I bought some plates that came in a box and when I got home one was broken - I came back to exchange them and after the staff could not help me, I asked to see their manager - Rochelle was absolutely FABULOUS!!! She understood what I was asking, was quick to move to make the decision to correct the issue (as I wanted to still keep the plates and all I wanted was credit for the broken one and a new plate that was not broken) and she did all this without any attitude and a smile!! I WALKED OUT OF THERE EXTREMELY PLEASED AND HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND WITH ALL MY NEW PLATES!!!! I've been going to this Home Goods for a few years. They seem to get a very large stock of goods and of course lots of seasonal decor and fun stuff. This store is jam-packed and it takes a strong will to only stick to your shopping list. There is definitely an element of treasure hunting and I will absolutely assume a catcher's position to see what's on the bottom/back shelf. Lately they've had some great Le Creuset items (ceramic bakeware) that I've gotten as gifts and for my own kitchen at about half off of listed prices. They have it all for your home- cooking implements, textiles, bedding, storage solutions, furniture, decor, pet items, novelties, lamps, art, rugs, even food. While they have a lot of mass merchandised items, they do stock on occasion department store brands- Viking, All Clad, Calphalon, British and Japanese pottery, Emille Henry, Mikasa, Dansk, etc. I've snagged some great Ralph Lauren sheets here. Keep your eyes open and you will find some great deals. You definitely would be surprised how they restock and fill in areas from day to day. It's a quick look if you're in the neighborhood and might be worth your while. You may need to wait a bit in line but it's worth it. Came here just to browse around after shopping at Trader Joe's, and as usual left with something for the house (this time the kitchen)! This place is just as addicting as Costco, but at a smaller scale. Name brand Housewares, kitchenware, kitchen snacks, outdoor furniture/decor; pretty much items to spruce up any room in your house, including any and all holidays. Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods are all the same company, just different product offerings that are usually dated or last ones from full priced retailers. They even have items for your fur babies! Deal of the day for me was the Bentgo glass storage ware. I remember the plastic ones from rubbermade and other brands that melted slightly if heated too long in the microwave or was stained by acidic foods. Now, Bentigo has come on strong in the food storage market. Glass, leak proof, odor and stain resistant and BPA free. Prices varied depending on size and package configuration, but pricing was about 40% cheaper than other retailers! Bonus was service we got from Katia...friendly, patient and communicative (rare in the service industry these days). I love going to Homegoods to look random things for my home. I've purchased reasonably priced pots, pans, seasonal decor, kitchen gadgets, dishware, containers for our kitchen counter, dry goods containers, pet toys, and so on. Prices are usually decent but you still need to do your research. If I see something I really like, I don't hesitate to buy it because chances are good that I wont find it again on my next visit. Since they have a 30-day return policy, I make sure to make returns on a timely basis if I change my mind. I can't count the many,many times I shop at this location when I am in town. I have many pics of items I've purchased, (receipts).and ones that I thought were cute. Yelp HQ yanked my review because of the Yelp troll saying I didn't explain in detail about my experience??.. With home prices holding steady, my wife and I do not plan on making any moves anytime soon. Therefore, we are always looking for little items that will spruce up our home and make it feel new. Since Bed Bath and Beyond has sadly gone out of business (wiping my tears), HomeGoods has been our store for everything from bedding to kitchenware (occasionally I'll pick up some gourmet snacks if I'm feeling naughty). Also, I'm slightly biased because 20 years ago a 20 year old me assisted in setting up and opening this store (fun fact)...time has wings! I love this store for the variety of items that you can find on any given day at pretty reasonable prices. Also, a majority of their items just so happen to match the earth tone themes of our home. However, I have two beefs with this store...the lack of organization and customer service. I don't understand how a store with so many employees on the floor can be so disorganized. On multiple occasions I have walked into an aisle with merchandise either on the floor or nearly falling off of shelves. Unless you're able to flag down an employee, they generally do not stop to check in with you and see if you need help. However, I understand that the retail workforce never quite recovered from the pandemic, but I do hope that this store is able to get it together (there are only so many of these kind of stores left). If you're looking for modern home furnishings at a decent price, I recommend paying this location a visit! read more

