Get your Spring cleaning on! Had to unload a bunch of e-waste and was having a difficult time finding a solid place. Thanks Yelp for directing me to Homeboy! I've been to many conferences where Father Greg was speaking, but never knew that he and Homeboy had expanded to the recycling sector. Truly a gem in our great city. Danny and the staff were super helpful. They unloaded and took care of everything. Thanks to them, my closets are roomier and I feel 300 lbs lighter. Thanks, Homies!

Beautiful display of vintage electronics.

Isidore is the bee's knees! Did not know of any electronics recycling centers in the Echo Park area but a quick Google search introduced me to Isidore among other electronics recycling centers with less than stellar reviews. They're not exactly in Echo Park but the drive to Chinatown isn't too bad even with a little bit of rush hour traffic. Needed to get rid of at least seven old white MacBooks and Isidore was eager to take those off my hands. Prior to driving there, I called them. The lady who picked up my phone call was super helpful; she made sure to inform me about the parking sitch as well. They're located on a dead end street but parking shouldn't be a problem with people coming and going to drop off recyclables and whatnot. Pretty rad space with a display of all sorts of electronics - a retro arcade machine, bunch of outdated telephones, TV sets, etc. It was like traveling back in time. Heaping piles of junk and murals lace the exterior and the street where Isidore is located. Who knew recycling could feel less like a chore but more of a fun excursion!? Went back again a couple weeks later to drop off two more old MacBooks and they were playing Bon Iver in their warehouse. I almost wanted to stay and hang out for a little bit until the song was over. Unless they were playing Bon Iver's 'For Emma, Forever Ago' album in its entirety then I probably would have just stayed until the work day was over. Way impressed by them. Keep up the good work!

Easy-to-find location, friendly staff, and seamless process. I moved in recently with my partner and needed to get rid of a lot of e-waste. I hadn't realized how much waste I accumulated throughout the years. I recycled a few old computers, a printer, a heater, old phones, cables and cords. I love Homeboy Industry and their mission-- and I prefer to recycle my e-waste here for a fee as they are able to employ formerly incarcerated folks through the fees collected from recycled items. If you care about Mama Earth and your neighbors (near and far), recycling with Homeboys is a no-brainer.

Unbelievable customer service unless you experience it first hand …read more Parking my truck and trailer across the street I walked to ask for help in which I could recycle a trailer load of mixed metals. To my surprise a very pleasant lady met me with a charming smile and asked if I needed help . I shared what I had to recycle and she said , I'll get someone to help you . Less than a minute of waiting , a young lad explained what he was going to do so that I could pull my trailer in . After doing so guided me in to unload . Well mannered young man who communicated clearly started to explain the variety of recycling I had which seemed very confusing to me . I was overwhelmed with sorting and mentioned it to the young man . I'm 60 and not in the best condition recovering from an accident that happened in 2020 . He politely said , he would help and sort it , and then inside they will sort and weigh it . He mentioned that he would lift the heavy items so not to put a strain on myself . I didn't catch his name but he is 20 years old & operates the forklift or fills in anywhere they need him . He also allowed me to utilize the trash can for un -recyclable item ( trash) Inside they weighed my recycling and separated it accordingly to give me the best price or it definitely seemed that way . He offered me water as this took close to a hour to unload . The cashier was also very polite and friendly explaining to me the process. I learnt the First Lady was the owner . I really felt honored having such a good experience as everyone worked as a team . As the Boss lady moved her car , I signaled her to back up , she was clear to do so . As she passed , I waved and gestured to say thank you with a wave . The remaining steps went smoothly . I received a ticket with weight and value . Handed it to the cashier with my ID . She recorded the ticket and I signed and received money in exchange for recyclable metal. It was a 5 star experience . Customer service made a difference in my choice to recycle . This is the place where Id recommend to recycle ~ I wish the company the best of business and to be free from accidents. To the lady owner and her workers Thank You . I appreciate your customer service.

The only thing that drives me a little crazy is how small their parking lot is. I was going to give them 4 stars BUT I realized I really have never had to wait even a minute for a spot to open up even when they are extremely busy. There is no need for them to loose a star when they are actually proving themselves through their A+ quality service and how fast they are, at selling and getting people in and out of the place. Recently*** I went by myself to recycle my stuff and I felt bad because I was taking a bit long and the lady who is in charge of selling the stuff came to help me!!!!! My heart almost broke in half, she said it was her job and she was helping me because there were no customers ready to sell their bottles but still even when she was helping me she was the sweetest person ever! ---Hence the whole service this business gives to the community is ***** (5 stars)

There are some item they will recycle for you but they do not pay cash for them. The center has very competitive prices they offer for items. They compete with the big recycling plant plant and in my opinion beat them in customer service. Thank you again Sunset for a smooth transaction. Matthew, I have to apologize, just I as I got back home I realized I left my trash bags scattered. I did not mean to do that.

Three people ahead of her also questioned the amount they received because the math did not add up. My mom checked the numbers afterward and realized she was missing about $13. When customers started counting their money and asking questions, the workers told them they had to leave and could not stand there. They denied doing anything wrong, but when people continued complaining, they gave some customers a couple more dollars to calm the situation down. This experience felt very shady and unprofessional. Customers should not feel rushed out or uncomfortable for checking whether they were paid correctly. I'm sharing this so others know to double-check everything before leaving.
