    Self checkout

It's nice to have Daiso in this neighborhood so I don't have to go to Delta Shores! This Daiso is small, but it has a lot of stuff. They have self checkout but on every occasion since around the time of grand opening, it hasn't been open, so that's a bit of a bummer. Service is generally friendly! Things to note that are the usual for Daiso if you've never shopped here before is that there are no returns. Prices start at $1.75 but can go up from there depending on item size/complexity. You can reference the charts they have all around the store. If an item has a price on it, it's in Japanese Yen, so the charts are helpful for conversion. Note that some things might not be that great of a deal when compared to Dollar Tree, so do your comparisons if that matters to you. They do have novel items, which can account for the small differences in prices between the two discount stores. Happy shopping!

Friendly staff members, very professional, welcoming. Store has a variety of made in china items, gadgets from storage bins, sewing essentials, buckets, cleaning, socks, dog and cat items, frames, cards, notebooks, office supplies, desk top items....I went in for doggie birthday crowns or hats plus a tub for under my bathroom sink. Good prices, clearly marked with pricing. If not marked, lists $1.75 as prices. Clean, neat, super organized, everything in its place. I will have to go back and browse. Quite a few people in and out during my visit.

Wow they are finally open. Their grand opening is Saturday and Sunday. They have the special gift bags on the ground in the front for that. I think you have to spend 30 bucks. They really cram all the stuff in there and the shelves are fully stocked which is great. If you have never been they it will take a while to explore every shelf. Otherwise I didn't really notice anything to new at this location. But I have been to a few stores in the States and in Japan. Lots to see and buy. They were filling the drink section up front when I was in there. This is going to be great to have the store so close to us now. Great

Daiso is best at what they do. Luring you to buy items you really don't need but want! They have the most practical items too if you can decipher what they are bc they are labeled with Japanese kanji sometimes! Know that you really want these items bc they don't do refunds, returns whatsoever. FINAL SALE ONLY! Their usual purchases are 1.75 but they do throw you a curve ball & charge you 4.25. The cashierest will let you know while she's ringing it up! She's doing it so fast like huh? Oh well it's ok. I wanted it despite that higher price. Love that this location is finally in Elk Grove right by Trader Jo's & Home Goods! Such convenience! We can walk here if we wanted to but probably not especially if we buy lots of items! This brand new store was so jammed packed with new items. Plushies galore! Woohoo! Soft opening was today 3.8.23. Actual grand opening is 3.11.23. Come & be ready to shop until you drop! Welcome to Elk Grove Daiso!

Yay! Daiso in Elk Grove! The store is fully stocked, and items are like the Delta Shores location with maybe a little more stuff. I like to check out the kitchen and household items. My son likes the Japanese candies and snacks. We can easily spend an hour browsing around. The only complaint I have is the aisles are tight, so you need to maneuver through or go around people. Bring your recycle bag or you have to pay for a bag.

I love shopping at DAISO! They opened one in ELk Grove. The store was well stocked and very clean. Since it just opened, the store was filled with a lot of customers. They have a Pockey promotion and first hundred get a gift bag when you spend $30. The store has a little of everything for your household. They have stationery, toys, hair accessories, containers, kitchenware, snack items, and a lot more. They have a lot of cute stuff. Everything is $1.75 unless it is listed for more. They have a price menu displayed.

New location just opened in Elk Grove! The store is very clean and the employees are nice. There is a lot of variety in products here. The store is either smaller than the Delta Shores one or the shelves are just placed where there is so little space to move around. Also there was less selection of snacks. Hopefully these get fixed in the future. Glad to see they had their bowls in stock because the one I got years ago just broke the other day. The plushies they have are very cute! The dog one called out to me with its cute face. If it had a hat it could be pompompurin's cousin!

Daiso has started opening lots of stores everywhere in recent years. This one in Elk Grove is one of them that opened not too long ago! Same as the other Daiso. They have lots of cute little things I want to bring home. All the stuff that they have are not expensive. It seems a very small amount until you're at the register. The little things do add up! I am surprised by how much money I usually spend in Daiso each time I'm there! The store looks great, and many items are in stock, except the snacks sections are pretty empty. I guess people in Elk Grove love Japanese snacks. Lol! The workers are friendly as most of the Daiso. I even had a warm greeting when I walked into the store. The parking lot is not crowded. I found a parking spot in front of the store, and it is clean and looks very safe.