I like to browse the aisles. Sometimes hidden treasure is found-clearance sections, cooking gadgets, home decor. This visit I planned to return an item I thought was missing pieces (purchased at another Home Goods) but I received the Best customer service! The cashier said there were others complaining the same and he then proceeded to cut the plastic ties to further check for 'missing' pieces and voila, there they were. He then offered to put the unit together. Of course I said yes please. This staffer made my day and I wish I caught his name (asian guy). I have found myself shopping at here a few times this past month - I've remodeled my home and needed new decor. I'm happy to update my review with positive comments. Their selections seem to be much more abundant. I was able to find plenty of options amongst the shower curtains, rugs, towels, wall decor, kitchen supplies, etc. The reason for the 3 stars is because of their customer service. On both my visits the store was pretty busy. There were atleast 5 people behind me in line with 3 in front and the line just continued to get longer...because they only had 2 registers open! I waited in line for over 20 minutes only to move up in place once and for the line size to triple. It took another 5 mins for someone to call for back up. Seems ridiculous to have several workers restocking or redesigning the floor when you have 15 people in line with 2 cashiers... read more

I went there today and found some items. I needed two items that were exactly the same. However, one of them broke and didn't have a tag. Because it was wood, I figure I can just glue it. There were a few items that I had, one set of 6 candles out of the 6, there was one missing, and the another broke. I asked Leyla, who was the cashier, that I had a question? she answered "wassup" At first thought to myself, "ok wassup!" I asked how much the candle would cost if there's one missing? She went to check and came back, said it was $8.00. I told her ill get it. I then ask her I got two items, however the other broke and didn't have a price tag she had a nasty attitude and answered very rudely "you know you're only getting 10% off do you still want it? I didn't mind. I would have gotten the other item, but her rudely customer service just was just unexpected and unacceptable. There was another item I wanted. One didn't have a price tag, but the other did I told her, and she said "thanks" and tossed the bag beside me on the countertop. To Leyla, I'm not sure if you were having a bad morning it was only 9:51am, or you just didn't want to assist me. Whatever the issue you we're having, please understand that your behavior affects your store. Anytime I find a store that specializes in home decor of all shapes and sizes, then my secret interior decorator mind transfers to the forefront of my brain. I love to explore and get ideas that may add interest to my home or garden. I guess I have this HGTV frame of mind, where I'm constantly trying to evolve my living space. HomeGoods has a nice eclectic variety of merchandise through out the store. Some can be a rare or one of a kind item that you may not find anywhere else at a discount price. I always seem to find something every time I visit. They are also a fun source of holiday decor, especially around Halloween and Christmas. Plan to spend a leisurely amount of time here when browsing. There is so much to see when searching for that unique item to spruce up the home. Anything from furniture, art, wall hangings, clocks, nick knacks, housewares, candles, even consumable products. I am a complete HomeGoods whore and find myself getting excited every time I come across one. This particular location though? I really dont find it to be anything special. Its a mess inside this store. It gets super busy and lines are always outrageously long. They might be understaffed. The employees sure dont act like they are grateful that they have a job. No smiles, no greeting. Their inventory isn't as good as other locations I've been to either. In recent years, there has been an woman named Judy on staff. And every time I have the great displeasure of being "taken care of" by her, I feel like I'm some sort of criminal. She questions every one of my returns (receipt included), and is dismissive and burusque when checking me out or when price-checking things from the floor. For reference, I've had other staff taking care of me who are friendly, pleasant, and provide excellent customer service. Judy, on the other hand...she may be an Asian immigrant mother, as she reminds me too much of my own Asian immigrant mother. Which is why my mother is not in customer service here in the States. The service Judy doles out comes off as pushy, rude, and demeaning. And this comes from a person familiar with Asian cultural