Talk about a Gem!! I can't even keep fake plants alive so I was hesitant in going, but since we're in this pandemic why not try again. What an amazing place. Explained my situation and they recommended plants that are low maintenance to start with. From there was given additional care/tips on some other plants as well. My babies are doing great! Can't wait to go back and see what other new babies I can bring home!

Found this store on the East Bay while driving home. Great selection of house plants, including some cute, small specimens for terrariums. The owner Mia had a lot of secret gems - rare plants in great condition. I also bought the substrate mix, which was great for drainage and my terrariums. I could tell the owner and her assistant had lots of passion for the plant hobby!

If your plants are in need of love or rejuvenation or you don't have the knowledge or time on the best way to repot them, Mia and her staff at Plant Terra will love on your plants and care for them so well you won't even recognize them when you get them back! Very knowledgeable and her love for plants is palpable!

My advice would be to do some research online or shop around locally before coming here so you have an idea of what the plants you like should cost. I visited during a 25% off sale, which brought their prices closer, but still not down to the average pricing of other local plant shops. Because of COVID restrictions, only 2-3 customers are allowed in at a time. Although it would seem like a private plant shopping experience would be lovely, you are constantly reminded that there is a line of people waiting outside for you to finish. I was there for a very specific plant that they did not have in store at the time, but the owner kept pressuring me to put a down payment on a plant that I'd never even seen yet because she said it would be available next week. After I declined, she thoughtfully asked her associate to go to the back to see if she could put together the plant so I could take it home that day. However, when the associate came back with the plant, it was a tiny thing that they wanted to charge me 3x the going price for. I asked if they had a fuller plant, and they said this was the best they could do and if I wanted a fuller plant, it would be at an even higher price. By the way, this, as well as several other "rare" plants were we excluded from their 25% off everything sale. Red flag! It seems like their pricing is arbitrary. I ended up finding a plant that was tucked away on a bottom shelf, which for some reason was larger, yet priced lower than the same plant (but smaller) on a higher shelf. I felt bad for being in the store for so long to walk away empty handed, so I bought the bottom shelf plant since the discount would bring it down close to the average cost. There are many other plants stores nearby that have better selection and better pricing. The owner did say that their prices are higher because they source their plants from high end growers. So, do your research and decide for yourself if you would like to pay that premium.

Amazing service, great energy. Super knowledgeable and such a kind person. Thank you for the amazing plants.

Visiting Plant Terra, I was inspired by their selection of indoor plants, pots, and creativity! Mia (Maria) was behind the creative energy I experienced today! Not only was she knowledgable about every plant I was interested in, but expanded my imagination on how each plant can be arranged in pots and stands. The mature Hoya Krimson Princess was extraordinary & just too beautiful to pass up! I added Hoyas (Krimson Pink Princess & Hindu Rope), Air plants and Clusia (new indoor plant I just learned about today) to my growing plant collection! Mia helped me find pots & gave me helpful care tips to set my plants up for success & growth. Truly grateful for her expertise, patience, & this lovely experience at her shop! My mom has been ill for the last few years, so surrounding her with these new plants raised her spirits. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Hayward.

Excellent customer service!!! Millie the owner is amazing and accommodated me and my 4 year old son who has sensory problems and will not wear a mask. After a terrible experience with a previous plant shop, I called Plant Terra and explained the situation and she was more than accommodating and understanding. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion Millie! I appreciate people like you during these tough times! -- I walked out with a beautiful healthy fiddle tree & a happy 4 year old with his new baby plant. We are both happy customers and will be returning again soon.

Had an amazing experience today! The owner (?) was super patient with my questions and helped me find a lovely tree for my office. They also offered repotting (who does this??) which I gladly paid for - because let's be honest, repotting the big guys isn't fun! I also had my two year old son with us and the sales lady brought out a plant for him to touch and was super sweet with him - thank you for that. They helped load the tree into my car and everything was packaged perfectly, we didn't lose one leaf on our 1-hr drive home! Regarding the complaints on pricing - can you find plants cheaper somewhere else? Sure. Will they be healthy, pest free and full of new growth? Probably not. I've gone to quite a few plant shops in the bay area, and Plant Terra has some of the BEST customer service I've encountered. I'll pay an extra few bucks for happy, healthy plants any day! Thank you for the wonderful Saturday afternoon Plant Terra.

Cute little shop..m great Variety of different types of plants But way over priced. When I inquired about a plant, the Associate told me about the price. I told her it was too expensive for me, I wanna say the owner tried to convince me other wise and seem to have attitude that I didn't want to spend that kind of money. I did end up buying two smaller plants that were very expensive but cute.... The associate was very friendly and Informative.

The tiny fern and the hanging plant are new additions to my corner

I like this little store I just recently discovered it through a friend. I got off early from work yesterday just to come see it! I will agree with some of these reviews that it is indeed pricey which is why they lose a star BUT there isn't a store like this as close is this one is to me so I'm grateful. Every plant in the store looks very happy and healthy, they have a good selection on pots. I purchased a golden pothos and a "Mini Russels" fern. It would be nice if some of them were labeled, I like to research my plants, because you don't just buy plants that you want, you get the plant that fits your place/environment, I also got a small humidifier that's adorable and perfect for my little corner. I do have an expectation that individuals working in such a small store to be especially knowledgeable on all plants and pricing. Just something to keep in mind. Overall great experience

Cute new store dedicated to selling house plants! I kind of had a hard time trying to find the store at first because it is located in a industrial business park. I totally missed the sign that pointed to the direction the store was located at haha! Cool thing about the location is that I didn't have to worry about parking since there was so many! Before going in, they require you to sanitize your hands. When I first stepped inside, I was very pleased to see all the different variety of plants that were sold. A majority of them were beautiful and very well taken care of. Most of the sizes they sold ranged from about 2 inches to 6 inches. I think the biggest plants I saw was a monstera deliciosa and a rubber tree. They also offer decorative pots and plant cleaner for you to give your plant babies a little TLC. Don't expect these plants to be cheap because they aren't, hence why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Some of their 2 inch plants are about $6 -- there were about 2 leaves growing from what I can recall. Pretty pricey but it's all up to you on how you want to invest on your house plants. I'm all about supporting local business, so I don't mind spending the money. Aside from the beautiful plants, the 2 nice employees helped sell the plants to me. They were super nice and informative about everything. They enjoyed striking up a conversation to all their customers that came in. I totally recommend checking this place out if you are looking for great variety in house plants. Just expect to spend A LOT.

Found the most beautiful house plant at the Castro Valley shop! Owner was so friendly and helpful. I've been looking for wonderful houseplants for ever now, this is the first place I have found with a beautiful selection of healthy plants. I look forward to purchasing a few more for our home!

My plant I bought a year ago did so well I came back to buy another. I had considered going to closer nurseries, but I didn't see any hanging plants. There were also some blood red fuchsias calling to me and I might got back for those. While looking around, I saw lots of plants labeled as deer-resistant which is apt for the area. They have more interesting varieties than you normally find at Home Depot. They also have lots of plants for landscaping and other bigger plants like roses, etc. There were customers consulting with workers for landscaping projects. The workers were friendly. No one asked me if I needed help which I appreciated - I'm an independent woman and if I need help I know how to ask for it. But they were around doing work. The indoor store portion has a variety of items. Last time I got preying mantises (which hatched) and lady bugs (which flew away after a few hours). There are also indoor house plants and gift-like items if you're shopping for a plant person. I also like that this is in a shopping complex where I can do other things - I got food for my dog from Petco and ordered papusas from the El Salvadorean taco place on the corner.
