushed, bumping into people and to ask staff questions. Highly recommend visiting this nursery for those unique plants. So we've been here more than a handful of times and I love that they have a good selection of flowers, trees, fruit trees, veggie and fruit plants. I love the tropical plants especially. They are pretty healthy what they sell. During this Covid pandemic, the staff were masks and some wear gloves. They limit how many cars or people per car that can come in. They even limit the hours of operation so there is always a line outside this place. There was still a lot of people when we came on a Friday early afternoon. Parking spaces are tight so be careful with your car doors. The staff are pretty cool. I think why I rate them four stars or more 3.5 stars are their prices. The prices of their plants, trees or flower plants are pretty steep. For example, the avocado tree at Home Depot is $29.99 and at Regans , it is $59.99-$69.99!! My eyeballs totally popped seeing that! It's great they had at least 8 different types of avocado trees but wow, the prices! Some things are decently priced but I will always come by Regan to see what is available or in season or advice of a care of a plant or tree. [54/100] read more

Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. The parking lot was full, but there's someone at the entrance directing the parking situation. We only waited about 5 minutes to get a parking spot and it was worth the wait! This place has the largest rose selection of any nursery I've been to. In fact, they have a large selection of just about everything... roses, vegetables, trees, bushes, succulents, shade plants, grasses, indoor plants, etc. I could have spent hours here. Their prices are a bit higher than places like Home Depot, but for the selection, I think it's worth it. The staff here is really friendly and helpful too. Dropped by this nursery in the early morning right when they opened to avoid any crowds during the Covid hours. I understand the fuss with not allowing kids- sucks for the single parents who don't have child care when they wanna visit but it's tight aisles and close proximities for strollers and such. I can imagine some kids just running around and tripping over the hoses and such. Just their take on being more cautious and their right as a small business. Lots of space, great plants, trees and flowers. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great variety of Japanese maples- decent pricing but can expect more $ for fancier maples. They had a great variety of fruit plants and other things. Definitely a great space to come if you know what you want or just want to browse around! OMG, how cute is this place? I always forget about this nursury as it's right by the freeway and tend to miss it. Thanks to Yelp I was able to locate this place in no time with their current hours. This is a much larger nursery compared to most. They have just about every type of flower, plant, tree you can think of. My specific find was to look for succulents but their collection was about 2 tables big but none were small enough to fit in my small cute vases and glasses at home. But I must say... still was nice to walk around and see all the other plants they had on hand. DEF was happy I got to finally check this place out and will make sure to keep them in mind the next time I go looking for some cute plants! read more