nuances. Every time I shop there and deal with her, I feel like she unfairly judges me the way some Asian mothers do when they see another Asian: With instant, icy distrust. This HomeGoods store in Elk Grove is one of my favorite stores in Elk Grove. They finally reopen after almost three months of the lockdown due to COVID-19. The store looks the same as before the lockdown. It seems more discounter items than before. They are limited little more than a hundred peoples in the store and have the traffic control employee at the front door for the customers lining up in front of the store. But it only took me about 10 minutes waiting in the line before I can get inside. The store is still nice and clean inside with all the hard-working employees really make this store stand out in Elk Grove. The parking lot is big and very busy. I can't found parking in front of the store all the time. But no problem to found a parking space for a short walk. read more

One of your cashier Leyla needs additional training on customer service and how to handle purchases with care. I was at the store and bought the last 6 Christmas Crackers of similar design, when this cashier, haphazardly placed the items so close to the edge and of course, the item fell on the floor and instead of holding the whole box to pick it up, she grabbed only one corner and ripped the side. She argued that she "accidentally" dropped the box and "unintentionally" ripped the side. No, had she been more careful, that last box would have been in my purchases and the stores sold items. She was abrasive, discourteous and rude in her interactions. If you need proof, you can go over your CCTV if you have any. I started my day in a good mood and obviously changed by an experience with one of your Cashiers. If you can kindly provide her with feedback and maybe additional training as this type of behavior is unacceptable. I have been to this HG location so many times and have never been treated this way. I absolutely love coming to HomeGoods! They have literally everything you need for your home, except the kitchen sink! ;) Clearly I'm exaggerating, but seriously they've got rugs (small & large), wall art, lamps, furniture, plants, even miscellaneous items like gift bags and birthday cards. It's a one stop shop! The items sold here are sure to please any homeowner. HomeGoods is similar to TJMaxx, Ross, and Marshall's - minus the apparel. Everything is marked down to a cheaper price as compared to retail and still in great condition! Whereas at other discounted stores they tend to be slightly damaged or the defect in the products are more noticeable. Every time I enter the store it's always in pristine condition, very organized, clean, and not chaotic. For some reason when we went yesterday everyone wanted to be there, but their employees were all hands on deck opening as many registers to get everyone checked out ASAP! One of favourite store in Elk Grove. They are the equivalent of Home Sense in Canada. Just like the stores in Canada, they sell lots of home stuff at discounts price from retailers. From gift baskets, kitchenware, bathroom organizers, pets toys, kids toys, bedroom decoration. You named it, they have it. I bought the toilet organizer, kitchen towel stand, measuring cups, wooden hangers, and other stuff there. They wooden hangers prices is comparable to Walmart and better quality (trust me, I checked). They did not have plastic hangers. I wish their kitchen section is more organized like the stores in Canada. Their inventory turnover is slower than Canada stores. I waited for days and no good stock pots or steamers options. They kids bedroom and you section is huge! Lots of cool toys I didn't know existed (e.g. the smoking wooden house for the holidays which really produce smoke and made in Europe). They also have brand name plushies (e.g. Gund, Melissa D) One thing to say is, sometimes they only have 1 item, so buy it or you will regret it as it won't be there the next day! Let me start off by saying that I've spent over 15 years in client relations management and that's including frontline retail. My husband and I recently purchased a house in Elk Grove and are in the process of moving here from the Bay Area. Since we have started the move we have been amazed at how "bad" customer service in Elk Grove, seems to be what we consider "decent or good" customer service back home in the SF Bay Area. It seems especially important to point that out because our experience at this Home Goods location was worse than what we would get at home. I came to the store at this location about an hour and half ago. In fact, I would say in the last month since, the start of our move, we have spent well over 2k at just Home Goods. I came because I had a return and I also wanted to purchase some items. I actually have never even returned an item to Tj Maxx or Home Goods before, so I did have a helpful representative explain to me that a return happens at the same time of a purchase or exchange. We end up shopping for more items