Yay! I'm so glad EG has a Daiso now instead of having to drive over to Delta Shores. I came for the Grand Opening, and the line wrapped all the way to the side of HomeGoods by the time I arrived (10 AM). It was about an hour wait but we were tempted to stay because of the goodie bags they were handing out with a min of $30. Once inside, the aisles were nicely organized and stocked despite how busy it was. For the amount of people in the store, it made it seem very cramped and hard to navigate. You could really only go through the aisles one by one unless you want to squish your way through. The checkout line itself wrapped around the entire store, so we decided to continue our shopping as we moved in the line. The variety of goods and layout reminded me of the Daiso in Roseville, carrying similar things. I usually love coming to Daiso because of their snacks/pantry foods, this one only has one aisle of them instead of multiple aisles which is unfortunate, I hope they change that in the future. We ended up spending way more than $30, but the goodie bags were extremely disappointing. It was a handful of random loose candies and two small snacks, as well as a drink which equaled to roughly around $4-$6 worth of store items. I thought they were going to include things that you wouldn't be able to purchase inside the store, so waiting in line for the Grand Opening seemed like a waste of time. Besides that, I'm very glad they were quick to open up in this shopping plaza! With Gogi's opening not too long ago and Rumi Oasis being next door -- this area will definitely get busy. Especially with The Ridge across the street. However, it's still exciting that EG is opening up more businesses and bringing attraction to their younger consumers.

Went there a second round recently on a weekend. No lines of course to enter and quite short line to pay. Still quite busy. The Disney garden pick and a couple other items I bought last time were not replenish. In addition, I noticed this store did not carry their amazing hair catcher (both plastic and sticker paper form). That was a let down. The cashier line structure is still as terrible and I can totally see people will cut the line. I will probably go try one more time before I decide if I am going back to Delta Shore location for good...

Definitely not a lot of space if they had carts roaming around

This time, I headed straight to the home goods section while my wife went to the clothing section, as we always do. Almost immediately, I found a set of large work gloves I needed at a significantly reduced price. I also came across a set of cast-iron cookware and a few cast-iron frying pans at prices that caught my attention. However, after considering them for a minute or two, I decided not to purchase them because of their heavy weight and the challenges that poses when it comes to washing. My wife found a couple of tops she liked, and we headed for the cashier. For some reason, only one of the two registers was open, and because it was closing time, everyone was lined up to pay, which took a while. Other than that, it was a productive visit.

We were slow to assemble them and once done, we realized that we should have purchased a few more. The store we originally bought them from no longer had them, but my husband found them at Heroic. We were able to buy 4 more at Heroic for what 2 would have cost at the original store. We found time to assemble these quickly just in case parts were missing. Three of the four boxes appeared to have never been open (all parts still in original packaging, factory sealed, etc). The fourth appeared to have been partially assembled, customer changed mind, and put back in the box. We were concerned that pieces might be missing, but all parts were inside. If you are heading to Heroic, it helps to know what you are looking for and you need to be observant of what you are buying. Staff was friendly and there was a restroom for customers, which helped since this location is in an industrial area. A tip: my husband was able to find that the shelving was at this Heroic location because they post videos on social media. Just be aware, stock changes frequently so when you see something, go as soon as you can before it's gone.

In the past I've sold at…read morethe Folsom location, where I've had good experiences, but decided to try the Elk Grove location today and had a terrible experience. I called ahead to make sure they were actively buying and to gauge interest before taking the time to load everything up and make the drive over. The employee assured me I would not have any issues and to just come on by. Upon arrival the first employee was friendly, polite, and helpful. I explained that I was there to sell and had also brought in several LEGO collectors items that I planned to include as part of the deal at no extra cost, as a show of good faith. I had brought in roughly a dozen sets worth several hundred dollars to sell so it took around 20 minutes to perform the appraisal, but once done he gave me a price and explained the evaluation of each set. Whenever I sell at a store I expect to sell for much less than I do when I sell direct to consumer myself, but I'm willing to make that trade-off for the convenience of dealing in person and in bulk; however, the prices I was offered here ranged from low to outright laughable (up to 60% less than historical sales values online). While the prices were bad I was still willing to make a sale in order to save myself time. I asked for additional details about their evaluations, which the employee happily provided, and told them I wanted to take a few minutes to review the offer and perform due diligence before deciding how I wanted to proceed. It was at this point that things went from bad to worse. As I was reviewing the numbers, another employee came out from the back and immediately started making comments (ostensibly to his coworker, but very much audible to me) about how the first employee had offered too much on set X, that set Y wouldn't sell for very much, that they had too many of set Z, etc. After a minute or two of that, the first employee went on break. The second employee then proceeded to start asking me questions that made me feel pressured, like if I was ready or what I was looking up. I started to feel uncomfortable and asked if I was holding him up or anything, as he seemed annoyed, but he reassured me that they were open for several more hours and that I could take my time. I went back to looking up information online and a moment later the second employee said that he was rescinding the offer and that they were no longer interested in buying anything. This totally took me by surprise, as at this point I had not even made a single comment about their offer or attempted to negotiate -- I had just been asking questions and looking up information. It was abundantly clear to me that the employee was attempting to pressure me into accepting a bad deal, so I knew I should cut my losses and leave. Out of curiosity I asked why they had changed their mind. The employee said that they had a warehouse full of such sets and that they didn't need more. If that was the case, they could have told me so on the phone when I initially called to find out as much. He then made one more offer (for $100 less than the already bad initial offer), which I declined and left. The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch -- get you in the store, then pressure you into accepting a lowball offer. I'd recommend the Folsom location or perhaps the new Bricks and Minifigs instead if you're looking to sell.