Their plants are reasonably priced. The staff there work extremely hard in the hottest day in summer to water the plant manually and greet the customers. They need to offer someone out front to help load soil rather than a guy who sits at a table and points to various places across a couple acres and doesn't offer to get up and show you anything personally or to help an aging couple load very heavy items into your car. This is my first time at this beautiful nursery. The nursery is quite big. They have a wide selection of all types of plants one needs for a garden, including : - Flowers - Veggies - Fruits - Succulents - Grapes and Berries - Citrus Trees - Herbs - Perennials - Annuals - Japanese Maples - Shade Plants - Grasses - Indoor Plant - And many more... The rose collection is really huge like Tree Roses, Landscape Roses, Hybrid Musk Roses, Climbing Roses and many more. I also saw a huge collection of "California-friendly" plants. People were buying this plans a lot. These plants are California native and so beautiful. They can easily adapt the local environment and very low-maintenance. The Fruit tree they are selling is quite mature and You can literally see some fruits on it and some trees are blooming for fruits. The Yellow Newton Pippin Apples caught my eye. Avocado trees are good in size. The Peach tree is huge too. The Pink lemonade Blueberry is properly trailing up on the trail. They also have a separate Herbs section. You will find almost all herbs here. The Japanese maples section is looking so good and green. Their selection of succulents and house plants are amazing and rightfully priced. They have Plants from different countries like, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand etc. Each and every sections are properly organized and very well maintained. The pathway to walk is pretty clean. The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable about all the plants they have. This is the best nursery I have visited in the Bay area! They are also selling Pots, Soil, Fertilizer, Decorative Trails and Cages. Pots are different size from small to huge. Tomato cages are really good quality. The Regan Nursery staff actually take care of their plants so they look healthy! The only thing is, Their prices are a bit higher than places like Lowes, Home Depot, Costco, but they have huge collection in each section so I think it's worth it. Perfect review since it's Earth Day 2019 today! Due to some crazy hurricane force winds, a portion of the lattice section of my backyard fence was blown away. I was contemplating my options and decided to cover this section with a natural fence. After considering various trees, bougainvillea, and climbing vines, I found out that there was something called a climbing rose. I'm not too familiar with roses except that they are hella' overpriced during Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. So as I looked into the climbing roses, I found that they are great climbers and many are disease and pest resident. Initially, I went to my neighborhood big box stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot. However, they only carried the bush and shrub-type roses that do not grow that tall. So I did a Yelp search for climbing roses and voila, Regan Nursery in Fremont came up. I just so happened to have an appointment in Fremont so afterwards I made a straight beeline to Regan Nursery. As I pulled into the nursery, I was met with many other bees lured by the sweet aroma of row after row of roses. Honestly, Regan Nursery is the best nursery for roses in Northern California. They have EVERY ROSE. Even blue ones, so suck it violets, SUCK IT! The climbing roses were in the rear of the nursery. Being a rose noOb, I had to get some help. That's where I found Marcus who was super helpful. We talked about how the soil in my neighborhood has some clayey soil and how to plant roses in clayey soil. Then, he showed me the popular English climbing roses. What really caught my attention was this newer climbing rose called the Fruity Petals™. The minute Marcus told me the name, I was like yabba dabba doo, did he say Fruity Pebbles? Turns out that the Fruity Petals™ is a trademarked flower bred by rose breeder William Radler of Star Roses. He is famous for breeding the low maintenance Knock Out® Rose. Honestly, I never knew that there was this whole other world of roses. So now I just have to give my Fruity Petals™, which I've named "Dino", some water, fertilizer, pruning, and love so that it can grow and cover up the void in my fence. Bees, hummingbirds, and ladybugs are always welcome. Aphids and mites, can go suck a thorn. Anyways, Regan Nursery really is the Rose Capital of Northern California. This is a great Nursery in general with fine plants and products and the largest selection of roses I've ever seen. Their offerings are well organized with clear signage that makes it easy to walk around and browse and find what you're looking for. There is a covered section for shade and partial-shade plants all of which look to be in beautiful condition, including some unusual varieties. We picked up a gorgeous 5-foot tall deep-maroon hibiscus and other items I've not seen at other nurseries. Love love love this place. Went for the first time last weekend and was blown away by the selection of roses. I was looking for a place that sold Rock n Roll roses after seeing them at a rose garden in San Diego. Was excited to see they had them as well as several other like hot chocolate and Rosie the riveter. I'm not a rose expert, but I know they have most, if not all varieties of roses such as Climbing Roses, English Roses, Floribunda Roses And Grandiflora Roses. While the roses are real show stoppers I was also impressed with their selection of citrus plants. I'm definitely going back for some on the next trip. read more

If you're looking for fruit trees or roses, Regan is definitely where you should go. They have each area labeled so you can easily find the section you need. I didn't realize how many variations of trees and plants were out there until coming here. They also have peonies, Japanese bonsai and many other plants not found at all nurseries. I was looking at their kumquat trees because of the new year and they were competitively priced. If you want smaller versions of the fruit and citrus trees, go all the way to the back of rose and citrus tree area to a greenhouse. If you are looking for vegetables though, I suggest going elsewhere. It could be because of the season but they only had a small selection. They have their own parking lot so parking was easy which was a plus. When we went on a Sunday afternoon, there were quite a few people wandering around so this is a nursery that people definitely frequent. read more