and one of them was a doggie bed. It was the only one of this size and print but it had quite a bit of dirt all over it. I grabbed it because anyways and I asked a nearby associate if they had another one... she said whatever was out was the last. I asked her about a discount and when she looked at it she immediately said yea just show it to the person at the register when you check out, I'm sure they will discount that. Great, because I don't want to pay full price for something that is not in new condition and has snags on it (I thought this, I didn't say it out loud). When I check out I get a nice enough associate, she wasn't friendly, but not rude either. I have multiple items but when it comes time to ring out the dog bed I ask about a discount because it is super dirty. She looks back and calls to a manager and asks about discounting it. The manager comes up look at the bed and says so you want a discount for that little bit of dirt. It wasn't even in the form of a question, she stated it. I immediately felt surprised that she said that and got annoyed. I mentioned that it wasn't a little bit of dirt, it was a lot. She ignored me and walks away. She ends up asking some associate on radio to check on the item. When she says nothing after a couple of mins I ask the associate what's going on and she calls for the manager who the comes up and looks for the tags. She doesn't engage with me at all and I proceed to upset tell her the item is not a little dirty it's actually dirty on the whole thing. She Ignores me and tells me the associate that they can basically give me 10% off. I said okay and paid but I asked for the managers name, her name is Denise. I honestly felt profiled. I don't think she would have ignored me or looked annoyed about me asking about a discount if I was white. I'm not looking for a handout, I just don't believe you should sell something that is damaged or dirty full price. I shouldn't feel like I am doing something wrong by even pointing that out and I'm surprised that a manager would even respond to any customer like that. I've been to this location multiple times and spent plenty of money here, I've actually had pretty good experiences here up until this point. You shouldn't work in customer service if you are rude, bottom line. I'm also contacting corporate. Horrible experience. read more

Waiting for friends so I decided to stop in Home Goods just to look (bad idea!!!!). Of all the locations I have visited between Sacramento and Placer counties, the Elk Grove store had the largest selection of furniture/furniture accent pieces, and really nice items at that (linen, leather, etc). A good selection of ottomans in different colors, sizes and fabrics that I've yet to see at any other Home Goods store (was recently shopping for an ottoman so it's the first thing I notice these days). I just about got lost in the tea, coffee, honey section; nice variety! I even found two of my favorite blends (chai and Moroccan mint), and picked up several others. On the the candle isle...my happy place. Village and Yankee candles are the best and I was happy to find scents I didn't already have. I've underestimated this Home Goods, tucked in a bedroom community, but already planning a return trip for more candles and tea! read more

Solid store. Friendly employees I go here often and at the same time of day right when they open (to avoid long lines) and I've come to notice a certain group of ladies that get there early. They block the entrance and run in to ransack the Hello Kitty items. They are there every day like clockwork and they leave with tons of hello kitty merch just to resell. Please put a limit on Hello Kitty merchandise!! These women are greedy. Im no Hello Kitty fan but have seen the disappointment in a others because of this..Im almost certain there's an insider employee hiding the merch in a certain area for them because they know exactly where to go...to the back of the store for holiday hello kitty cookie jars/cups/kitchen ware when the cookie jars and holiday kitchen items are in the front of the store...every time they RUN towards the back of the store. If I could give a zero, I would. The clerk and manager denied a return on a single pillow purchase with the receipt that showed we bought $172 worth of items only the day before. They accused us of buying a two pack of pillows and trying to return only one for full price. We drove 10 miles back to our house to get the other pillows and every other item we could return. They suggested they could review their security cameras but needed to wait for their LP to come in on Monday. Innocent and clumsy error on their part leads to loss of customer for life. read more

Do not come to this homegoods location if you care about your safety! I visited this store on Monday 1/18 and was very surprised that they are now allowing over 100 customers into the store, this is not allowed under the current covid-19 purple tier restrictions. The line to checkout was FULL the entire time I was there.