Adj: Decent Dollar Tree with a Diverse Range of Dependable Products and Plenty of Different Doodads…read more So this Dollar Tree (DT going forward) has been opened since 2021 but I've not had the chance to check it out till recently. I usually frequent DTs in my area for everyday essentials, frivolous fun items, and hobby materials so this DT is new to me. It looked so big from the outside and indeed it is pretty big once you enter the store. This DT's arrangement is similar to other DTs with holiday and seasonal items front and center near the entrance, and then there's more (party & home) decor, greeting cards, arts & crafts and gardening items, etc. towards one side (right side in this store as you face in), essentials like health & beauty, automotive & electronics, and some "clothing" (mostly socks) towards the middle, and the left side of the store has the pantry & shelf stable food goods as well as light kitchenware to include dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, plastic and glass storage, etc. Towards the back of the store there are several freezer/cold cases just behind the aisles of pantry foods, and back towards the right side of the store again against the backwall, there are all the cleaning supplies and chemicals. Relatedly, I want to mention that Awesome is one brand that's tried and true for cheap cleaning liquids that DT still carries. Basically DT carries a little bit of everything you could possibly need, but on a smaller scale of choices, durability/quality, and functionality. So in some way it's almost as comprehensive as a Target or Walmart, but it's more convenient to get in and out here if you can find the same items here and it'll probably be slightly cheaper, but a lower quality version. It's too bad inflation has made it so that so many items at DT are now $1.25 at a minimum and most are at $1.50 to $5 and some items even more pricey than that. I found arts & crafts supplies I was looking for here, so this store is better stocked than one of the regular DTs in my area, but there were also some messy areas throughout this store. Still, it's not a bad DT and it's really got a little of everything from your depended on items to different doodads that don't matter, lol. Overall, this particular DT at the corner of Laguna and Bruceville was more than adequate in its offerings and staff were friendly and helpful enough too.

I couldn't help myself really. This location has lots of arts and crafts supplies, and quite decently organized for a Dollar Tree. Did I grab multiple bottles of acrylic paint and then get blue paint all over my hand only to find one of the bottles had busted open? Yes. Did that stop me from leaving the line to go back and find the ONE remaining bottle of the color I wanted that wasn't busted? No. Aside from that, the only issue I had here was that there were at least three employees standing in the front of the business but only one was working. Typically I wouldn't mind because people need breaks or sometimes they are assigned to something else, but the line for the one open cash register had over 15 people at one point. By the time I finally got to the front and was next in line, it was so long it was wrapping around to the point where people were getting a little bit argumentative. I heard someone yell "Hey! The line is behind me." and a few other words about it as well. I probably spent more time in line as I did in the store looking for all the items I needed, uh wanted. I know these stores are notoriously understaffed, but when employees are standing at the front chatting, it fuels resentment. If you can't open a new line and help the many waiting customers, maybe take your conversation to the break room or somewhere out of sight. I would still come here for affordable crafting supplies, but I would definitely try to head over during off-peak hours if possible.

Lately they've had some great Le Creuset items (ceramic bakeware) that I've gotten as gifts and for my own kitchen at about half off of listed prices. They have it all for your home- cooking implements, textiles, bedding, storage solutions, furniture, decor, pet items, novelties, lamps, art, rugs, even food. While they have a lot of mass merchandised items, they do stock on occasion department store brands- Viking, All Clad, Calphalon, British and Japanese pottery, Emille Henry, Mikasa, Dansk, etc. I've snagged some great Ralph Lauren sheets here. Keep your eyes open and you will find some great deals. You definitely would be surprised how they restock and fill in areas from day to day.
